Pay Tax via Credit Card

Ok Guys you have heard my whinge see: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/269575

Ok so I have a tax debt of over 100k.

Is it worthwhile to pay with a credit card that I get points ?
I had a look at a couple of credit cards but would like someone to give me some options

  1. Is it worthwhile to pay an annual fee to get a card that gives more points
  2. What surcharge does the tax charge to pay via a credit card
  3. As stated before I am now retired and will be completely self sufficient. Will I be able to apply for a new credit card even if I don't have an annual income other than super, remembering I will need a credit card it a big credit limit to facilitate the payment to the tax department. Maybe I can pay in instalments to reduce the need for a large limit

I know we all have to pay our taxes but if I can get something in reward it would be nice.

Thanks

Colin
