The goofy looking scooter got three wheels

    • We can only assume you don't have any young kids

Wow. The brand Micro must be like "Rolls Royce" brand for scooters. BigW, Target and Kmart got scooters starting from just $19

    • The additional $80 gets a scooter that will actually last 5 years+ until the next size up is required.

    • Got a couple of cheap foldable 3 wheelers from Big W (about $30 I think).
Fine for the kids, but can't take adult weight. First one I broke the screw mounts into the plastic, but Big W replaced and new one has survived many years now (for the kids only :) I stayed off it this time)

  • I thought this would have been electric at this price point.

No child under 4yo would know the difference between this and a $15 job.

These scooters are absolutely awesome and well worth the money. The cheap ones don't compare at all.

But just imagine if you got 5 boys (I have seen a lady with 5 boys). Instead of spending $120-$160 for 5 scooters, here it would cost you $500+
Well like all branded names, you buy them if you can afford them…

No family with five kids buys all of them new stuff. Unless the lady (who probably has a husband) had quintuplets she would have learnt some tricks along the way. Chances are the first kid got nearly everything new. Second one probably got decent handmedowns. Third, forth and fifth get some new stuff from friends and family but mainly not quite broken toys and clothes that don't have too many stains on them.

This family has probably come to appreciate quality and products and give all the kids Micro scooters (or similar) but now they pick them up from council collections free or Gumtree for ~$20 each.

        • No family with five kids buys all of them new stuff.

Hard hitting, inciteful made up facts!

      • I have seen a lady with 5 boys

I misread that as "I have seen 5 lady boys"…hey, what happens on tour… ;)

  • Best scooters out there by far Swiss built and very hardy .. My daughter still uses hers 4 years on with pretty much daily use.. Doubt if you'd get 6 months on one of the cheaper ones til the wheels fall off!

  • Folks in Melbourne, go to http://www.scooterhut.com.au/mini-micro-scooter/ instead. Awesome service, and they'll price match

    • Hey mate. It appears that kidstuff have melbourne stores so much of a muchness IMO. Also managed to get free shipping with kidstuff which is always a bonus!

  • Skip the mini and go straight for the maxi. Much better build while still a useable size, and save some coin on buying the two sizes.

  • These have a special steering mechanism so the kid can balance on three wheels but still learn proper leaning around corners.

You wouldn't get a 2 year old on a normal scooter. This comes before the real scooter. Different products.

    • I caught sight of a blur flying across my driveway recently…it was my 2yo on a balance bike, you'd be surprised what the little toads can operate at that age! ;)

FWIW, you can get the same design as this (albeit different brands, but with similar tilt'n'steer mechanisms) from plenty of stores for under $50 if you shop around. That said, I wouldn't trust my 2yo on any scooter…bi or tri-wheeled.

  • thanks bought two rockets for us kidults! :) We've been wanting to buy some for us to scoot with our kids!

Hopefully you're tiny because there's a 35kg max weight. I've seen a small drunkidult break one.

      • are you talking about the rocket or the one above? All of the scooters they have are 30% off due to the sale, the micro site states 100kg max for the rocket:

        https://www.microscooters.com.au/scooters/adult-scooters/sa0…

        Specifications
        • Age Range:5 - Adult
        • Max Load: 100kg
        • Weight 4.3kg

I was talking about this mini. Didn't realize you were referring to an adult one.

  • Who they use for delivery?
