i wonder if there is a fair use policy for the unlimited car washes…

    • +1

It takes time to wash a car, and even if they washed it for 6 months continuosuly; the maximum number of free car washes would be limited. Come to think of it, doing so may only be considered 1 wash!

  • +6

I still can't afford an Audi, but 15% off a new car is not a bad bargain. Better than the $500 free accessory posts that I saw recently…

  • Thanks

  • Seems like a decent deal. So wish they have Q2 in stock now..

  • Does this include the R8?

    • You get more with R8

    • Nice try, but you ain't buying lol

Save 15% off the manufacturer's recommended retail on road drive away price

which is pretty much what you should be able to get anyway if you're a good bargainer…

    • Even more through car brokers

    • +2

You can do better than that. 15% is a starting point for bargaining on a car that costs more than $100k. My old man got about 30% off on his last Benz.

      • +22

Ridiculous blanket statement. Depends on supply and demand of particular models and makes at a given time. Try getting 30% off an in-demand Porsche Macan

        • +5

@thorton82: claiming 15% as a starting point is a blanket statement. One entirely based on the fact daddy got 30% on a Merc.

And more blanket statements about all porches buyers. Thanks for the entertainment.

        • @thorton82:

With all respect many would say this about Mercedes Benz. I think most would refer to it as a Merc over a Benz. If your not getting 30% of a poverty pack South African made Merc you may as well give up. Watch autoexpet from 2014 onwards; https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RVsmaSt8qTo

        • +3

@dandandan: Most would, but owners say Benz.

Das boot is big enough to fit 1 Clive Palmer

        • @zhenjie:

No, one based off buying many cars, from many dealers. The only time he hasn't had a significant discount on an expensive car was many years ago when the first generation X5 came out. BMW didn't negotiate much in those days, and were selling floor stock for way over RRP. You had to pay full price for a custom order, no negotiation. X5 these days sell like hot cakes and many people are getting 20% off the 3.0d (see the whirlpool thread). He couldn't get a cent of his latest car, but that's because of the sales model at the dealership.

      • You can get an idea what discounts to be had with demo prices

        CLA250 $75k drive away

Dealer were selling demo for $62k

So around 20% is a good starting point

    • +1, also it's 15% off RRP and "brand new in-stock". I'm sure that for 2 days all they have are undesirable/let over model/spec.

  • +3

    Thanks OP. Bought 2

      And you didn't leave a + vote… Sheesh!

Had the fortune to take the new R8 v10 Plus for a decent spin (6 hours!) a few weeks ago, absolute dream machine - launch control 0-100km/h in 3 seconds on a public road…15% off $480,000…makes it almost affordable.

    But I like my house…

    • The latest R8 doesn't extend on the same level of excitement delivered by its genesis. Such money is best directed toward the brilliantly designed Huracan which similarly drives on all fours and for a lesser sum.

      • Err, its the same car with a different body.

        • Err, no - mostly the opposite actually. 2017 model is 110lb lighter due to different materials used in rails, with minor style changes.
V10 plus has 60hp more than it's predecessor, fires 0-100km/h in 3.2sec official, down from 3.6sec in 2015.

Tech next to me said they have regularly recorded 2.95sec on a runway with 0km wind.

        • @phunkyfeelone:

          Rails? It's a floorpan.

And the Huracan and the R8 are the same car.

      • Here's a video showing the Huracan, a 2 seat dinosaur, getting smashed by a 7 seat Tesla Model S for less than a quarter of the price
To think that the $5M Bugatti Chiron might even struggle to beat the Tesla when it's released

    • Lol love the last bit

    • Six Hour Test Drive…..reminds me of a Seinfeld episode!

    • +1

15% saving buys a nice caravan to tow behind the R8.

    • Smashed by Tesla Model S P100DL - the quickest production car on the planet for half that price

      • Different market - the engine roar from the R8 made me giggle, it sounds like you're getting into a fast car.
The Tesla sounds like you're climbing into a fridge.

        • I am sure for the $200K in spare change you could make a fake engine roar, if that's what does for you….
As for the Tesla, at least you get an actual physical effect of your eyeballs being jammed into the back of your head….

  • +8

Given the propensity of car dealers to induce considerable damage when effecting a complementary car 'wash', I should think said 'unlimited swirl inducement' bargain is not quite the deal one expects.

  • +4

Let me know when Toyota have a 50% off sale on a Landcruiser ute

    • I think they will go up. Haha. Would also love one… last new vehicle still built with true old-school quality. I've heard ESC will be mandated on all new vehicles in 2017. Really hope the Cruiser's get an exemption. Anyways, 70 series forever! haha

      • -2

Why would you hope that a tall riding, top heavy vehicle gets an exemption from ESC?

I suppose that you don't want ABS or traction control either because it's not pure old school 4x4 and ruins a day of having your family standing around while you dig your vehicle out of the sand/mud for the umpteenth time that day… It's character building!

        • -1

If you have to ask, you won't understand. Let's just say when the next apocalypse happens it will be a Landcruiser 70 series that will be clearing the roads of all the broken down vehicles. Yee har! haha

        • -1

Diff locks are optional, as are proper mud tyres but to argue with someone as ignorant as yourself only gives creedance to your assumptions

        • -1

@Charity: Hahaha, you and beachbum are delusional. When the next apocalypse happens? There has already been one? 70 series LandCruisers were probably around at the same time. I heard Noah wrote rave reviews about them.

And ESC/ESP isn't "just another thing to break" as it is just a part of the ABS system, usually just a software programming feature. And unless there is some cataclysmic EMP event, I wouldn't be too worried about the new LandCruisers. And why would they be out clearing roads if there is nothing else to drive? Now is the time to invest in tinfoil hats and 70 series LandCruisers…

And to beachbum, you are the ignorant one. I work on 4x4 (profanity) trucks on a weekly basis. The amount of shit 4x4 guys talk about electronic features on modern 4x4 vehicles is astounding. I love selling shit to morons that they don't need because it's not "authentic" and "old school" to have ABS and traction control.

I have worked for Land Rover, Toyota and Nissan, mainly in the service of 4x4 vehicles. I have worked in aftermarket parts places for 4x4 stuff as well for the better part of the last 25 years. I work in the heart of coal mining country in NSW, I see plenty of 4x4 and their tool owners… So with my experience, I can 100% safely say that both of you guys would make great customers. No clues and buying shit you don't need. Thanks for keeping guys like me in a job! :)

      • What's ESC?

Does this come with 15% off being a ****? Definitely know a few Audi drivers who could use it.

  • Which 15% of the car have they taken off? Is it the Windows?

  • -1

    cool, I bought 6.

    • Yet you didn't upvote the deal… What's OZB coming too?

  • I read the heading too quickly and thought it was 15% off Aldi vehicles and thought, gee, these guys are really diversifying. .
I guess since the deal refers to in stock vehicles only, someone will snap them all up and have them on ebay by Monday

    • You referring to Broden?

  • +1

realistically you can prob negotiate say 10% off RRP, and with an extra 5% there just saves you the headache of negotiating.
An audi q7 start at 102k, i think getting it at 90k or slightly less depending if you add no options is an excellent price.

    • +1

Isn't that for the crappy 150kw downtuned 3.0 Diesel?

  • Take full advantage of the free carwashing at Hoppy's by popping in next door to 175 Abbotsford Road for a great deal!

  • Only 15%, you lost more than that as soon as your drive it out of the yard

  • How are these deals.

Post a link to any car makers website and say 'pro tip you can get 10+% off if you try' what a joke.

  • My friend recently bought a Q7 made to order and he got 17% off the total RRP

  • +1

Thanks OP, dinner sorted for the week.

  • Dare someone to work out some gift card offer and pay with giftcards

  • That 6 months unlimited wash kills this deal - imagine how many times you will need to wash your new car in 6 months…hmm…all that washing and polishing a freshly detailed car..hmmm ;)

  • Are offerings like Hertz 24/7, Flexicar, goget etc… are causing manufacturers and dealers go more and more competitive these days? Is this going to change the way we use cars now?

All these recent Car Deals on Ozbargain made me wonder and I found above.

    • +1

      No.

    • Car share programs are aimed at people who live in apartments and only occasionally need a car.
It will not eat into vehicle sales

  • +3

What advantages does this brand have over say….a train, which I could also afford.
