Haha trade your old game for the same one but new?

I guess if you had a heaps scratched Red Dead Redemption Disc, you could trade it in for UFC 2010 and then trade it back again for Red Dead Redeption without as many scratches.

    …Interesting Trade though…

    • You obviously haven't traded games before…

    • If they let you trade a scratched game, you will most probably get an even more scratched game in return…

      • Isnt't this for new?

        • Yep - brand new

  • what the weird deal

  • sounds like a real good deal. heaps of older games for a RDD??

does anyone know when this promotion ends?

i wonder if it'll be possible to do a swap of a wii game like mariokart for ps3 RDD….. :)

if i was in australia right now i'd go check but i'm overseas till next week. crap

    • Yeah I believe you can swap across platforms…check the Ecogamer link for comments about that ; )

Not sure when the deal ends though.

      • looking for someone on ecogamer to answer to the question on whether GAME will take a UK copies to trade…. interesting deal though

        • GAME doesn't accept overseas copies.
I got Red Dead Redemption trading Modern Warfare 2 over the weekend, lucky my brother who works at JB got me a used Modern Warfare 2 for $45 for me to trade saving of $50 is good for me.

          • @RoninTenkai: i've been trying to find a CoD MW2 for less than 50bucks but even ebay is selling them for around 60.

I think you should keep mario kart and trade something else for the other game. I've always regretted losing my old nintendo games.

  • Shame I cant trade UK version.. buy for $45, trade for RDR! WIN.

Also, nearest GAME is 2.5 hours away..

  • Hmm if I trade one of these games in, do they give me a brand new version of the other game??

I did a PS3 game trade in last Saturday via this deal and I can confirm that they give a brand new version of the game.

@lindiwei: You should be able to trade UK PAL version games in unless the GAME stores in your state have different terms and conditions to the ones in Perth. The game I traded in on Saturday was a UK version and I have traded other UK games in the past at GAME without any probs.

      • i'm not sure cos some people have tried and have apparently been rejected as well and i was thinking of buying a cheaper version overseas n trading it in here but don't wanna end up getting stuck with it if it doesnt work! oh well.. i'm in adelaide so i'll have to find out

      • im pretty sure the uk versions are the same appart from the ocassional cover art difference

  • I got UFC 2010 from trading lost planet 2

got LP2 from big w for $68 so i saved a bit for not doing too much….

$40 nier from ebay trade in for Red Dead Redemption !
    nice deal

  • Swapped RDR (PS3) for Alan Wake (xbox) the other day. Great stuff.

  • Nice. I don't play MW2 anymore i might trade it in for RRD.

  • Confirming that you can trade in a 2nd hand game for a new one.

Traded in my old copy of MW2 for a new copy of RDD at Eastgardens this morning.

Just gotta wait until my "R&R" long weekend with the gf to be over before I can fire up the PS3!

  • Thanks heaps!
Traded in my copy of MW2 that I bought on release for ~$73.

Got RDR and ordered a new copy of MW2 for $45 shipped from 365games.

    Yay.

  • Traded MW2 (bought in the 'States almost a year ago for $59) for a brand new, cellophane wrapped Red Dead Redemption marked for $109. What a stellar deal.

EDIT: Just a heads up if you don't happen to have a game on this list. I believe it was Splinter Cell Conviction that was on sale at Big W for $64 dollars, which would make it a prime candidate for this trading special. Most of the other games are still $75-79 at Big W and EB Games, but still obviously worth the trade for a new $109 game.
