Needed an impact driver for general use, I reckon this is the cheapest "new with wartanty" impact driver available. The drill is a bonus.

Ha. I was bitching about something to the checkout girl at Masters. She looked like I'd insulted her personally, so I quickly added something like, "but it must be even worse for the staff" in my best sympathetic tone.

  • Can you confirm if it comes with 2x batteries and charger as per the last deal? Just can't see it on the box.

    • Yes, the same model.

The impact driver is quite impressive, strong enough to loosen lug nuts.

    • Yes as Wert98 said, it comes with 2 batteries and one charger.

  • +1

Please note, the battery does not last very long.

    • How long?

Ans you have a huge and humongous saving of $6.90. Make sure you invest this money carefully in the stock exchange (subject to current market risk)….:)

  • It's 10% off from last deal $69

    Warranty from WHOM?

    It's a Masters house brand, isn't it?

    • I suspect that these may be manufactured by this Chinese manufacturer (WESCO Power Tools). So it's not really made by Masters itself so not a house brand.

By the way even when Masters closes down there should still be a phone support line setup for warranty support purposes so you should still get warranty.

Of course it's not really made by Masters… they just import it. The term "House brand" doesn't mean that the name of the product is the name of the store.

Same as Ozito and XUI - Bunnings don't manufacture those, but there is no other other way to get parts and service, since Bunnings are the exclusive importer.

Anyway, in this context I mean "house brand" I mean that there is no other outlets or local presence apart from Masters. Is there a local office of Westco that stocks spare parts?

By the way even when Masters closes down there should still be a phone support line setup for warranty support purposes so you should still get warranty.

        Yeah right. We'll see.

In any case, Westco is the equivalent of Bunning's XU1 brand, which is the lowest grade of domestic tools for occasional use. Certainly not hobbyist or Prosumer quality.

A 12 month warranty under those circumstances is pretty lame, and you can hardly expect these products to be anything other that disposable items. Which is perfectly fine at this price point.

      • Yes. Woolworths will be providing support for all warranties once Masters has closed.

      • I won't bother to send these craps back for warranty if they fail one day. Postage cost would kill the mood.

I am more interested in how easy to buy replacement batteries/recharger. These things tend to fail first.

        • You would probably just have to lodge it at the local Woolworths to claim warranty since they do own Masters. Technically Woolworths would have to honour the existing 12 month warranty since it's the parent company.

  • Bloody annoying you can't call to check stock levels
