FWIW - I had an issue whereby I ordered with a "guest" account and I didn't get a confirmation email. I called OW and they confirmed my order and gave me an order ID. SO whilst I was on the phone I asked them if it was a pricing error - they went off and 2mins later came back and said it was not … Gives me some hope … Let's see.

    • wtf now i regret not buying this. expected this to be an obvious pricing error!

  • +13

    Nice!
IF this deal is honoured, I will have bought this for under $5…
(Bought 5 $30 Telstra Starter Packs at $1 each ages ago, used included data & call credits, redeemed credit @ 55% of value to PayPal using app Rebatr.)
    Not holding my breath😀

    • +9

you are entitled to get OZBargain cup lol

      • +4

*Offer of OzBargain Cup 🏆 only valid with proof that deal was honoured😯

        • +1

Let us know whether it happens.

        • +2

          @PJC:
I'll complain to the ACCC if I don't get my OzBargain Cup 🏆 😯

    • Rebatr? didnt know you could convert phone credit to paypal? link?

      • Google / search OzBargain - it was new to me until recently.
Was discussed on OzBargain when the Telstra Freedom plan was scrapped. That meant no more $30 credit per starter pack & no more Play purchases with it's replacement.

I had hundreds of dollars of Telstra credit from old $1 Starter Pack deals waiting for a good use - like this.

  • Order is gone from 'My Orders' list on My Account :/

    • +3

My order never actually showed up in my account. I received an order confirmation via email and my paypal has been charged but when i check my account on the OW website there is no sign of it.

      • +1

yea me neither. I didn't have an existing account when I made the purchase, just signed up as part of the last step. Wondering if it has something to do with that?

        • +1

          exact same here

        • +1

@Name: exact same same here …

      • My order is showing as Open in my officeworks account. Got email from Officeworks (order received confirmation) and paypal. Still nothing sure.

    • Still on mine

  • too good to be true

  • +3

Just phone the Garden City store in Brisbane to check price/stock. They were unable to find this product in their system. Then called up the head office on the 1330 number and the lady on the phone sadly informed that the price was incorrect - correct price is apparently $388 from what she told me!

    So sad :(

    • Egads - that's the store I ordered c&c from 😢

      • I ordered at 11.37am

        • [Edited comment above] - original comment…
          What time was your order?

I ordered for c&c at same store at noon.
My order still is showing as "open" on their system.

        • Damn, I'm in the queue for cancellation 😱

Order is awaiting allocation, please check again later.
Order still in account 3.5 hours after order - OfficeWorks torture method #47.

      Hmm… conflicting information.

      Lemme get my popcorn XD

I'm betting on a price error though.

      • I find the franchise a little tired after so many sequels now.

I mean, how can we believe in the main character after so many ridiculous blunders in previous showings?

Time to bring the franchise to an end, if this one doesn't please the masses.

        • +3

I don't know… everyone makes mistakes, someone might be having a really bad day after this but to close OW all together seems a little extreme to me.

        • +1

          @ProjectZero:
          Sweet😀
But, not really what I was discussing. You took my comment literally, rather than metaphorically.

The comment I responded to related to the potential entertainment value of this type of deal. (I ordered but don't expect it to be honoured, so don't take it seriously like some.)

If you didn't realise after the popcorn reference, it was my lame tongue in cheek review of OfficeWorks as if it was a movie or movie character - so many (price error) sequels… referred to as a (movie) franchise.

          Probably just another stuff up.
          I'm also grabbing the popcorn😀

        • +1

@Infidel: Hahaha ops, think of me as the big guy in the "guardians of the galaxy"

      • +1

So am I. $78 for a $300+ monitor on back order … Screams PRICING ERROR. Having said that, OW did honour the pricing error on the Chromecasts last year … But the loss per item on those was minimal in comparison.

        • +1

          Hahaha fingers crossed…

        • That's what I was thinking. Bought the Chromecast at that crazy price, so some may be lucky this time😯
          Hope I'm a winner🏆.
          Now where's the popcorn?

        • +1

          @Infidel:

          How much was the CC?

        • @CVonC:
Chromecast 1 $24.50 or so last year.

  • 225+ Votes, and Counting. With the likely hood of a pricing error and canceled orders. I must be missing something when it comes to voting.

    • +1

It will be moved to the forums if it's a price error and the votes disappear.
      Thanks for sharing Op.

    • +6

OP did not have to share. Chances of OP receiving one would be much, much higher if this is indeed a price error

  • waiting for refund email with Officeworks price error policy :(

    • +21
      • +3

I did miss out lol cries Still have my fingers crossed for the rest of you!

        • +9

          😀 Dependable OzBargain 😀

As soon as a popular deal sells out come the "didn't want it anyway" comments.

When the deal fails, gloating & "told you so" from those who arrived too late or didn't order…

"I'll never shop there again" & "I'm complaining to the ACCC" from those whose orders were cancelled.

Its all part of the fun & entertainment value of OzBargain😯

        • +2

          @Infidel:

It's why this place is awesome :D Keeps things interesting

        • @cyrax83:
Help! This is too good to stop watching & I've run out of popcorn😀

        • -4

@Infidel: Didn't want it anyway. Glad it was pricing error ;-)

        • +1

          @ozmu:
I see what you did there😀

        • @Infidel: hehe

  • Oh well, missed out again!!!

    • +2

Should be able to return easily if not of good quality. But that assumes anyone gets one😯

I only want it to use as a bedroom TV after adding a PVR. HDMI swicher & Chromecast.

    • +3

and yet people are still regularly buying 55inch TV's that are 1080p
It all depends on how far you sit from the screen

    • +1

      What about for gaming?

    • +3

You sounds like a person who is trying to convince himself that it's ok that you missed out on the deal :)
I do find your statement that "1080p is way too low for 32" funny tho

      • +1

1080p on my 21" LCD Benq monitor is fine, the 32" 1080p would be a luxury and also good for old eyes like mine who cannot read small print on a 21" screen a metre or so away on the other side of the desk.

      • -2

It is if you are using as a monitor and will be sitting any closer than 1m, as a TV sure. 24/25 inches is as large as you want to go at 1080p. 27/32 inches 2k is the go. @40/43 inches 4k is the sweet spot. Oh and I don't need convincing I have my beautiful korean monitors for eye candy:40" 4k as my main monitor and a 27" 2k in portrait mode ;)

        • +2

thank you for telling me what I like and how well my eyes can see

        • -1

your welcome, Actually was replying to sushiyasha's comment…don't go blind now

  • +1

anyone got their order processed or even refunded yet ???

    • I've got my order confirmation email and tax invoice from OW and the PayPal receipt came through not long ago. It's also appearing as an order in my OW account.

      • Same. OW invoice arrived at 12.07pm and Paypal invoice arrived at 12.49pm

      • You've received the tax invoice!
Still can be cancelled after that, but promising.

    • Still not in my OW Orders, but I just got my PayPal receipt!

      • may be your order is also is selected for review as mine is, they will manually review the order and then will accept / reject it

    • My 2nd order was processed and I was charged but I never received the email confirmation.
When I called them yesterday to ask why no email, they said order was flagged by security team and it was cancelled. I will receive refund in next 24 - 48 hrs.
So no email confirmation either way.

My first order did get an email confirmation and I was charged, but clearly that doesn't mean anything.

      • And I now have a refund for that 2nd order. No word on the 1st order though.

  • +4

yeah 3.5 hours after receiving my officeworks confirmation I have just received my PayPal receipt so not sure still

  • +2

Mine is still listed as open, my card has been charged… hmm the thrill of the wait!!

  • +2

Seems like I'm unable to add it to my cart?

    • +2

      Yeah the deal is expired.

  • +2

Price now showing as N/A. Ah well, sadly too good to be true.

  • +8

I'm really hoping some of you get a $78 monitor. I had plenty opportunity to pull the trigger but I had no faith (despite previous experience - https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/46870/40868/img_201607…).

  • +3

Ordered 2, 1 click and collect and one delivered will see what happens

    • +3

      i did the same :)

  • +1

paid with CC and ordered 3 about midday.(took a few goes to go through) collect in store. lets see what happens lol

  • +2

Has anyone actually picked up a monitor yet, not just waiting for delivery or confirmation to pick up?

    • +1

LOL I want to know even I missed the deal.

    • I'm with you- has anyone actually ventured into store to get their C&C order?

      • +1

Orders have always stated a delivery date of around 2-3 weeks, certainly not available now

        • Ahh right, so that's for the C&C orders as well? I thought it would have just been delivery ones..?

        • Huh? Do you mean even for people who have chosen "click and collect" option, they still cannot go to their selected store and pick up this monitor, instead they have to wait for 2-3 weeks? That doesn't make sense. Does it mean Officeworks don't even have any stock and buyers have to wait for 2-3 weeks for stock to be delivered to the store? If no stock, why should Officeworks advertise the item in the first place?

        • @edfoo:

Yes, that's exactly what it means, and the site always stated that timeframe. It likely means they're on order, and no stock in warehouses. You can still 'collect', but not till they get the stock (if they honour it at all).

        • +1

          @edfoo:
Ordered 1. In my c&c order details on OW account under quantity…
          Ordered: 1
          On BackOrder: 1
          Estimated delivery: 10 - 14 Days

        • @edfoo:
          how old are you?

        • @gimme: Why? Sounds too young or too old?

        • @Spackbace: Thanks for clarifying. So it's possible they could make us wait a year for stock to arrive.

        • @edfoo:

Sounds like someone who hasn't read the description on the website prior to ordering. The lead time would have been shown right under the 'click and collect' and 'deliver to door' boxes. Anyway moot point as the whole thing was obviously a pricing error.

        • @gimme: You are right, I didn't read the description on the website prior to ordering because I didn't order one, it's actually my sister who ordered one yesterday. Happy? Were you asking for my age so you can insult me?

  • +6

Bought 2 of these on the weekend from MSY @ $299 each

Didn't realize my existing 24" monitors (one died, which is why i replaced it, and they have to be the same!) were actually 1980 * 1200, so my new, 8 inch larger monitors, have a smaller resolution and fit less :(

However, they are still massive, and pretty good for the price compared to other's in the same size & resolution category….

although not as good as $78 :>o

    https://imgur.com/a/ROwQ8

    • +6

Just sit a bit further away from this 31.5" monitor and it will look as sharp as your previous 24" monitor :)

    • 32" for 1080p sounds terrible, even 27" really need 1440p, 32 need 4k

      • Yeah pretty poor res for the size. I'm thinking a good use for this would be mounting it on a wall and using it for a home automation dashboard to look at from a distance. It is IPS (good viewing angle) and has vesa wall mount.

      • +1

I'd say it depends on what you are going to use it for… If you are planning on using it as a TV (i.e. you won't be up close with the monitor) 1080p would be ok…

If you're like me and plan on using this as a monitor… than you're gonna have a problem… but for $78 and if it does come, all I will say to that issue is "meh"

        • If this pans out, I'm planning to use it as a TV. Have a Telstra box as PVR/Tuner sitting around doing nothing :)

        • @Spackbace: hahaha yeah that would be ideal for this size and resolution…

        • Exactly. If you buy the monitor for $299 yeah you can whinge about the "low" resolution, but for only $78 you better shut up and put up with it :)

        • @Spackbace:
My dream too - adding PVR, Chromecast, & HDMI switcher. Works well on a 24" HD monitor at moment for small bedroom.

    • +2

Love the WoW on 1 screen, ozbargain on the other :D

      • priorities, amirite? :)

  • +3

    WIsh I had gotten one!!!

    • +6

Everyone who bought this has the same thought atm ;-)

      • -5

Officeworks should honor the sale. They are shit, but they need to be fair.

        • -1

They should but it doesn't mean they have to or will.
