JB Hifi has had it in their catalogue for a while now at $1686:
    http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/computers-laptops/laptops/hp-…

It can be haggled further also to ~$1500.

Even better then. Get a price match, plus $60 extra

      • I guess you could price match at OW -5% which saves you another $84 which is ~$1600.

        • -2

but does OW have interest free payment plans?

        • It's $1686 at Office Works so you couldn't price match

    • motking is correct, sydney city staff will be happy to go cheaper. last i check $1500 range was possible with still more margin to go.

Not a bargain imo. Jb hi-fi and OW have it for $1686. You can haggle at JB. So buying it here, I guess you save a max of $47. Double points = $60-$13 = $47.

I'd try haggling at Jb first.

    • thats a bit harsh, you could haggle it at Myer also! + vouchers

      • +1

It's pretty much the average price. Vouchers?

        • Offer provides>6000 points, with Myer card 2000 points = $20 gift card

      • +1

I was recently told myer no longer 'haggles' or do deals. They only match competitors.

        • Officially it's always been like that.
It just depends on the management of the store.

          • @qazwsx: but Myer won't price match if it take it below their cost price

        • +6

ur kidding me right. i work there, i nearly sell at cost all the time because i dont need the commissions anymore ever since they started screwing with my shifts and miss commission payments. i dont bother trying. i just give customers cost price. manager thinks im godlike at the rate i move stock. but ive got a new manager = even less motivation to work hard. ppl were paying full price for ipads cause we were the only ones besides apple store with stock. i was like,if u were gunna pay full price why not just get it at the apple store. everyone who got it off me got 10% off. so some ended up upgrading to the next models. so dont say u cant bargain at myer, ive also done comparisons with my mates who work at jb and harveys. our cost price is lower, just that during sale time on depreciated laptops, myer doesnt adjust their cost price, so we cant move on prices that are set below cost. whereas, harveys lowers their price for depreciation and adjusts the cost price, so the salespeople can go even lower. but for brand new stock. if u dont get close to cost price, u arent trying.

@furythree: can you do my essay for me too ? :) pleasee <3

          • +1

@furythree: 10% off for ipads ? which myer do you work ? i might stop buy and get one off you :)

          • @furythree: hey furythree, happy to help us find out what the cost price is? at least this way we know how much we could realistically haggle the price?

            • -1

              @motlking: Apple retail - 10% = Cost price

              • @Wally: I wasn't talking about the iPad. Talking about the DV6-3042TX.

                Apple - 10% isn't cost btw.

          • @furythree: Furythree - I really wanna know which Myer you work at.
If you're not far, I'm happy to drive out to buy my gear from your store, with your special discount :-) !!!

            • @Zippy7: He won't do that since he can only be found out/get in trouble.

          • @furythree: Does Myer policy allow you to price match BELOW Myer's cost price?

  • Nice looking Macbook Pro… oh wait…
