Its that time of year again..
NBA League Pass is open again for 2016-2017!

You can sign up locally for a pretty un-ozbargain $330, or you can sign up via a VPN to Canada for under $150
Ever so slightly cheaper via some other countries, but Canada is the easiest when it comes to VPN options

Getflix VPN works, but other ways to 'be' in Canada involve

    Used Opera, but even after I changed to the Canada VPN, it's still showing me the $330 AUD price? any ideas what I need to do now?

    edit: cleared my cache and it's working again.

    Found that using the US proxy on Opera gives me $146 AUD (of course it all depends on the exchange rate anyway)

    I have a problem. I cant watch using my apple TV. I was auto-subscribed to NBA League pass Canada and they charged me for AUD$150+.

    It says "RESTRICTED CONTENT" and when I looked into the blackouts they say they wont show NBA TV live for Canada subscribers as they show them on Canada TV.

    I am in Sydney btw.

      NBA does not show the pre-season games on apple tv, only devices (ipad, laptop etc). Weird I know but they have been doing this for ages.

    goto LP and try to buy the package at 149.99 CAD – fine

    Click to use Paypal – fine BUT then it Paypal asks me to enter my credit card details, when I already have an account with them.

    Shouldnt need to enter the CC details again should I ? Thats the point of Paypal.

    Just bought it and tried watching the preseason game between GSW & TOR and got the message "this game is currently not available in your location" while the DAL & NOP said "preseason game not televised". I'm from Australia, anyone else getting the same messages?

    Thanks OP probably the best OB purchase for me ever, only because I'm a massive NBA fan. I've been wanting to do NBA league pass for a long time but not at $330 but with a price that most of the world are paying this was a must have. I used the Opera option and used my AUS billing address and the purchase was done without a hitch for $148.

      Just used a Opera with VPN to Canada and got it for $149 CAD ~ $155 AUD.

      Make sure you select the click on the VPN button and set your virtual location to Canada.

      If that does not work try clearing out your cookies history etc.

        whew! got it at $149 now…before I had a chance to clear my cache/cookies etc…it had shown as $149 all of a sudden, I am thinking it is because when I tried last night, i was using my home wifi (same wifi I was using the past 2 night when I was debating on getting the subscription, but never proceeded)….then this morning, I tried again using the same laptop, but my internet connection was via my office Telstra mobile wifi dongle…(I guess that cleared the cache?)

        thanks again! (i lost some sleep last night since I thought I missed it! :-)

    I just used opera with VPN enabled and set to Canada as advised. Selected British Pounds currency instead and paid using PayPal and was charged $145.35 :)

    Tried to sign up twice this week. I login to PayPal but get a message saying that my account isn't recognized and that it needs to SMS me something to verify the account. Anyone else run into this issue.

    FYI i use express vpn through india and got $149 - was a little worried about potential canadian blackouts for raptors games - im a celtic fan so could potentially miss out on a few games anyway…

    i did a bunch of tests and the following came out - (ive used india, guatemala and columbia for the past few years)

    mexico - $172
    malaysia - $168
    south korea - $277
    peru - $193
    columbia - $178
    chile - $215
    guatemala kept diverting to chile
    uzbekistan would not work
    india - $149

    anyway canada / india have fun :D

      Blackouts won't effect aus. Once purchased it doesn't matter where from. It bases on where the app is being used (had league pass for years never been effected apart from when i was in America and it had a blackout)

      No, works for me just fine. It's possibly a caching issue - clear your entire browsing history if you haven't already, otherwise just use the Opera browser VPN method and see if that works?

    for those noobies like me. I used opera, paypal got locked so I used my CC. Put in a random Canada address. Works.
