Nulon 5L Full Synthetic Oil Varieties + Octane Booster + Injector Cleaner + Oil Tray $50 with Free Shipping @ Sparesbox

810

Really good deal, for example:

The 5W-30 Euro is $70 by itself at Supercheap, $7 for the injector cleaner, $15 for the octane booster.

The oil tray is probably only worth a few bucks and shipping a bottle of oil is usually $20+ by itself as well.

I just put it all in my cart at Supercheap but selected a smaller (cheaper) oil tray, with shipping the total is $123.67

Hi, my first post, but you can use promo code S7C8T3U for a further $10 off. Not sure how long the code is valid for

    • +2

Thanks mate! At which stage do I enter the code?

It's okay - found it. I'm a muppet. Thank you though!

      Cheers, I've updated the deal.

    Amazing deal OP.

Thank you. Just saved me a heap of cash on my next oil change.

  • +3

Don't forget cashrewards for another 6.4% off

    Thanks OP

And for those that go to their dealer for servicing, keep in mind that they are obliged to use your oil (and in fact any other parts like oil filters) if you so choose. Often ends up being better quality oil/filter and much cheaper too. Only learned this a couple of years ago and have saved many $ as a result.

    • +6

Nope, they're not obliged to do anything. The individual dealer would do it for customer service reasons. They not even obliged to serve you in the first place if they don't want to.

      • Hmm I've been told otherwise and have several dealers do it for me. Of course, if get refuse you go elsewhere.

        • pmupsinep is right, they are not obliged to do anything.

However, I can't recall any dealer refusing to use the parts you use as long as it meets the required specs- in particular oil specs for Euro cars.

It's unlikely that any aftermarket oil filter will be better than OEM, cheaper yes, same quality? Maybe. Better? Unlikely.

  • What's the difference between the normal 'long life' 5-30 and the 'euro' 5-30?

Edit - the 'Euro' is grade A3/B4, not sure what the 'long life' is.

    • +1

Couldn't figure it out either. Went to Nulon website and just stuck with the one that has my Vehicle manufacturer listed under "Suitable for use in the following manufacturers"

      Long Life:
      http://www.nulon.com.au/products/Full_Synthetic_Engine_Oils/…

      Euro:
      http://www.nulon.com.au/products/Full_Synthetic_Engine_Oils/…

    • +1

Euro is Group IV, which is high grade oil (because their oil changes are 15,000km)
Rest are likely Group III - still synthetic, but not real synthetic.

      • Ah good then. I guessed that the euro stuff would be higher grade and took the plunge. Addes some slotted rotors and wiper blades too. I guess the promo worked.

      • Can we use euro than rather than long life even nulon web recommend long life for ford territory

        • Whats most important is changing your oil often, and on time. Ask your local mechanic, but As long as its similar weight and viscosity, it should be just fine.

  • Which oil is good for motorcycle pls?

    • +1

None. Go buy some Castro 4t (I'm assuming it's a 4 stroke) when supercheap has a sale. The only thing you should use from this deal on a motorbike is the oil pan.

    • +2

or get something like this using the code "oils" for free shipping on oils and filters

    • Depends on the bike but most would be happy with 10 or 15W-40 diesel oil, fraction of the price of bike specific oils and basically the same thing. Currently using Penrite HPR Diesel 10 on my GS500 and it seems very happy with it.

      • i am using penrite for my bike at the moment too, following many guys' suggestion.

  • No LPG oil :(

    • +1

the long life 5W-30 says it is LPG compatible

    • My last LPG car which I owned for 12 years was always run using regular oil, with no ill effects.
YMMV but it should be fine to just run the same oil as the non-LPG version of your car uses.

  • This is a GREAT deal, bought 2 for $90. Thanks OP.

    • which one you bought?

      • Nulon 5W30 Diesel Full Synthetic Engine Oil Package, the non-Euro one.

        • thanks, the code doesn't work for petrol engine maybe only diesel engine

  • WOW great deal but the $10 promo code not works

    • I used the code less than an hour ago, works fine.

      • Not working for me either :(

      • It applied in checkout, showed $40, but upon purchase the confirmation e-mail showed $50. I have e-mailed sparesbox about this but I would advise anyone purchasing to screenshot the cart with $40 shown (and share it here in case SB decides to not refund us for the mistake).

        • I tried the code too just to check and it appears not to work for me as well, I edited the post to reflect the changes.

        • You had me worried so I checked my email confirmation from both Sparesbox and PayPal. Confirmed code is good and PayPal showed $90.

Thanks peeps. Needed 8.5l for my v8. Very happy.

  • Dammit no love to 0W40 Full Synth???

  • +4

Hi guys, "PAYLESSER10" works for purchases over $60 if you wanna add something worth ten bucks to the order.

  • Damn was too late for the code. Very hard to buy without that code now.

  • +2

There was a recent deal of $3.94 for 5 litres of fully synthetic engine oil.

Yet this deal now gets more votes?

An oil pan and injector cleaner aren't worth much more than $10, and if the octane booster is $15, then the oil is still 6 times the price of the pervious dral.

    • I guess the other nulon is semi synthetic

  • I have ford territory petrol and nulon web said long life rather than euro. Just wondering if i can use euro version rather than long life

  • +1

    Wasn't this $40 yesterday?

    • Yes, there was a $10 off code in the description which was edited (yesterday) to say it's no longer working before you posted this.

  • Nulon make very good oil, and is Australian too.

This is good deal for 5W30 Engine Oil Full Synthetic Euro 5L: Engineered to meet strict VW Standard 504.00 and 507.00 for VW, Audi and Skoda pretol and diesel vehicles

I would buy it, but my VW GTI burns too much oil, so I switched to 5W40.

    • My GTI burns oil at an astounding rate also. How does 5W40 help?

      • 5W30 is thinner than 5W40 when hot.

As it's thicker, it's less likely to burn/pass the pistons.

At cold temp, i.e. start up, they are as thin as each other so you will get the same cold engine lubrication.

The 5W40 oil I use still meets VW specs- 502/505. Not 504/507 which is long life oil, i.e. up to 25,000 in between services. If I drove 25,000km there will be no oil left, so long life is useless to me! lol

My GTI is a MkV that has done 130k, yours?

        • MkV at around 90K.

Burns at a rate of around 2-3 litres every 10K.

I'll try that trick with 5W40. Thanks!

        • @foggy10:

          2-3L per 10K isn't so bad.

I use to be concerned about it, but it's not uncommon, so it doesn't bother me anymore.

I just top mine up every 3,000km, seems to be slightly better with 5W40. 5W40 is cheaper also.

  • PAYLESSER10 doesn't work anymore :(

    • It appears they cancelling the codes so they can't be stacked with this deal.

  • 5W20 seems better deal for my Corolla 2013 Hatchback according to Nulon Website…

  • Doesn't seem to work for me but not surprised. I've bought from them before and they've sent the wrong thing. Another time they said they had an item in stock but didn't. Store's been pretty unlucky for me -_-

    • What isn't working? The prices are fixed at $50, you can't checkout or something?

      • Initial one was referring to the code stacking
