woah 6gb ram. Can it run crisis?

  • Confused. i thought this had the Snappy 821? ( https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-3-Deluxe-ZS570KL/ )

    Description on eglobal as well:
ZenFone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) debuts several meaningful world firsts. It is the world’s first smartphone with an aluminum alloy unibody featuring an invisible-antenna design. Inside, ZenFone 3 Deluxe is the world’s first smartphone to use the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 821 processor which is paired with an Adreno™ 530 GPU. Storage-wise, it is the world’s first phone to offer a massive 6GB of RAM combined with 256GB of UFS 2.0 memory. It raises the bar for mobile photography with world’s first smartphone to use Sony’s latest IMX318 sensor with its world’s highest 23-megapixel resolution for a smartphone.

    • Only the 256gb version has the snapdragon 821

      • ahh cool thanks mate!

    $700….wow

  • If only it were Dual Active.

And it seems that the second SIM will be only 2G.

    • Yes it is. Second sim is on 3G for phone call and sms only.

      • Is this 4g for one SIM and 3G or 2G die the other?

        • +1

Yes. You choose one sim to use Data so the sim will be on 4G and another will be at 3g to receive phone call and sms only. This setup is manual so you have your control to what sim you want use for data.

@claud0902: Thank you. I know there aren't too many phones that do 4/3 at the moment and with Telstra switching off on Dec 1, it may be important for some people

        • @claud0902: Have you bought this phone and tested yourself? Screenshot? I've not seen this work where 2nd SIM isw confirmed to be on 3G band. The specs on GSM arena are not correct.

        • @roosta:

Please check the wiki from whirlpool

        • @claud0902: I'm yet to see his in action, or verify the effect of sim 2 3g voice becoming active, what that does with SIM 1. Do you own any one of those phones?

        • @roosta:

I have Zenfone 3, not the deluxe. It works on 4g/3g. The second sim can be setup up as 3g only (no 2g).

        • @claud0902: Thanks for confirming. You'd think the more expensive deluxe version has NFC. A common feature in 2014+ smartphones, yet missing from the 5.5 and 5.7" deluxe versions. 1 of the main features I need and its put me off Asus…I'm now suck looking at LG, but praying they can be rooted.

  • If they put a decent battery in it, I would buy this phone.

    • xiaomi mi5s plus is out in china tomorrow
      better battery (3800mAh)
      similar specs as asus

        No band 28 though. Dealbreaker.

          Yep, this.

I love my Asus zenfone but seriously not at that price.

  • price seems pretty farcical, especially when you consider it's predecessor cost about half as much….

  • turned a bit off asus with their tardy update to marshmallow.

then again just about every vendor is the same. they at least provide the monthly security patches.
