Great mattress… but the Queen size was $899 in March 2016 with no coupon.
    Got it for $849 with a $50 off…

Seems the price has been hiked right up

Same with OneBed. Their Singles were $499 last week.
Now back up to $699 with $200 off coupon "DAD200"

      • Coupon ONESIE300 gets you $300 off with onebed, if that helps you? Just ordered a King for $799

    • Yep, and in January they had $80 off and the queen was still $849 and in May they had $100 off and the same price again and now $250 off and again the price is $849.
I guess Christmas will be $1000 off and the price will be $849!

not a sale at all, $849 is the normal price it seems.

  • Great mattress, was a bit suss when buying, but this is easily the nicest mattress I've ever owned and never went for cheapies beforehand. Only complaint was the handle on the box broke - lugging that box up a flight of stairs wasn't the favourite thing I've ever had to do, but it did help with making that nights sleep all the better…

  • Better than ergoflex?

    • I dunno. On this one the memory foam and latex layers are minimal - about 7cm total, but hard to tell, the other 75% is just normal old foam. 25.4cm total thickness. So about 18cm normal foam. The latex layer is so thin I wonder how it could be of much use, but the gel layer sounds like it may cool better than the Ergoflex.

It seems a lot of money for a very thin layer of the high tech stuff.

The Ergoflex has 9cm normal foam out of 21cm total. 9cm memory foam, 3cm another kind of foam with bumps on (supposedly help cool it).

I have an Ergoflex and love it, but it can be hot in summer. You need cool bedding (Tencel, bamboo) in summer. Great for minimal partner disturbance. They are heavy and cumbersome to move.

Interesting Ecosa do a Super King. Little tip if you have quilt hogging partner or want some extra length - Super King quilt on a Queen or King bed - bloody marvellous.

  • How does the trial with a return? Where do we return?

    Cant find these details

    • You ring them and they come collect it. Free of charge.

  • price increases, last deal was $100 off and was the same price (within $1) as this with $250 off.

  • Is this a mattress for a cool sleeper or hot sleeper?

    • One of the most mentioned issues with memory foam is that it retains heat more than a standard mattress - more insulating. So either the mattress or bedding needs to combat that effect. Both these companies reckon they have done, but you need to read reviews. Both have a return policy if you don't like it, but check if it really is free.

You shouldn't use an electric blanket with them either as it's the body heat (and weight) that makes the memory foam work. I throw an electric throw blanket in for a few minutes before getting in just to take the chill off the sheets. If its really cold I have put it between an upper sheet and the quilt.

They also take some people some time to get used to - some people take a few weeks or so - some never get to like it.

Lots of mentions on whirlpool about Ergoflex. Worth checking for Ecosa too. I suspect they wouldn't publish negative reviews on their sites.

      • Awwww the thing is I prefer cool mattresses, so I take it this isn't the kind of mattress for me?

        • Well, maybe not as the whole principal of memory foam is you sink into it a bit and are evenly supported. There's fewer 'hard bits'. If you're in a warmer part of the country (or warmer room) it may not be cool enough. You really need to try it to know though as the greater comfort may overcome the greater heat retaining quality.

I'd be reading the reviews of the Ecosa to see what people reckon about it in hot areas.

I know someone that has this style of mattress (cant remember the brand) they thought it was great for a month then started saying how hot it was and was looking around if you could buy a cool top for it.
          they live in Brisbane.
          Hope it helps you..

@wfdTamar: For me the cooler the better. I always wake up feeling hot even in 20c temperatures. Thanks, I'll start reading up

        • @PVA: Hrrrm I guess it might not be the mattress for me then. Would latex be cooler?

        • @Bunnyburger:
I have to say Latex is hot too. Our holiday place at Noosa is a latex (and expensive) mattress - awfully hot to sleep on. I don't like it as its too hot. Super comfortable though.

I think a real mattress (old style spring) with a really good topper is the best for hot weather.

  • Ha ha, here's cheek for you - just watched the embedded Youtube video on the Ergoflex page which starts off mostly white with text in the middle explaining the design process - and the ad at the bottom of it was for Ecosa. Made it look like the video was about Ecosa!

  • The Koala mattress and Ecosa are the same price after discounts for the size I need. Are these mattresses pretty similar in quality and comfort?
