  • Hi, looking to get some Julius Marlows but only available in 'Carbon' colour.

Is this dark enough to pass for black? Just looking for something I can wear every day to work…

    • Yes the carbon is quite dark and dark enough to pass for black in my opinion. It is a really modern, on trend color.

  • Hi guys just added one new Julius Marlow style to the sale (Julius Marlow Krest) with decent sizing available (Hurry limited stock available)

Ordered Hush Puppy sandals for my son, though disappointed I clicked for a "$10 off new acct." only to see you won't allow it through? Also, Googled these same sandals from your site previously to find they were sold for $49 & now at $59 for this "sale"?

Kind of like the Ebay mark-up & then "sale", non-sales….

  • I wear Size 8 in Florsheim and 41 in Aquila.
what would be the suggested size on the Slatters Range and Julius Marlow? Could you please help Rep?

    • Hi a size 41 EUR = 7 AUS/UK

  • My item ordered on the Sept 14th is still showing as "Ordered" and hasn't progressed. What's with the holdup?!

    • Mine is the same. PM rep here yesterday morning, still no reply.

    • Any updates? Mine also sits on "Ordered" since the 14th..

    • Yeh, placed my order on the 14th and still not sits on 'ordered'. I emailed Brand house direct and PM'd OP but nil response. My wife's birthday is on the 30th and I guess it won't arrive on time then. =(

      • I find their feedback loop and comms relatively slow.

  • Got my shoes yesterday. What a good deal! Thanks rep!

Just a heads up as unfortunately with this sale (and possibly others) this retailer is in clear breach of the Trade Practices Act which regarding consumers rights on returns/refunds clearly states:

It is against the law for businesses to tell you or show signs stating that they do not give refunds under any circumstances, including for gifts and during sales

So when BHD promoted this sale by stating:

PLEASE NOTE: We are happy to accept returns in accordance with Australian consumer law. We will not be accepting returns for this promotion due to change of mind or wanting to exchange the size and/or style. Please refer to the relevant brands size chart within the product listing pages for assistance with sizing.

Firstly, they're stating the obvious - as whether they're happy or not the Trade Practices Act applies. Secondly, they're now misleading consumers and in breach of The Act by stating any return won't be accepted for anything but a faulty item.

BHD knows that unfortunately & somewhat ridiculously in 2016 there's still very often a significant difference between the exact same size in different brands of shoes and sometimes even within the SAME brand itself between different models. So it's very reasonable to expect a consumer that enters a transaction in good faith may receive and item thats 100% acceptable to be returned as if the size 10 they received doesn't fit their size 10 feet it's a major fault by the ACCC & The Act's definition:

A service has a major problem when:
    - it has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying it if they’d known about it
    - it is substantially unfit for its common purpose and can’t easily be fixed within a reasonable time
    - it does not meet the specific purpose you asked for and cannot easily be fixed within a reasonable time

And finally I've browsed over BHD's return policies and quite a bit of it is in breach of The Act e.g offering store credit in lieu of a refund via the payment method used by the consumer - so it might be mindful of them to review this entire area of their policies/dealings with consumers to ensure no future issues occur. :-)

FWIW I've been happy with orders from BHD but a few issues have arisen and I'm disappointed they've tried to mislead me on my consumer rights just to save a few bucks, which I'd happily of spent with them in future transactions anyway. :-/
