i'm thinking of getting Gear VR for S7 i recently got, not sure if i should go with this 20% off deal or if you go to the my Samsung app on your phone there is a $50 games voucher if purchased though the samsung online store.
Really depends if you'd spend $50 on games. If you did, then that would probably be the way to go.

This is going to be very damaging to the company. I can see class action lawsuits over this. I don't know how an issue like this got past QA.
Not sure what Samsung can do to restore good will, because I think a bunch of people are going to be sworn off all Samsung phones in the future. My guess is it will affect stock prices also.
Maybe a huge discount on all products for a time.
I have this with my S7. I find it is the most useless thing ever. Probably used for 10 minutes..
yeah thats why i keep putting it off as i've tried google cardboard and other cheap VR headsets on my old iphone 6 plus and sure it was fun for abit and to show it to people who never tried it but then they just sit in corner and have gathered dust since.
might just pocket the $150 for now and keep it for christmas and maybe try PS VR once they release a proper bundle here in australia that includes the camera and move controllers

i think you don't even get to choose what is included with your $50 game voucher from samsung online store you just get sent codes for 5 games from what others have said elsewhere.
Not with eBay. It is different. The voucher can be redeemed only for purchase directly from Good Guys.
i think for their first attemp it was very impressive, i think in a couple of years time when they add a 4k screen and other improvements its going to be great.
Wait for the DayDream VR to be released. Looks nicer and it works with phone other than the Galaxies.
Bought this at 10am for my Note 7. TGG haven't received the order to their store yet but this is useless now as the Note 7 is no longer supported by oculus haha. Won't be getting any other samsung phone either so no VR for me now.

I tried on the headset at HN. The screen dooring effect was pretty bad, even though the phone is like 577ppi. I think the lens is magnifying the image, so you can see individual pixels and the black wireframe around it.
And iPhone users think the eye can't see more than 300 ppi. LOL.
Even 577ppi is not good enough for VR imo.
