  • I think you need to link the original 20% off tech deal

    • Thanks. Someone fixed it up for me :)

  • So this is compatible with the Xbox One? Nice!

    • I think you might need to buy an adapter for Xbox one. I read it somewhere.

      • You only need an adapter if you don't have one of the new controllers with the 3.5mm jack in the bottom.

        • Or if you want to easily adjust game/chat volumes and enable muting without going into the Xbox menu.

  • If only there was a good deal on the Cloud II (and for some reason this item doesn't come up in the ebay search all stores search and on their own website it's $109 but on their ebay its $139).

    • Would also love a good deal on the Cloud 2. Nice find anyway OP

Emailed the ebay store to ask them to match their website with pricing. Not holding my breath..

EDIT:They are dropping it to $129, will make it $103.2

Pc byte also have it. Ends up being $95 after the discount.

        • Where? Can't find it for the life of me.

        • @Rupture: I tried searching too but couldn't find it. PC Byte might have removed it from their eBay store/ out of stock.

You can either get from Wireless 1 since they have stock and cheaper than MSY with the discount, or try getting MSY to match/ beat the price.

        • @nanoronline: After some more digging I saw that they took the listing down after they'd sold 3. I messaged them asking whether they'd put it back up, other than that I'll just go without this time. See: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kingston-HyperX-Cloud-II-7-1-Surr…

        • @Rupture:

I hope pcbyte don't do a dodgy on me based on previous feedback as they still haven't sent it yet.

        • @tlai: So you bought the Cloud II from PC Byte? Yeah hopefully it turns out well for you. That being said, the Cloud MAV I bought from this post has been shipped this (5/10) late afternoon.

        • @nanoronline: Yep got the Cloud II

        • @nanoronline:

Yep mine has been shipped too. Should hopefully be delivered tomorrow :)

        • @Monty1089:

Rang up pcbyte, they don't have stock for the item I ordered so will need to wait till next week until it's shipped.

    • Ended up buying one as well.

      • It's really a good bargain at that price

  • would a wireless bluetooth headset be compatible to be used with PC, Ps4 and Xb1 ??

  • Personal preference but for me I'm not a huge fan of this headset, as it has noise cancellation meaning i find it hard to hear myself speak and end up shouting a lot, but for some that may be a bonus. Still, a great headset for the price :)

    • Do you mean that the speech level needs to be quite high before it actually starts transmitting voice?

      • I think he meant that since it's a closed back headphones and has quite a good passive noise cancellation/ isolation (especially with the pleather ear cups, but apparently less so with the included velour ones), he ended up talking louder than needed.

But some sound cards (Creative and Realtek) have the feature to playback your mic input on your headset through the sound card's software.

Gotcha - thanks. The newer Xbox One controllers with the 3.5mm jack have mic monitoring that will also help with headsets which don't have mic monitoring built in.

The earlier Microsoft Headset Adapter for older controllers doesn't enable mic monitoring for headsets which don't have it.

        • @Stix: Cool, I don't own a console but it's really interesting to see that Microsoft has implemented mic monitoring in the newer Xbox One controllers. Had no idea until now, thanks :D!

        • @nanoronline:

I actually wish Playstation had mic monitoring feature as well. From my research it doesn't so looks like when i use this headset i have to be wary on how loud i am speaking.

        • @Monty1089: yeah the sound shouldn't be so isolated that you would end up shouting through the mic. With this price and the headset's performance, it's really a bargain.

  • Great find, OP :)

  • Is there anyway I could use these with a TV??

    • I suppose you can use the included PC connection cable which is pretty long, 2 metres I think?

Bought one too, looks like more than 10 ozbargainers have ordered now :D

From the review looks like its a cross between the cloud and cloud 2 models.

The bonus carry case and stand made it a winner for me, all headphones priced more than $50 should have their own carry case I reckon..

    • Yeah I bought it as well. Been waiting to get a cheap, good headset for 2 months now. This is my first gaming headset ever, I hope it is worth the price.

      • +1

I was actually going to buy this headset on Sunday after i saw the $79 price. Glad i held off. I am sure it will be good based on the positive reviews i have seen. For $63 it is a steal :)

      • +1

Yeah it should be good. Apparently the whole body is aluminium so pretty solid. Will have to test it out first, so long it doesn't have the "one side louder than the other side" some single wired headphones have it should be good.

        • I got it yesterday I must say it feel fantastic for a headset. I play Overwatch and it improved my sense of hearing of where the enemy players are. I hope this headset last with me for a long time

  • Anyone know how this compared to the Cloud II? I read the original Cloud had a pretty average mic (no noise cancellation etc). Is the mic more like the original or II?

    • From the Tweaktown review linked somewhere above:

The microphone is yet another great one, nearly rivalling my desk-based Razer Leviathan microphone. That being said, we are in a VOIP program and not recording professional audio, so there being a close comparison between these two vastly differently priced products isn't too uncommon. Either way, I must still pay homage to the fact that Kingston has continued its brilliant microphone in this product, ensuring that my voice has all the bass it needs – a tell-tale sign of a quality headset.

      And

Moving to the music side of things, I experienced something that was somewhat in-between what the Cloud I and the Cloud II had to offer. This headset seems to have the Cloud I microphone with the Cloud II drivers and sound experience, minus the Cloud II 7.1 USB card, as explained

      • Thanks for that mate. Considering the mic is probably the most important part of the setup for me I'd probably still lean towards the Cloud II's then.

        • Interestingly, the same guy in the Tweaktown review for Cloud MAV also reviewed Cloud II and Cloud, said Cloud's sound and microphone weren't as good as Cloud II's and now he isn't complaining in the Cloud MAV review.

Perhaps the sound drivers upgrade did help the sound and microphone. But specs-wise, Cloud/ Cloud MAV's mic still isn't as good as Cloud II's mic.

    • From the reviews i read online before posting the deal .. people did say that Cloud II mic was better than Cloud I (MAV has same mic as Cloud I).

The Cloud II mic has noise cancelling and higher frequency range i believe. But the good news is since the mics are detachable on the cloud headsets .. you could possibly find a Cloud II mic and attach to the MAV version .. or better yet find a modmic and attach it to the headset :)

    My headset arrived this morning.

The contents of the box is very generous. A bunch of cables and carry case. The headset hanger is extremely useful.

I love this headset. I played COD black ops 3 and definitely can pin point where people are coming from. I haven't tested the mic yet but it should be ok.

Build quality is excellent as well. Replacement ear cups are a great addition.

Hope you guys enjoy your headset as well :)

Just got mine delivered by StarTrack this arvo. Apparently Auspost has bought them over lol :D

      Sounds great.

Anyone know what MAV stands for? lol…

  • Lol the wireless1 mob are asking me to leave feedback first before their system automatically leaves feedback for me.

was under the impression sellers would leave feedback first since we buyers pay first and have fulfilled our side of the bargain.
