Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter - $38.40 @ JB Hi-Fi

100

Not as good as the previous deal with The Good Guys but if you missed this like I did and are after a bluetooth adapter to get those monster mash tunes pumping over Halloween, this price isn't bad!

Some feedback - I thought this would be awesome to plug my headphones into - to make them wireless.

They are not - they don't output enough power to do that. Even basic apple earphones struggle on it as soon as there are some low frequency notes.

For playing out of speakers that are active - they are good.

uh, that would be because that is not the purpose of this device…

it does not have an amplifier (hence why no volume control), it provides a line level signal (line-out).

"Works with PC speakers, Home Stereo Systems & AV Receivers" (ie. devices that contain an amplifier)

      • I beg to disagree. I have to crank up my amp really high to get a decent volume. The line out signal level is low but other than that it works really well.

        • well, i haven't tested the output myself, so you may be indeed correct. but that just emphasises my point! (ie. this devices outputs a line-level or indeed lower-than-line-level signal, not an amplified signal, and therefore is not suited to directly powering headphones!)

Another problem I found when using it to stream from PC > Amp was pausing the video causes the bluetooth link to drop.

Thanks for posting the deal OP.

This is awfully bulky and expensive compared to the many usb-powered bluetooth receiver dongles on ebay etc.

Is there anything special about the logitech?

    • +1

      Nope.

I bought an Avantree Saturn for 35 bucks or so. It transmits and recieves audio via bluetooth aptx and is a bit larger than a 50 cent piece. It powers itself using an inbuilt battery.

I attached them to some Monoprice headphones using velco and a 3 inch 3.5mm cord to make them Bluetooth which was very courageous.

      • Where did you get the Avantree for $35? Please post bargain.

  • I use mine with headphones as I lost my lifeproof case headphone adapter

    • How if I may ask? This device required a power adapter.

MSY currently selling it for $35. Link here. Got Officeworks to price match it to make the price even lower. Agreed with above comments, nothing special with this other than it can connect to two devices at the same time. The sound quality is just on ok level. With this price, maybe would be better to get Chromecast Audio instead.

Just be careful when you're on the dunny watching questionable videos… and you forget its connected to your bedroom speakers.

  • Think most OzBargainers got a $25 store credit from The Good Guys, making this $25:

    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/logitech--bluetooth-audio-ada…

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/259867

    • Its 49.95.. how can you make it to 50?

      • Turns out there isn't a minimum spend of $50 for that store credit deal, so you can apply it to the adapter as is, but if for whatever reason that is no longer the case / they closed that loop, there are plenty of things for a dollar or two that you can add to get it over $50.

Decent product, but one of the really annoying 'features' is that it always tries to reconnect to the phone. If you manually disconnect the adapter, it will reconnect shortly after.

    • I wired a switch into mine - 60c part from jaycar.

  • I have this. Like others are saying, it has a slightly lower than average line line level but the sound quality is OK and as expected for bluetooth with A2DP.

This thing can hold a stable connection to a device better than some others I have tested and at times I have had it stream audio from TuneIn or DI radio on a Telstra Thub 2 for days on end without it dropping a connection to the audio adapter. Others I have used eventually glitched out and disconnected after a few hours.

  • Aren't these less than $10 on Aliexpress?
