I have one of these, well worth the money and free map updates when you register, good support forum too. Lots of car GPS on special lately all over the place, this is one of the best value you will find!
NOTE: the cheaper ones available are usually 3.5 model not 4.3

  • no price >.<

  • Put the price in the title.
    $99.98
    RRP $229.95

Anyway, I wouldn't personally buy this as I don't like cheap GPS units. However cheapest on ebay is $129 plus $19 postage so seems to be an ok deal

  • please provide price as well as shipping cost in the title ..

    $99.98 for the product
$14.98 for shipping anywhere in the country <— really expensive for a GPS unit!

  • Good deal but was $49 at NH a few months back and $68 at NH and orificeworks. I have one of these and have iGO running on it nicely.

  • This is a small and very plastic unit. The GUI seems built on another OS rather than the custom bigger name brands - ie you have to choose to load the navig8r software. Once in, it requires pressing ‘ok’ after selections. The maps are very basic and there are little options. There is no ‘home’ setting, no way I can see to change voices. I tried it on a short trip and the speech seems to cut out. It didnt like me deviating and didnt recalculate.
On the +ve side, it does have spoken street names and speed alerts. It also seems to promise free map updates - though I dont know whether this is just some form of minor corrections only.
Wouldnt pay $99 for this one. In fact it is probably only worth the $50-60 we paid.

    • I had a play with the 3.5" version recently. The software was very basic.
I programmed a route and there was

      1) no way to get a list of the chosen route.
      2) choose an alternative route or
      3) avoide part of the route.
      4) choice of quickest or shortest route.

Basically you had to accept whatever route was chosen even if you know it was not the best route to take.

Not the most user friendly software either.

  • yeah it's basically a yum cha no name GPS

however i don't think the software is as bad as you say… never had much issues that i didn't also see in Igo or Garmin or Navman etc…

And you can always put your own software on these.

  • Personally, I wouldn't spend too much on a GPS unit. I recently bought a generic 4.3 inch unit off Ebay for $80 delivered and I'm quite happy with it - it looks just as good as any brand ones and does everything you'd expect from a GPS unit and more.

  • The arrival times on this GPS are very ambitious at times

  • Do anyone know the new RTA speed cam install in the intersetion to check both red light and speeding ? Are they start using in any location yet. I ask the taxi driver 2 month ago and he said not yet. How do we know and can any GPS know these 2 function cam from the screen?

    • Yes they are in several areas, cant find the email with the locations but they are out there

  • with the latest updates you are notified of combined speed/red light cams

  • +1

You can use Ozexplorer maps and all sorts of other functions such as change voice (even use your own!) with several mods available. Check and read through the community forums http://www.navig8r.com.au/m35/navig8r_club/default.asp for all sorts of info. My first one was a G35 replaced with updates and the support was excellent. I am not an experienced off-roader or GPS user but have mates who are and they were surprised by this for the money. They have ALL had problems with one device or another it seems, including far more expensive models! I posted this as good value, and hold to that. It does recalculate and as far as I can tell has all the usual functions and more flexibility than some. And different to what was said above, you can choose, shortest/quickest routes.
