    They dont sell whisky?

    • or beer

      • +9

There's nothing so lonesome, so morbid or drear…

  • +17

    these are my suggested wines

besides paying for delivery, buy one of these single bottles to help meet AmEx's minimum $120 spend requirement

    don't forget 8% cashback @ Cashrewards :)

    • +2

      Thanks tonester!
Can you recommend any pinot noirs?

      • Sorry, they have/had nothing none I'd recommend, though i would've suggested the now sold-out Pinot Masterclass if you were keen for some

    • Bought the GB .. great deal, thank you OP

    • don't forget 8% cashback @ Cashrewards

Cashrewards tracks at the full price (before the $100 off) ….. so at least $16….nice bonus.

  • +5

Just be aware that AMEX offer requires min. $120 spend.

    • +1

Great pickup and added to description. Thank you.

  • Can anyone recommend one of their champages for me? Thanks in advance!

  • Wow, thanks TA!!!

  • Can someone confirm stacking coupons. Got a coupon otherday in mail ??

    • Heh, let us know how it goes?

    • You can't. Only allows one code at a time - have to remove one to try another.

  • Is the final spend before or after you get the AmEx cash back?

    • Amex is cashback i.e. after spend. So the discount will be before Amex cashback.

  • Thanks ta and thanks tonester for the recommendations!

  • +2

Only wines? They don't sell cognac? Was gonna get a few bottles of VSOP.

  • To also take advantage of Amex offer, we have to spend $220 ($220 - 100 = $120 ?)???

    • +2

      Yes. Please read the description.

      • Maybe put in the description Spend $220 and get $120 Off with Amex Offer?

  • Will I get the amex cash back if my order is $210?

    • Doesn't seem like it babe. Read OPs note in post.

    • Basically you HAVE to pay at least $120 on your Amex. If you don't pay that much then you dont get the Amex cashback. Simple.

  • Thanks OP just spent $120.80.

  • +1

Can you stack Cashrewards with this offer?

    • Sure can :)

    • Yes it should work. However I haven't received tracking email form cashrewards yet, sometimes it takes a few hours to arrive. The Amex confirmation email has arrived though.

      • Have a look at your Cash Rewards 'click history' as that may give you confidence.

        • Thanks! However I think the history option is not available on the mobile site?

        • @jnbluv2h:
Update: just received email confirmation from cashrewards. 8% applied to the value before the $100 voucher.

  • Anyone in Casey area in Melbourne wants to share the deal? Looking to buy another case of Sparkling Spring however can't find another different case that seems appealing to me…PM me if you are interested. :-)

  • Any X-perts out there please? I need selection recommendations otherwise '$220 retail price total' is a big gamble on wines that I don't know.

    • well technically its only $120 that you are gambling on wines you don't know. As that's the momentary loss to you if you choose the wrong ones…. but you should read some of the other comments above which provides some insight into which ones are good.

    • +1

Look for the ones with awards, then pick those without

    • did you miss this comment?

  • Nothing with a case of beer?

  • +3

Everything is out of stock and they don't tell you until you click to pay.
    THis is crap.

    • Yep even rang them up and asked them is there anyway to tell if any of your products are out of stock before you checkout, which he replied "it shouldnt be on there if its out of stock… that's very strange". Anyways i've managed to place an order, by just selecting wines that do not have "hurry, limited stock" underneath them.

      • Yeah, those hurry limited stock were the best ones! free case of coronas or free glasses!
ugh… I think I've found some other wines which I'll try.. The deal is still sweet!….as long as I'm one of the first 10000 to use an Amex card…

BTW I'd recommend the De Bortoli Deen Vat Series No 5 Botrytis Semillon (375ml) 2009 if you like the sweet stuff….

        • I think that once your registration of the Amex has been accepted, then you are ok. The only hurry is to order before the expiry date.

  • +1

ughh why is this place only wine. I want some whisky

Anything to buy for someone who doesnt drink alcohol?

    • You can buy Riedel glasses…. but they are wine glasses….
You could always use them for non-alcoholic wines from Coles hahah

      • You can swirl non-alcoholic drinks in Riedel (and probably other glasses) to release aromatic chemicals (according to someone I spoke with).

  • +3

1 x La Vendetta Veneto Pinot Grigio 2015 (6 pack)
1 x Cape Campbell Marlborough Pinot Noir 2013 (12 pack)

    Total= $231.34 (inc handling fee)

    Less $100= $131.34
    Less $20 Amex offer= $111.34
    Less 8% Cashrewards based on initial amount= $100.83 ($111.34-$131.34*0.08)

    Brings it to ~$5.60 a bottle… winning.

    • But how do they taste?

      • Buy first taste later.

I generally stick to grapes I like, once you do that, you tend to be ok…

        • They have a 100% money back guarantee

        • i know nothing about wine. when you say you stick to grapes you like, do you just pick a favourite region/winery and then get whatever wines come from there?

        • Grape types examples for Red: Shiraz, Malbec, Pinot Noir, Merlot

I'm a Pinot Noir fan so generally stick to that and find very little difference in the same class of grapes

    • noob question, how do you get the cashrewards 8% if you pay by amex and not the giftcard?

edit: dont worry worked it out.

  • pity they don't have the wine + beer combos

  • +2

Can't help but wonder how massive the profit margins must be if they can afford to do this.

  • Thanks for the post, I was needing to feed my current sparkling wine habit. The Premium Australian Sparkling mixed dozen is a bargain at $103 for pickup at BWS, it features some cold climate Tassie sparkling, woohoo!

  • -2

    Woolworths - the exploitative people.

They love sucking people into their giant web of gambling and booze. Then as lives are destroyed they are set to profit from the introduction of Centrelink's BasicsCards anyway.

Fortunately Randwick Council rejected Woolies' application for a Dan Murphy's in Coogee.

    Carry on…

    • +3

Geez if you didn't like the deal you could have just voted neg and moved on.

      • -3

But it really is an amazing deal. Maybe not for families that are victims of alcohol-related violence (sadly, I know/knew a lot). You'll never see Cellar Masters owner (Woolworths) handing out $100 in supermarket vouchers for $200 in spend.

I'm just here to push my anti-gambling, anti-alcohol-dependence, corporate responsibility agenda because it's a popular deal that may get a few readers. It sure is easier than standing outside Town Hall with placards.

        • +1

havent seen you at town hall..

    • +1

Peter! Have you been eating those magic pumkins again??!!

  • All the wines that I've reviewed (Chardonnay) that Dan Murphy's stocks as well are up to more than double the price at Cellar Masters. Not worth it, even with Amex promo.

  • is this code valid only once per account, or can I do multiple orders?

    • +1

I made two orders under the same account and the code was fine…..thinking about a third now!

  • well, they dont sell penfolds…

  • Have stocked up on some Rose and now looking to stock up some more.. can the WIne experts advise if Rose wines should have a "drink until" date. The Drink Until date is blank in the Notes section for some of the Rose I am looking to buy… cheers

    • Depends a lot on the Rose— if it's good now, you'll likely get a few years out of it (our Rose is a 2012 and is still brilliant- we're just about to start selling current vintage). On the other hand, if it's rubbish now, no amount of time will help it :)

Can anyone get click and collect search to work?

    • Seems to be broken.

Pretty poor design when their POS process relies on it. Has probably cost them my (heavily discounted) business.

  • Click & collect not working for anyone else?

    • it's not working for me either :(

  • Click and collect 'conveniently' not working for me either. What a joke

    • +2

It's because they are out of google maps api lookups for today (probably due to the popularity of this deal), javascript console says:

"You have exceeded your daily request quota for this API. For more information on usage limits and the Google Maps Javascript API services please see:"

ie they haven't paid google enough money :P

  • Anyone else having trouble setting the Pickup store? I typed in the postcode but nothing appears!!!

    • i'm having the same problem as well. Was anyone able to get around this?

      • +1

Have just called their call center - click collect is broken and they are "fixing" it.

        • Yeah just did was going to post on here but it seems you beat me to it

    • Yes tried in both IE Edge and Chrome. Guess I will check back later but no sale if not C&C.

    • Worked for me earlier, using firefox and enabling flash.

    • Seems to be fixed now

  • +2

Enjoy the endless harrassment from this mob after you make your first order. Probably better not to put your mobile number in..

They will call you every day if you do. Had to block them.

  • There is a lot of cheap quaff at cellarmasters but if you are looking for quality they have the 2014 Grant Burge Filsell Shiraz for $210 per 6 pack. With the $100 off plus 8% cash rewards it works out at about $18 per bottle, compared to $31.35 at Dan Murphys. You can also add a $20 bottle from the bonus offers to get the total over $120 and get the $20 amex offer too.

    • Was eyeing the wolf bless. Only found its sold out whilst paying.

      • Yeah that happened to me with my first order, but luckily it was only the bonus bottle I selected not the Filsell. I picked a different bonus bottle and it went through. It is an annoying feature of the website that it makes you go right through the payment process before telling you something is out of stock.

  • Awesome deal OP, thanks! Got a $230 bundle for ~$130 with coupon, plus $20 back with AMEX, plus 8% cashback. Many Christmas gifts sorted, and money saved…! :)

    • 130 ? isn't it 100 off ?

      • +2

        He means $230 - $100 = $130 balance left after the coupon.

        • Yep, that's right. The tilde "~" was to indicate "approximately".

  • can you top up with a giftcard or anything?

    • Last time when paying with a giftcard it would use the entire amount of the giftcard then charge the remainder to the credit card. So if your after the amex deal you would need a giftcard with a balance less than the amount over $120.

  • It's just giving me a credit card invalid message when trying to pay with my AMEX. Frustrating! Had it down to about 3.90 per bottle with all the discounts. Any ideas?

Tried with two different NAB AMEX cards, both enrolled in deal - no luck…

    • I get the same error. So annoying…

    • If you get the error, make sure your name is correct.
E.g. your billing /shipping address name is the card name. Thats how I fixed mine.

    • I seem to be having the same issues and my billing address matches :(, so frustrating

    • Ended up emailing them and they said there was an intermittent error on the website which they were working to fix. Will try again later.
