Came across this Gear VR/Google Cardboard clone on Newfrog that's on sale. Seems fairly decent for the price as it has adjustable focal length and PD.

I bought from eBay at $23, with bluetooth controller a few weeks ago. It arrived this morning and I tried. The elastic straps are not very secure. The opticals didn't cover enough view angle so you will see the left and right edges of the phone, even you adjusted to not seeing the middle plastic block. The lens were not stick stable so when I was rubbing a lens with cleaning tissue it fell. I have to open the front plate (with screw driver) to apply super glue. The Bluetooth remote mostly supported by android, which iOS only allows play/pause, volume and mute buttons. Say something below $30 is still worth if you wanna try watching bornhub as experience of Their new VR category. However, you may have to spent a thousand-ish to get a Oculus Rift or HTC VIVE to take full exp.

It's a VR Box — generally uncomfortable, front-heavy and a horribly low FOV even if you use a 6" phone. Better to spend a little more and get something that is more highly regarded by the VR community (at least so far as cardboard headsets are concerned), such as this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/260026 (coupon still valid).
