Is the Philips shaver any good?
Imo Braun are the better brand when it comes to electric shaving, however most of them are either out of my budget or get sold out instantly when on sale. So Philips are usually the shavers I buy to save on $$

Yes, usually… Never experienced a problem with my Philips so far, have had them for almost 1.5 years now, didn't expect much from it but was happy with the performance :)
I have this exact model and… well… It either sucks or I can't use it properly.
Negatives are that it misses clumps of hair, sometimes pulls hair out instead of cutting it, doesn't actually cut the hair close to the skin (i.e. you can still feel stubble). I've tried a variety of techniques, a variety of shaving foams/gells/oils/etc, and also both wet & dry shaving with it, but I just can't get a good enough shave that doesn't require me to get out the disposable afterwards and touch up for another 5 mins or so. Oh, and if you want replacement heads, it will cost you almost the same as the price of the shaver itself.
Positive points are that it's waterproof, and the battery is pretty good.
I've now moved to a simple safety-razor, and am getting a better shave and it's actually taking me less time than the electric one!
