Aerius 5mg 45 Tablets - $21.95 (Free Click and Collect or $5 Postage) @ Blackshaws Road Pharmacy [VIC]

30

As we are in the windy pollen filled days of spring this one for the Ozbargainers suffering with hayfever. We have the Aerius 5mg in the bulk 45 packs on special. These are the latest generation of non-sedating antihistamines, which will help with the symptoms of runny noses, itchy eyes and sneezing. It is also great one to have lying around the house if you get skin reactions to certain foods or pets etc.

Just a comparison, these are selling for double the price at Amcal ($44.95) and Chemist Warehouse have them for $26.99.

Shipping is fixed at $9.80 // or if you're in the surrounding suburbs close to us in Altona North we have a free delivery service to Altona, Wiliamstown, Newport, Yarraville and Footscray.

You're also welcome to come by and pick them up @ 310A Blackshaws Road, Altona North, Victoria.

Cheers!

  • Expiry date?

    • The ones we have currently on the shelf expire at the end of March next year. The next order batch will have a longer expiration date by at least a couple of years.

    • Do you have a prescription from Australian doctor?

      • no way, i just wanted to know the price.

        • Wholesale price is $134.48 for 60 of the 100mgs. Chemist Warehouse sell it for ~$150. Good luck finding it any cheaper through legal means.

        • For private prescriptions, we have the Modavigil 100mg 60 tabs for $145 and the Modafin 100mg 60 tabs for $120. You need to bring in a valid prescription from a registered Australian doctor of course.

Thanks. I'm close enough to Altona North and will drive to your store sometime this week:-)

  • My wife suffers badly from hayfever.
    She takes "Polaramine" at present,
Would these Aerius 5mg be better or not?
    Thanks

    • Aerius (desloratidine) is far less sedating and has a longer half life compared to the Polaramine. As long as she isn't pregnant or breast feeding this should be better.

        Thanks for that info
        Is postage $5 or $9.80?

        • Should come up as $5 for postage now

  • I usually use Telfast 180 mg, how does this compare?

      • Loratadine is Claratyne right? I've never found it very effective.

        • +1

I've always found Telfast (Fexofenadine) more effective than Loratadine.

There's a whole discussion over the Second generation versus Third generation anti-histamines - Loratadine vs. Fexofenadine, but generally its best to just try them yourself and fine one that works.

Though Steptoe makes an excellent point about generic online, as long as a drug manufacturer been licensed by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration they must follow guidelines to ensure standards - https://www.tga.gov.au/book/licensingcertification-process

Basically, if it has weird letters on the package and is being sold (legally) in Australia, its probably about 90-95% identical to the name-brand drug (depending on the size of the tablet, percentage of active ingredient, and fillers used).

        • In that case this OP product mightn't do much else for you, though I'm only a Google Doctor.

Chemists sometimes have Free product samples to try, which is how I first tried Claratyne (Loratadine 10mg).

We messed up the shipping charge on the site. We'll post off your order now without postage costs because it was our mistake. :)

      • Oh ok, no worries. Thanks very much, great service :-)
