    Endure or injure??

    • +4

50% will injure, 10% will endure and rest will either give up or die

  • Is it also FREE on Google Play Store usually?? Just checked and it is also available for free there.

    • Do you know how much it was before on Google Play?

    • +1

Reading the reviews for the Google store version, it looks like you have to pay to progress.

      • lol

Reading the reviews on Google Play Store, it looks as though it's free to install, but you have to pay to progress through the weeks.

      • Wow, such similar comments only seconds apart!

Spooky, isn't it? I thought it had double posted at first!

I never was able to run. At 102 kgs and 38 years of age I was too heavy, and got very hot, very fast. With the help of a workmate who talked me through it, I was able to work my way up to running for 30 minutes on the gym treadmill (better on the joints on the treadmill).

It's very different running on hard surfaces, but my point is that it is doable. It releases endorphins that make you feel great, and wifey said I was a different fella in the bedroom!

I've since stopped running as my mate moved away, but I'll be back.

If you have trouble running, these types of apps are great teachers.

Conversely, I find your negativity unappealing.

          Your neutrality excites me

        • +2

You quit the second your mate moved away. You say you will be back but why not do it today/tomorrow?

        • @kasp: hence my optimism comment…

          @kasp:

What makes it your business when and if I run? Mind your own bloody business!

          @Tony76:

You posting in a public forum. Lol

      • Rhymes with Nick.

better on the joints on the treadmill

Congrats but any treadmill I've used has been like running on concrete.

    • I had a knee injury whilst in Europe which prevented me from even walking relatively small distances. Instead I cycled. Easy on the knees for me. Maybe consider cycling as an alternative as well.

    I'll give a simpler guide.

Walk 5kms 3 times a week. Everytime try to go a little faster. Slowly increase the ratio of jogging to walking.

I was so unfit when I started jogging in 09. Now I got over 3000km logged on runkeeper.

You should make an app, Thats great advice. I did exactly the same, Once you get hooked on running/walking www.parkrun.com.au

      • That sounds interesting. How many people are there usually on the runs?

        • +7

Depends if they had Indian the night before.

        • Depends on the location. At mainbeach we have around 150 at a time.

  • Can anyone confirm the comments above that the app offered here is really only free to download and install but then requires payments to proceed through the process?

If so it isn't "free" IMHO.

    • The comments above referring to in app purchases was regarding the free app in the Google Play store, not iTunes

      • Thanks Lizard Spock, I thought this must be the same version of the app. So there's "free" and there's "free" but, depending on the store location, they can be different?

        • I think so. Especially as this one was AU$4.99 on iTunes it would be hard to justify making someone pay that and then make them fork out more for the other training sessions. The Google Play one might use the other tactic of: make it 'free' and then unlock more training by make you pay for it.

It's showing as $5.99 again. Doesn't look like it's free anymore

  • +1

Still showing free for me in iPhone

    • +1

Thanks for that Nivkos. Not sure who expired it when it's still free

  • Just received an iOS update saying it's now a freemium. Dodgy way to get people in

    • Boo urns. So does that mean it's expired or it was never really free?

      • It looks like it was free but anyone that gets it now only gets freemium. I haven't upgraded yet so I'm not sure if anyone who got it earlier gets upgraded to premium automatically.
