Not good enough, I only buy routers with 12 antennas, this only has 8 antennas.

Is that because you like to put little Australian flags on each antenna, former Prime Minister Abbott?

  • Do not recommend for anyone who suffers from arachnophobia.

    • Yeah, they really ought to have made it with the Antenna pointing down and a more spidery Thorax/Abdomen…

      • Does it come with a cleaning attachment oris that an accessory

  • If it was the M.2 version I'd be interested. 2.5" SATA not so much.

    • It's still a fantastic price for a 1TB Intel SSD.

I'd be tempted to grab this if I needed an SSD today, but flash memory price drops of this year and late last year have got me excited for the after xmas sales in a few months. I think a few of us are looking forward to my few computers having 2TB SSDs and other devices getting 200GB U3 micro SD cards for close to the cost of a 250gb SSD and a 32GB SD cards maybe 18 months ago.

My crystal ball could be wrong tho.

      • I'm planning on getting a new laptop soon, so I'm hoping to get a 256GB NVMe SSD (OS + apps) and a 1TB M.2 SATA (games), with the 1TB HDD for storage (videos).

        • Which laptop? They are making 4TB 2.5" HDDs and they might get thin enough soon to put in any laptop. If you are going that level of performance with your SSDs, then I would consider having the 'slow' storage larger than your game drive.

        • @c0balt: Not 100% certain, but probably the new Alienware 15. Battery life is very important to me, and the new Alienware laptops have the option for 99Wh (largest of any manufacturer).

To be honest, I probably don't even need the 1TB HDD, but they basically all come with one so I may as well keep it and use it. Certainly not worth it to me to upgrade to 4TB. I have more than enough storage in my file server, so this one would only be used to store things I'm watching at the time, and possibly as a second backup for photos.

    • Sorry to ask the difference? (Noob question)

    • Not a big fan of M.2 TLC SSD drives. Kinda defeat the purpose of using M.2. Normal SATA version is fine as you are not paying extra for the M.2 interface for this TLC drive.

      • Not saying other people shouldn't buy this. For me, the M.2 is preferable for use in a laptop (even if it's not NVMe).

        • You have nice laptop(s). My ancient ones still use the SATA interface. Not a fan of TLC SSDs (not even Samsung ones, they all cheat in benchmark tests with SLC cache).

Put that router on your head, and you'll look like Sauron the dark lord.

The fact that it's a "gaming" router obviously means you will have the 'winning edge' and it will lead to less tea bagging occurring which I understand is a global problem so good on Asus foor working on some of the world most pressing problems!

    • Everyone knows gamers play on LAN

    • Tricky to get a pci card that runs at that speed with windows 10 ….. Even the Asus pci card has windows 10 driver problems and doesn't aggregate 2.4 and 5 GHz …….

  • Was $392 with free earphones
