Warning, I bought the $100 coles prepaid Master card, never get the promised 2000 flybuy points for the father's day promotion, maybe to call them tomorrow, anyway the flybuys points promotion are always hit and miss for me, YMMV.

    • Please go back to check your flybuys history, I thought they did not add bonus points to me either then I went back to check , all the bonus points have been accounted for already. Hope it helps.

    • It was only 1000 pts for the Coles MasterCard. 2000 pts was for the only1 Visa the week before

Good deal if you can use eGift card to pay for it, basically $5 profit by purchasing a gift MasterCard.

Also handy to get your spend up for any Spend $x get X points offers from FlyBuys, eg Edit: Gift cards not included. Or on docket/mail vouchers (I've got a spend $50 get 500 FlyBuys points on my weekend receipt.) That would be another $2.50 profit if it goes through.

    • Exactly what I will be doing. I don't think you will get bonus points besides the 2000 for taking up this offer though. Can someone confirm whether you can stack mail and docket bonus point promotions with this?

      • +1

Mail and docket bonus points are stackable. There is no limit to how many docket, mail + email offers you can use.:)

Its just a hassle keeping up with the right mail dockets and matching the minimum spend then topping it up with the extra points on certsin products which at the end of the day might or might not be worth the effort

        • I believe FeRGan means stack as in use a mail/docket voucher with this promotion as they may exclude gift card purchases from the $x spend get xx points offers, like the online FlyBuys offer does.

On the subject of multiple vouchers, for some reason (for the first time ever), the self serve wouldn't let me scan 2 (yesterday). I scanned the triple mail voucher fine, but when scanning the double docket voucher it threw up an error. The attendant couldn't help me, just mentioned that the machines have new software and it might be a bug. I wasn't sure if it was a bug or the system now stopping you do it. It also wouldn't let me split payments between 2 cards. Hopefully it was just a dodgy terminal, they had to process the payment manually at the kiosk as I didn't want to pay cash and miss out using gift card or FlyBuys $'s.

        • @hamza23: murphys law off course:)

Did you try manually entering the barcode. Sometimes if the barcode faded or scrunched it doesnt scan correctly :(

Edit: your right i didnt understand the original question

        • @CandyMan:

Yeah for some reason there was no manual option like there usually is, also with the eGift card it wouldn't let you enter it manually (only scan it). They said the new software :/ I used to enter it manually rather than stuffing around trying to scan the phone screen.

It was recognising the vouchers and eGift cards though, it just wasn't accepting it. Something about illegal selection and invalid product mix when scanning them. Hopefully these aren't new changes (mixing payments with 2 cards and multiple vouchers) and was just a bug or machine fault.

@haimza23:I had the same issue trying to purchase a coles myer giftcard with a coles giftcard recently, machine wouldn't allow it kept saying i had a prohibited item staff member said it was because of the new system .Tried another store same thing couldn't do it , never had a problem in the past .

        • +1

@Triple J: probably something to do with coles trying to crack down on self checkout thefts teamin g up with police to do so. Therefore restricting their self checkout system.

        • @Triple J: Was this using a physical coles gift card or egift card?

        • @godzilla123:Physical

        • +1

          @Triple J:
With the last update they have stopped the ability to be able to purchase gift cards with gift cards. Does seem to be Coles group gift cards though. I did purchase 2 $50 itunes cards when they had 20% off for my play music subscription with a Coles branded gift card. So I'm assuming it would still work with itunes etc.

        • @hamza23:
I've found that splitting payments freezes the machine, it seems it causes a bug with the scales, in the end it was a scale reset that was required which is just pushing the scale button. Then could put through the second payment.

        • @Soluble: Oh well it was good while it lasted,i used to buy a $500 discounted coles gift card do a weekly shop & convert the rest of the money onto a coles/myer giftcard just because uou can use them in more places. An explanation i was given by a staff member was the upgrade was needed to stop welfare recepients who receive coles gift cards from charity organizations to buy food for their families from swapping them to coles/myer giftcards where they can purchase cigarettes & liquor.

        • @Triple J:
They can still purchase cigarettes, and they can still steal liquor ;)

        • @Triple J:
Do you know if this upgrade only apply to the self service check outs or is it for the normal check outs as well?

        • @maxi: I tried both didn't work at either.

        • +1

          @Triple J:
I did it at a normal check out a couple of weeks ago and it worked.
I normally put the card through first when I buy all the weekly shopping.

    • Not sure if gift card will work for payment. I tried buying a coles/myer GC the other day and it wouldn't let me part pay with another coles/myer GC I had. Third party giftcards might be ok though.

  • The coles master card gift card is good.
If you manage to buy a $100 with a 5% discounted card and you get 2000 fb bonus points you are $ 10 ahead after paying the $5 activation fee. A pity it is only one per fb account.

    • how do you get this?

  • Hopefully I can use my flybuy dollars to spend $50 on my Coles master card and still be eligible for this.

  • Haven't even yet received 20,000 points on receipt (and first use) of Coles' no fees rewards credit card. God knows how long it's gonna take.

    • Have you asked Him?

    • Got mine within a week.

    • Got 2x100 Kmart gift cards and $100 credit on mine but that was because I complained to the FOS that they werent honoring.

    • I had the same issue after a couple of weeks and called them up. they were confused but escalated the issue and I got my points 2 weeks later.

  • This with a grocery shop should get my balance to $100, cheers OP

  • Does this work with Coles PREPAID Mastercard?

  • +1

I hit gold with them last time, so the deal was sign up to Medibank on a couples plan and get $400 worth of points after your third premium. I signed up cancelled after one week, paying nothing, still got the points.

    • BOOOOOOM!!!! Spectacular.

      • yeah was pretty unexpected, found a better deal elsewhere on insurance, logged in to flybuys to convert f$ expecting to have $30 & had $430.

  • Anyone know if the 2000 fly buy points are credited then and there, or is there like a wait of many days/weeks?
If instant would mean $60 worth of groceries for $55 for little effort?

    • +2

The bonus points will be made with 4 weeks at the end of the promotions date.

      My understanding only.

    • Bought one yesterday, credited today.

  • Guess I'm buying a card tomorrow and another the day after on my 2nd flybuys card … all with my coles credit card which if I understand correctly I should still get 1/2 flybuys points on? ;)

    • Why not using 5% off discounted Coles e gift cards?

      • Where from? I haven't found any egift cards on special?

  • Heads up!I got it in my flybuys offers.Better to activate it before buying the giftcard.

    • Uhm it's mentioned in this week's catalogue on page 29

      • Yes,it should be fine.I read the Fine print through,no mention of activation like other bonus points offers.

        • +1

Exactly. If it wasn't someone would have flagged it on here. Even grammatical errors are flagged on here.

        • I activated it after my purchase, and I got the flybuy points the next day. So don't worry about the activation

        • @fullmetal87:
Did you buy it with a giftcard?

        • @maxi: Nope I didn't get it with a gift card, just another credit card.

  • +1

Successfully used my Coles eGift card to buy a $100 Coles Mastercard gift card.

    • Any loading fee ?

      • +2

Yep, $5. I had 1x $100 and 1x $50 Coles eGift cards, so I just did part payments on the self-serve checkout.

        $ $
        Purchase price (Value + loading fee) 100 + 5 105
        Less 5% discount on eGift cards 105 * 5% (5.25)
        Less 2,000 flybuys points (effectively $10) (10)
        Effective cash outflow 89.75
        • ok thanks.

        • Where can I buy Coles egift cards for 5% off?

        • @haru: I have an Ambassador card membership through my professional work union, but I recall there's some blatty blues (sp?) membership for $5/year which gives you the 5% off.

        • blatty blues (sp?)

          What?

        • @PrinceHairy: the cc fee is high in blacheys. on nib rewards which also uses ambassador it is lower i think

        • @Turd: I use Direct Deposit for Ambassador to avoid the CC surcharge, not sure if Blatchys has that option or not

        • @PrinceHairy: Blatchys is more expensive I think. I'll just have to suck it up and pay 1% oh well.

  • Has anyone tried more than once?
It says only one 2000 fb bonus per account, but I wonder if that is true.
A similar bonus with some time ago woolworths said only 3 per account, but you could buy as many as you wanted and you got all the bonuses.

  • Wow just got a offer of 10x points for $100 coles master gift card.

And it says The offer can be redeemed multiple times during the campaign period.

    Hmm worth it or not?

    • same here.. received this offer to activate

And it’s great timing, because if you purchase a $100 Coles Gift MasterCard, you’ll collect 1,000 BONUS POINTS or 500 BONUS POINTS with a $50 gift card.* A card purchase fee of $5 applies.

      • Dont think the two can be combined can it?

        • It is the same offer. 1000fb points for a $100 card or 500fb points for a $50 card.
Alternatively 10x fb gives the same bonus points.
The 1000fb points effectively compensate you for the $5 activation fee.

        • @maxi: Combining with OP

          Buying a $50 Coles Mastercard Giftcard will get 2000+500 points = $12.5 - $5(card purchase fee) = $7.5
          winning!

        • @spk: Sure they stack? I was thinking of just buying another gift card instead of the mastercard.

mastercard is good as you can buy mutiple ones

        • @Turd: i dont see any reason why they shouldn't

they did stack in the past

        • @spk: ok cool cool!

        • They may stack, but the 2000 bonus point offer ends today and it is only valid once per fb account.
The new 1000fb for $100 card starts today and seems to be available as many times as you want with a maximum of 10 cards per transaction (that would be $1000)

        • @maxi: Yeah! Gonna redeem it tonight so I can stack em both!! Using my coles cards! = WIN!

        • Did them stack?

        • @LLdreamer: Havent got the points yet for the Mastercard, I bought a $100 Food voucher and already got the 2000 points.

Says - BONUS POINTS will be credited to qualifying flybuys members account within 4 weeks of offer end date.

        • Ok, thanks for replying.

        • @LLdreamer: haven't got my bonus points credited yet

        • @spk: I got my bonus points today! Woohoo

        • @Turd: even i got mine today
