    Meh.

It's $679 direct from Apple. Can be got for around $530.

    $960 - $530 = $430
    $360/24 = $18/mo

It's not bad for someone who can't afford it outright and needs a monthly payment plan, though I'm sure Optus can do better than 1GB for >$18/mo. If it was 2GB, that'd outline it as an actual bargain. Currently the only real bargain is the payment plan. Otherwise maybe 10GB on a $65/mo plan would work. ($36-40/mo sim only plan + $25-29/mo ($600/$696) for phone).

Vodafone? Overpriced, bad customer service and worse coverage in most areas. OP can do better and use another Network for comparison.

  • A sign that a new iphone is around the corner is when the carriers start dropping their iphone prices.

  • Good deal, except the 1GB data download.

All it would take is to give 2GB data on a plan close to $40 and most would switch to that plan. Hoping one day someone would do it.

1G is nothing. This plan is a trap as you will end up paying more penalty/top-up on paying excessive use of data. I use 5G per month and now on a 22G data share plan.

  • 24 months is a long time, and 1gb of data is not a lot either.

if you get by on 1gb you dont need a smartfone,

  • +1

If you have another Optus service and pool data you get 5GB extra data. Then it would be 6GB.

    • I believe that offer has finished

      • Oh man, then that's not good :/

  • Tempting deal however don't think it's any improvement over the iPhone 5 my gf already has.

    • Flog in eBay and buy the new iPhone ?

SE is quite a bit better than 5.

    • The iphone SE is much more closer to the iphone 6s in terms of hardware than the iphone 5.
Why don't you 'think' it's an improvement? It is.

  • Good price for 6s on $65 plan, if you are not interested in getting 7. 10% off for Uni student makes it $58.5 per month and get 3.5gb of data
