    Jug Blender

I wonder if Harvey Norman will pull this from the shelves like the Target Batman girls T-shirt ???

  • These comes with 5 year warranty, pretty good imo

  • Hows the Electrolux Masterpiece Collection Food Processor? Any good?

  • So tempted, if I didn't buy the ninja blender a few months ago

    • i have a Ninja too. it's a beast, use it every day. love it

    • Ninja is awesome

    • Me too, but the Ninja is crazy good.

    • Same here ninja is just pure gangsta

  • scratch that

  • +2

Someone pls stop me! I don't need this!

  • Awesome, had my blender start smoking on the weekend so great timing, now does anyone know any good deals on a microwave? its starting to crackle and blue spark

    • Only good deal is not to use one.

      • +1

Why? Those myths from the 70s about breaking down the DNA etc have been proven false. It's definitely a healthier way of re-heating food and even cooking than frying.

        • Definitely don't if it's 'starting to crackle and blue spark' :P

  • Bought one, not sure what to do with it.

    • Its my birthday today.

      • +3

Happy Birthday! Just for you this blender is reduced to $99 from $429! More Birthday Freebies here DEALS

  • Like others and other things on OzB..bought one..stacking up on blenders..phillips.. russell hobbs.. ninja..and now this… hope mrs doesnt kill me..

    • +5

Just hope she doesn't blend you :p

  • Good price… it appears to be halving in price weekly so maybe $50 next week?

    • with most of the premium credit card deals posted on ozbargain, we can start making use of the price purchase guarantees that come with them.

  • Review here, although this says 1200 watt and HN's site says 1600 watt.

    http://www.cnet.com/au/products/electrolux-masterpiece-blend…

eta - bought. Thanks OP. 5 years manufacturers warranty seems okay.

    • That is a different model. This is the one on HN site:
      http://www.electrolux.com.au/Products/Small-Home-Appliances/…

    • Read this, apart from a few niggles it seems his main problem was the price US$350. This is a different model number so lets hope some of those niggles have been addressed because the price certainly has been.

Bought one also. This site is killing me. Sure I'll go a couple of hours out of my way and book a ticket on the train to Destitution-ville - a new blender is worth it!

Hey Vhaluus, any chance you could please post a screenshot or pic of the choice review of this blender? I am unable to get the free choice subscription to work. Thank you :)

  • Just out of curiosity… What do you guys make or cook using this kinda of blender everyday? Can't think of anything else but smoothies myself…not a good cook LOL. Guys just give me some ideas to convince myself to buy one.

    • Marinades, milkshakes, slushies, soup ect ect

      • Thanks… I have a mix n go blender to make fruity shakes for my kids sometimes, don't know if I still need a better one though…

        • Believe me, a mix n go is a toy. Get this or a Ninja.

        • @dosada: I just got one, seems well made, the functions behave well ect.

    • pancake batter!

      • If you like Chewy pancakes

        • I mean English pancakes/crepes.
Yep, not the best for American pancakes.

    • Pastes for curries? Pesto? Soup? Just guessing, I only have a mixer and a food processor. Mixer has a blender attachment and the bf has a Ninja but I'm still quite tempted by this…

  • +5

Great deal! Before I woke up today I had never owned a blender. Now I have 2…

      Welcome to blender September

Harvey Norman just rang… they said the silver is low stock but offered me the copper one (not on sale) for the same price. Double bargain.

    • I ordered the blender, kettle and toaster. Hope they don't try to swap mine for the copper one too. I don't want them anymore if they're not going to match.

      • I don't like your chances. They told me the stock was way overestimated, so a lot of the SS ones are being swapped for copper. If so you can always cancel.

  • +3

Bought the kettle n blender even though I don't need it. I don't know why I checked ozbargain today.

  • Damn, I've got one of those plastic Kogan jobs which was around the same price. Bet this looks 10 times nicer, and probably operates better, but I can't really justify buying it :(.

  • +3

This blender performed impressively according to CHOICE. Add to that the 5 year warranty and the great sale price and it makes for a very happy blend all up!

    • I loved the bit where after doing the green smoothies to death they blended the steak and made the perfect red smoothie.

Do any of you guys have a pic or screenshot of the choice review of this blender by any chance? I cant get the free choice subscription to work unfortunately. Thanks heaps :)

  • According to the CNET review, the base doesn't come off, not sure if this means you can't physically clean/brush the blades like you can with a nutri ninja?

    • I came so close to buying one and after watching their review and hearing that I'm not so sure anymore. That's going to be a pain to clean.

      • Put warm water and soap, blend. Put clean water blend and so on until your happy? Lol it moves fast enough to clean that way.

    • I think you're right (happy to be corrected). I think the idea is to just put hot/boiling water & detergent in the jug and run it. Soaking if necessary for the hard stuff…?

      • All meaningful data blocked on that link unless a member..

        • +2

          Gives it 92%

        • +1

According to the review "wide base area of jug makes it easier to remove load around the blade". whether this translates to easier cleaning, is not clear.
However, it does state that the jug may be awkward to clean in a domestic sink or in the dishwasher.

        • @zzymurgy:
Thanks all, and for the link to free choice viewing, ill look into that☺

        • @yupyup: Looks like it is only for VIC addresses. They send a letter to validate address. Can people outside Vic have it as well?

Does anyone have a pic or screenshot to the choice review of this blender by any chance? I cant get the free choice subscription to work unfortunately. Thanks heaps. :)

    • The CNET review mentions 1,200 Watt but this one is 1,600. A different model?

  • Such a shame that you cant use HN Gift Vouchers for online purchases!

  • Is there any stock left in syd? Or delivery only ?

  • +1

WTF $30 for delivery for both blender and kettle to Melbourne :(

EDIT: Two separate orders and the shipping came down to $14.95 + $7.95

    • The 21kg food processor was 13.95 post for me rofl

  • Just picked it up, FYI jug is plastic

    • It's not plastic it's scratch and shutter resistant 'Tritan' aparently

      • So.. Is that better than glass?

Was thinking of getting rid of my old glass blender. When the mrs has been using our old blender on frozen bananas it smells like the motor is burning out. Possibly due to doing hard work without liquid to cool the motor down?

      • +2

Straight from google search.. first hit

"Tritan is a BPA-free plastic — it is not manufactured with bisphenol A (BPA) or other bisphenols, such as BPS. Tritan is an impact-resistant plastic — products can be used without fear of shattering. Tritan is a tough plastic — extending the useful life of water bottles and food containers."

  • As per tantryl's post two threads ago:

"This is meant to be a very good blender. Very highly rated by choice.com.au, the highest rated out of 40 testing in their March 2016 roundup. And they list it as $430.

    Noice."

    • I think anyone who's been considering getting a blender even remotely would be crazy not to get this. I was remotely considering getting a bullet-type one but jumped on this. It will outperform and outlast anything else even well above this price range. Not to mention 5 years warranty vs 1 year on most.

      • Yeah, it's a great deal. I forgot to + it :)

  • $7.95 delivery only?

  • +1

Went to Nunawading's store to pick up one, purchased over the phone earlier afternoon. Was told by the manager that if the store is out of stock they are issuing a rain checks. So "Do yourself a favour" - get a rain check if you are out of luck to get a blender at the store.

  • +1

Missed this but writing myself a comment to refer to when one day I finally actually buy a blender. If never comes, saved 100 buckers.

  • Cheers, OP. Picked one up yesterday arvo. Salesman seemed shocked at the price haha

  • My two were just shipped.

  • +1

Just gave this a whirl last night making some sunflower seed butter. Very impressed. Thanks again OP.

    • How do u make it?

      • +1

just toast sunflower seeds by tossing them in a hot dry frypan. Then add salt and pulverise in blender, adding olive oil to the blender until sufficiently smooth.

        • OK thanks.

I just tried making almond butter but the nuts got flung to the side and needed to scrap it down. Had to stop and start it many times and I think the motor got too hot as well. I have to be more careful next time so it's not spinning with no resistance.

        • @sintro: not sure if you're using blanched raw or roasted almonds. You can use raw but it will be a bit longer than using roasted.

I would say that it sounds like the mix is too dry if it is adhering to the sides of the jug. Even a vitamix can't blend something if it is not liquid enough to flow. Maybe a bit more olive or coconut oil or whatever you're using.

  • Does anyone have the exact model number of this blender? Or a picture of the box please?

    • Do you still need this information?

      • Thank you for your reply sintro. Its all good i ended up finding one. Thanks again :)

  • Just got mine. Alot bigger, alot quieter, blades alot more hardcore than our nutri ninja auto IQ. Decent upgrade!

  • Still waiting for mine, but they reckon it is coming..

    • I just received mine today! They messed up my order initially. They mailed out the food processor instead and then somehow had the courier return the package to depot and forgot all about me. I had to chase up via phone and finally got it today.

  • Has anyone tried grinding coffee beans with this??
