Now i feel even worse after being embarrassed picking up 96 bottles of water from a Click and Collect at $6/pack recently.

My favourite line from Dan's employee was "This is our first ever Click and Collect for Water Only… Well Done" followed by a few laughs

    • +3

      Classic :)

    • +4

Yeah me to… I got "someone's hitting the hard stuff this weekend"…

      • +1

Hahaha I like the DM sense of humor. I would have laughed :)

I'm not gonna neg, but Frantelle is the worst water. It tastes like chlorine. I hate seeing it on OzBargain! >:(

    • -1

Cool, getting negged for having an opinion on a product…

  • +1

"$6.00 per pack of 24" in SA.

    • do you get 10c per bottle back in SA on these.

  • Gutted at losing 10c D:

  • +7

Tap water is just as good.

    • +4

Not from Adelaide are you ?

      • No, would a good under sink filter help?

        • +1

Yeah, got one of them. Almost a necessity here. But without one, tap water is NOT just as good ;-)

  • +3

Great bargain and really handy but I feel kinda guilty having to purchase that much plastic. I'm not a greenie but these packs seem excessive.

  • +2

Someone give me a valid reason why people feel compelled to buy bottled water in Australia (apart from going somewhere where there are no taps). China - yes! Thailand - yes! Australia - why?

    • +1

      Uber drivers ;)

    • +2

I don't drink bottled water myself, but it's good to put out at parties to get people to have some water.

      • Agreed. Im paying for the convenience

    • I always thought the same until I learnt that organic growers don't use tap water on their gardens because the chlorine kills the organisms in the soil which the plants require to grow healthy and more disease resistant. It also joins with other minerals to form chlorides which can compromise mineral absorption. So why pour chlorinated water inside your body when you shouldn't put it on your garden/aquarium/brewing. Particularly since your digestive system has a microbiome garden of its own.

    • Reminds me of Greuen ….with marketing you can sell anything.

I remember big advocates are shops and bars so you don't give free water …

I'm not a Greenie either buy yeah ….Too much plastic and not as fresh as our of the tap …..

I can u derstand fizzy water buying it, but still water ?

    Why do people buy this?

    • -2

What do you mean? Don't you ever drink water?

    • +1

Perhaps convenience? Grab a bottle of cold water on the way out the door.

A glass tends to spill easily In the car

      • +2

Hmm… And what about when you guys plan a picnic with other friends? Each family members in each car bring one glass of water with them? Seriously I don't know what Fruit means with his question "Why do people buy this?"

        • he is referring to tap water.

        • @baldur: ok fair enough. But people like me "have to" buy these. There are many reasons but one main reason is I have a "clumsy" son in year 2. Several times has he lost his cartoon water bottle. And they cost like $10 each. Imagine to lose at least 10+ bottles a year.

        • Clumsy son, convenience, Adelaide etc should be the exceptions not the rule. Get a four pack of 300 ml glass soft drink and they will last forever. Wash out in hot water. End of story.

        • If you are on bore water that is different but melb, syd water is fine.

        • What does do when it's empty at school ….probably fills up from the tap …. So get him to bring the empties home and re use ……until he looses the empties …. That way you might just 20 bottled water per year for his school not 250.

Cheap way to get drink bottles is one of the few reasons to justify bottled water purchases.

Like people at work with Voss bottles they refill at the tap.

    • In our case, it's convenience. Bought a pack for my kids birthday party, along with 1/2 price juice poppers. Put them in a bucket of ice out in the back yard. Dont have to worry about cups, etc. Also bought a pack to take on our holidays (6hr car trip each way, plus full days there).
We normally use our under the sink filter, for day to day stuff, I just dont have enough empty bottles to fill and take with us on holidays.

      • We have insulated bottles for the car ….fill it up with cold water and it stays cold. Being in the car we don't loose them.

  • Bought from WW with other stuff so I can get $10 off next shopping.

Thanks TA, bought 10, for my Uber passengers!

  • I just wonder why people neg me for my question to Fruit. Which comments are actually odd? His or mine? And please explain me why.. Thanks

  • By the way TA. Just to bad I saw this post to late. I already bought one from Wollies this morning.

  • Woolies selling it for $5.50

it is a bargain but as a water connoisseur this stuff takes like turd.
    cue/have you tasted turd?

  • Only $3.60 in SA after cashback.

  • +1

good price and find, but fran bottles suck. they the type that you see those 'insane guy gulps down whole bottle in 1 millisecond' kinda crinkly, easily crushed types. reusability is a joke w these things
