  • I almost clicked on 'Place Order' button, and then changed my mind in the last minute. This seems too good to be ….
Even if it isn't a pricing error, it's a single size so I don't think I am missing out anything. Good luck to the rest of you who bought it. :)

    • +2

I thought exactly like you, except got 2

      • +1

Haha! Enjoy, mate. I am 6ft tall and weigh almost 100 kilos so this won't work for me, unfortunately.

Don't own any single beds or single size quilt covers. Still bought one. Darn you and your poverty trap, povertytrap!!

    • or you can donate this to the less fortunate…up to you

      but I'm keeping mine

    • why?

      • Keeping one on hand for my grandmother/other relatives that run cold for winter 2017!

        • ah oka, it just seemed a little crazy to buy something you didn't have any beds or covers for… or need for! lol apart from feeding your inner bargainer, that is.

        • @slugsandsnails: Buy now, think later! It was such a good deal and it would be a saving of ~$100 further down the road should someone I know need a good quality quilt. Like buying cheap microSD cards and powerbanks just in case! #ozbargainermentality

Anyone know what % goose down this is? Apart from HN, this product almost doesnt exist on the internet!

    • +3

Bedding manufacturers in Australia are known to release unique lines to each retailer to stop the consumer from being able to compare product / pricing on the internet.

      You can be guaranteed that:

      1. This item was made in a 3rd world country
      2. A competitors product is made in exactly the same factory and in the same way, but bears a different name and possibly a different specification.
      3. Cost is still lower than what you're paying

Peace out bro, stay warm and enjoy your FTTH NBN connection! Oh yeah, and welcome to Australia!

Don't believe me? Check this documentary on bedding industry (mal)practices.

Bedding manufacturers in Australia are known to release unique lines to each retailer to stop the consumer from being able to compare product / pricing on the internet.

Such dodgy practices are not limited to the bedding industry, Bunnings is a perfect example. Welcome to Australia!!

Also, value depends on the %ratio of goose down to cheap fillers, price usually increase with higher %.

    • +1

Yes don't be tempted with lower prices.

THis is what I reckon before as well. Tried to check ebay and amazon and the price abit similiar but it's not pure 100% for the goose down quilt
But still cheap enough , best value

  • +1

Thanks OP. Managed to get three from the Geelong (Corio) store.

  • +5

Had to pass on deals like this when thinking about the cruelty that comes with it.

    • +7

Waking up tomorrow to read that email stating my order was cancelled? I hear ya

  • Thanks, bought 2 for no reason.

  • +1

Bought 2, will sew together to make a queen

  • Out of stock but still able to place

  • Is it worth it to pay for the postage which cost the same as the quilt it self $24?

  • +1

Yeah postage ruins it for me, I'm guessing a lot of the guys who purchased early on got store pick-up. Enjoy snuggling up and listening to Onka's Big Moka.

    • +1

Does OZB-er active on Friday Night? That's so sad *Sad Pepe Face

  • +1

    Out of stock.
    Delivery charge $24.95!!! Crazy.

    • Its thick, large and heavy to transport like JV's belly beer
You can buy pay now and asked them to halt through email. Perhaps ask them if they have cheaper shipping option

      • Down quilt is actually very light (unlike JV's beer belly)

        • I reckon if you asked them through email and halt the shipment they might notice its a price error or perhaps its not?
You reckon its a good idea to just ship it. I think they most likely cancel it anyway

      • no - don't do that lol. they're no going to offer a cheaper 'shipping' option just becuase you asked… haha. I'll be damned if they do.

Also I would either just click and collect or take the risk and ship it if you think it might get sent out and you want the pricing. nobody knows if it's a pricing error otherwise, but shipping might have it sent out before they notice? Clicka nd collect given the shops are all out of stock could be risky as it might be one of those 'clearance' items that they don't intend to restock or therefore honour. I placed my order anyway - see how it goes… won't hold my breath though.

        • +1

I did both. If the shipment came I will ask for refund for the pick up, or perhaps keep 2

I reckon if you refund the shipped one, you'll lose $25 shipment fee which is pretty subtantial.

  • those single Ozbargainers who want to stay warm at night

they might want to consider a free-to-play option - tinder

  • Is these goose feather?

  • +4

Bought two as well. GIven the fact it just says down feather and no 80/20 or 50/50 as others say, it seems this is a lower quality 'goose cluster' feather quilt. I don't kknow my linen and bedding well but if I remember correctly I think clusters are the unwanted child compared to straight goose and duck down feathers?

Someone care to give us all abit of an education on feathers and hierarchy of costs? Obviously goose is above duck down in pricing and 'grandness', and i've heard white goose feathers are thet of the lot - but the myers ladies mentioned no further insulation or heating from goose over the duck.

Hence when I bought my new queen quilt (my first with feathers) I went cheaper heritage (myers brand) duck down quilt as opposed to goose feather….

Anyway still don't know what I'll do with 2 single quilts but I guess one for my first home and chucking a bed in there… the other - hmmmm time to wrap myself in a ball when browsing ozb? Still $24 for a quilt isn't too bad.

If there was mass stock and I had the money I'd just buy a heap and chuck them to those living rough if it were possible. Can't be that bad for $24 right? Although the no name brand might be a warning. Let's see if they cancel the orders though? I could still put my Clicka nd Collect order through even though all Perth stores were out of stock.

    • Thanks for this. I did not realise I could still select the nearest store even though it is showing as out of stock. I have ordered two. :)

      • Given they're now all out of stock the chances of more orders going through is less - so one's best bet if they want the cheap prices is to pay the delivery fee if they want it sent to them before they decide not to honour the backlog of orders placed.

  • Cheers bought 100

    • +1

certainly hope not! lol. sure way to get it dishonoured for everyone if so haha

      • +2
