Anyone who got a Gear Fit 2 in the last few sales care to comment on how they're going?

    • Also note bit of competition out there for fitness bands. Microsoft band 2 plummeting in price plus a new fitbit charge hr#2 is coming out soon or now.

But this might be cheapest of all them.

I bought mine a few days ago from JB…and now it's $10 cheaper again.

Anyway I like it, it pairs and works well with my S7 Edge.

I got mine for $120 ($5 pm for 24 months) with the optus deal. While I like it and think it's great, honestly I wouldn't pay any great amount upfront, because I don't think a fitness tracker adds that much to my life. Plus I don't wear this everyday, only when I go out to exercise. The display is great and battery life is reliable so all in all, a nice accessory, but not vital unless you NEED a fitness tracker.

      • Good call, some people seem to become quite neurotic about monitoring themselves. Even though the devices they're using are hopelessly innaccurate.

I got this two weeks ago. Previously had a Fitbit Charge HR.

Comparing to my experience with the Fitbit:
Overall it's a good compromise of smartwatch to a fitness tracker. It has GPS that accurately track my run. The Auto tracking does not trigger all the time, only after 10 mins, and for me that's more than half way. The lack of 24/7 HRM means that it doesn't accurately track calories burnt. The floor count is often inaccurate.

What it has compare to the Fitbit is a great looking watch. Customisable watch face, always-on feature, and not bad battery life (about 2-3 days). It also got GPS and music player, so you can choose to run without your phone.

I think the big bummer for me is the lack of continuous HRM. Logging in meals also not as simple as Fitbit. Also it doesn't sync the weight with my Aria.
If this watch has continuous HRM, this will be a killer product of the year.

EDIT: One more thing, the S Health Together feature needs work. People with S Health need to manually turn it on, or it won't appear. As a result I have no friends in my S Health.

      • Solid reply. Thanks fm

      • Like my ugly duckling surge fit bit but always would like more.

      • The lack of 24/7 HRM means that it doesn't accurately track calories burnt

Knowing heart rate doesn't allow you to accurately calculate calories burnt.

Haven't read any evaluation of this products HRM however it will be an exception if it's accurate. Most fitness tracking devices are wildly inaccurate.

        • Yes it isn't accurate, but it does better than nothing. If I am climbing stairs, or carrying a shopping bag, it should at least track higher calories than usual.

  • Out of stock as usual

  • Shame the Gear Fit it is out of stock. I need to replace my Fitbit Charge, died after 1 yr. JB is doing it for $189, is anyone beating them?
