I don't see how i am saving money on a product that yet to release

  • IPS with adaptive refresh at last \o/

    • +1

Huh?? There are a few out there already, I'm currently using one (Acer XB270HU).

      • +1

EIZO FORIS FS2735 and ASUS MG279Q, too.

  • +2

What is their normal price and RRP?

    • Basically same price as in the US. Had a look a eBay and Amazon an it is going for this price. Amazon. I suppose with the dollar difference this makes it a good price.

  • +2

    60hz? No thanks

    • +1

Default 60 but you can manually set it higher using the monitor menu.

      • -1

Are you talking about over-clocking? That still won't get me near 144hz, neither do I want to degrade my hardware faster

        • +7

You can't get a consumer monitor with 4K resolution and 144Hz at the moment. No graphics card can handle that.

        • @edfoo: Actually depending on what game it is, and it's usually the older ones(as like you said, currently there is no one card(but I guess you could get as close as can be with Tri or even Quad SLi/Fire?) that can push 144fps in the newer graphical demanding games), you can play them in 2160p144 @ 144fps for perfect sync.

        • @Zachary: Solitaire and Minesweeper? ;)

  • +3

Death to proprietary! Long live VESA adaptive sync/freesync !!

  • As much as 4K is nice, I still prefer gaming on 3440x1440, which is much nicer due to the aspect ratio imho, and less pixels to push than a 4K monitor.

    • +5

3440x1440 is the resolution of an ultra-wide monitor. Not everyone want an ultra-wide monitor.

      • +2

I honestly think Ultrawide beats standard 16:9 on everything but price at the moment if you want a single monitor. 1440p gaming at 100Hz+ is easier than gaming at 4K 60Hz, and the difference between 1440p/4K is way less than 1080p/1440p. Productivity is way better and games are much more immersive, and movies which are recorded on that aspect ratio are just that much better without black bars on the top/bottom. I'd even choose a single ultra wide over 2 smaller monitors just because I hate bezels so much. Anyone getting this for gaming needs a 1070 minimum otherwise its pointless. My advice, get a 144hz 1440p monitor and save your cash until 4K monitors and capable graphics cards become cheaper.

          16:10 master race

        • @furythree: Aw I wish they still kept on making those 16:10 ratio monitors….but alas 16:9 is like the standard now….

        • @Zachary: they do, you just gotta search

they just dont make them BIG enough

30" 2560x1600 was my last monitor

          55" 4k is my current

        • @furythree: Well I don't see any 16:10 UHD(3840x2400) monitors anywhere(except that IBM one but 21" is much too small for my liking @ UHD resolution, plus it's discontinued as well…), the last highest resolution 16:10 aspect monitor is 2560x1600(which I already have) and that's it.

I've seen one which is true 4k 16:10 and does 4096x2560 but they were asking like $40k for it(if I remember) which is definitely out of my league(and I'm not even sure if they are willing to sell to consumers or just only businesses), and probably by the time I do save enough for it it's discontinued or something which usually happens when I start saving up for something now and then later when I do actually have the funds for it(and still want it), no one sells them anymore…

I was after a nice 16:10 UHD monitor from my 30" 2560x1600 monitor but apparently these don't exist so I guess I've sorted converted to the 16:9 and became one of them for the time being and bought myself a 3840x2160 instead….

Also no one appears to make any 16:10 high refresh rated monitors either, it's only 1920x1080p144 and 2560x1440p144, both of which is 16:9 but no 1920x1200p144 or 2560x1600p144….

        • @Zachary: i converted to 4k cause at my ridiculous 55" size it more than makes up for lack of vertical resolution

take my advice and get 43-49inch lol

          Wasabi Mange UHD430 UHD433

and no card can handle 4k120hz for gaming, for normal usage maybe

  • +8" and curved and I'd drop another $500 on it.

    Prefer freesync though.

  • +2

    4K, IPS, G-Sync and 4ms response? That's quite impressive!

  • +1

Just reconsider before buying 4k monitor guys, i buys the Acer ultra wide monitor the windows scaling just horrible, even in this Era a lot of program not optimize for 4k display, everything looks less impressive, and you better willing to spend more on graphics card to run this monitor with decent frame rates. Unless you already have 2 gtx 1080, better stay with 1080 or 1440, and upgrade your graphics card

  • Im speechless! Literally ordered this monitor from scorptec 2 days ago and will be delivered to my home today at $1517. And now this deal pops up? Serious, what I should do?

    • I don't think there is much you can do now. Is there any chance they can price match it at this stage? I'd give them a call.

    • I reversed my car into my friends parked car a few days ago.. Was very early in the morning brain was off and he parked across my driveway :( who does that.. Anyways $550 down the drain.. Life costs money.. The less you worry about it the better you will feel.

As for the monitor.. Its a goood 32” screen but not a fan of 4k on anything smaller then 65”

      • I did the same thing a couple of years back. Smashed my car into a car parked across my driveway too. Cost me $1200 OUCH. Was saving for a new PC at the time :(

        • +1

after driving out of that driveway like 100 times the last thing you think about is a car being there and at 2-4kmph at 6am on an ice cold morning no need to worry about "PEOPLE" /kids/dogs being behind you for that small amount of driveway at a Cul-de-sac

    • Hope that its faulty? :P

    • +1

      You have yours now!
Sure, it's cost a tiny bit extra but you actually have it!
If you had waited you would not have got it until well into next week.

So you have it now, you get it a week earlier than the special. You'll have it for this weekend… whereas you would have had to wait until next weekend to have your way with it….

      hope that helps

edit: and you didnt have to smash your friends car to get it, well done!

      • thank you for the comfort comments, guys :)

I just submitted a return request to Scorptec after one of their staff told me there wouldnt be any fee and i can get the full refund ( not the delivery fee). Now I just wait for their official confirmation.
Worst case, i will keep the monitor, but i do prefer to save $182 and wait for 2 or 3 weeks from PLE.

  • If this was 144hz I would be buying 2 right now.

    • +2

144hz 4k will require two Vega 11 GPU's that are out next year

      6000+ cores 16Tflops
      16Gb's of HBM2 memory at 1TBps memory bandwidth ( 4 times more then GTX1080 )
In Vulkan it would be more then twice as fast as GTX1080

Crossfire two Vega 11 super high end GPU's and play a Vulkan game and you may get close to 144Hz at 4k :)

2017 will be a good time to upgrade

Nvidia will have Volta in 2018 but Big Pascal ( 3840 CUDA cores – all 30 of 30 SMs enabled) with HBM2 wont touch Vega 11 with 6000+ cores and HBM2 … it will compete with Vega 10 with 4096 cores though and probably beat it in DX11

      • I will be interested to see if Vega really is that good. Have been let down too many times by AMD recently, also they wouldn't support Gsync. Does not have to run at 144hz particularly, just above 60. I bought 2 980ti hybrids on launch that don't quite need the upgrade for a little while longer but I will be interested to see what the future holds.
