    A couple of years ago, I got a bunch of Roman blinds from Masters for next to nothing. The material was good but the mechanism to open/close was bad and finally this year, the biggest blind stopped opening & closing.

    I was just looking for standard roller blinds installed so went to Spotlight which had a 25% off promotion, Blinds City with 20% off, Interior Blinds, and Half Price Blinds.

    Spotlight's was the highest quoted even with the 25% off promotion. Blinds City was 51% cheaper than Spotlight. Interior Blinds was 34% cheaper than Spotlight. Half Price Blinds was too fiddly as I had to order a sample then order based on that.

    I guess the lesson is Spotlight is expensive. Call a few companies and ask for a quote. Blinds City worked out the cheapest for me but its one of those things that depends on what you need.

    Anyway, if you think comparing blinds are tricky, I'm now in the process of choosing carpet which is practically impossible to compare.

    I like roller blinds, but the 'beaded' cord sometimes slips out of the roller and is impossible to get back under the cog cover. How to fix it when it happens as a broken cord mechanism makes the blind inoperable?

      You should speak to the supplier you bought it from to fix it. It should not be doing that.
      However, you would need to take down the blind to pull the chain cover off to pop back in.

        Thanks, but it seems to be super glued into the bracket. It's a bloody nuisance as I'd happily order another one now, but I need an installer and that's the major cost.
