My experience with hoselink is not stellar - even with fresh rubber seals, i found the hose ends leaked consistently from the connector gap.

Then you couldn't install them propery. Mines never leak. Most stable hose connection I've ever had. Anyway this deal is for hose reels only. All hose ends should come pre installed.

      • I didn't say I had a reel - I was commenting on the brand. I bought the hose ends for my existing hose.

And it has nothing to do with installation as it leaks at the hoselink to hoselink connection (with the twist lock), nothing for a consumer to install or mess with at that point.

    • Mine stopped retracting fully after approx 4. months.

    • wtf??? dont see how it could be anything but user error as mine has never leaked once…been flawless.

      • Mines been flawless for 2+ years too. They are comparatively expensive, but a great investment. I wish they made retractable extension leads.

Very well made products IMHO, from 18 months use. Definitely worth the extra cost for a superior product that simply works.

As an extra plus - I have a leaky tap, replaced washer but made no difference…..needs a reseat?? Didn't want the expense of a plumber so I ended my (Hoselink) hose with one of their triggered multi spray choices thingies. In short the whole hose and attachments (all Hoselink) have been under pressure from the slow leak for a year and are still watertight.

Wish they made a tap timer with completely independent multiple outlets.

Excellent response when I had another of their products which couldn't cope with the situation above. Despite the product not in any way being designed to hold under that sort of continual pressure I was offered a replacement instantly. I had to actually repeat my "no thanks" to make sure nothing was sent to me-I felt the product was being asked to go beyond what it was designed for so I wasn't entitled for a replacement IMHO.

    • With a spanner you should be able to replace the tap easily. Total cost would be less than the hoselink.
Just Google how to, rock science

    • needs a reseat??

Probably, its not hard and the tool costs $11,90, have a look on youtube for the how too.

    • Thanks for all the advice.

  • Damn only ordered one yesterday missed out.

Thanks OP. Stacks with code EASYWATER16 for an extra $15 off the order, free shipping with a hose reel. Hoselink is a genuine company, they care about quality and are an Australian invention. These aren't the cheapest, they are the best - especially if you live in an area with high water pressure.

    • Thanks. Added to the post. I wish you posted this earlier I could have saved another $15.

My advice is don't go for a retractable but YMMV. Most people who rave about hoselink in my experience are people who go from cheap and nasty to hoselink and they are great in comparison but then so is any decent hose. Something like this plus this plus this would be at least as good and less than half the cost of the hoselink auto rewind equivalent.
I have used auto rewinds at least a dozen different houses and I think they are more hassle that they are worth, they are quite bulky, having the equivalent of someone constantly pulling on the other end of the hose can get annoying and with hoselink fittings not fitting anything else you need to make an adapter to be able to connect to anything with a normal connection.
Each to their own, they are by no means a bad product just I think there is better value and if I rocked up to someone's house with an auto rewind hose and a normal hose I'd use the normal one every time.

      • plus this

        $8.90 for that… what a rip off !!!

I've purchased the cheaper plastic ones in the past and they only lasted a few years, that one I would expect to last a lot longer and only wanted to compare similar quality's to the hoselock not cheap and nasty.

      • don't go with plastic connections. bunnings has metal connections for a little bit more

        • Good plastic ones are as good as the metal ones, Metal ones have better uv resistance where as they have metal on metal parts which can sieze up overtime.

        • They conduct electricity though.
