Cheap flights off to the states are slowly coming back for next year. I suspect we may see a similar price war to the one we had middle of this year.
These flights aren't showing up on Skyscanner so you'll have to book them through Zuji (No booking fees!)

Best prices for such a large range of dates.
—> LAX travel dates: 01 Nov - 23 Nov 16 & 16 Jan - 21 Jun 17
—> SFO travel dates: 17 Jan - 16 Feb & 07 Mar - 21 Jun 17

Haven't done this trip with Air New Zealand however many people say it's one of the better TransPacific carriers. They all stop in Auckland afaik but from there the SFO ones don't all stop in LAX (which is handy).

Remember Cashrewards offers 1.2% back on Flights at Zuji (will be a couple of dollars each).

  • Flew Air New Zealand to SFO from Melbourne this year and it was great, good service and a comfortable experience overall.

    • Did you get a skycouch?

      • No, what are they? They sound great.

        • The Skycouch is a row of three Economy seats that together create a flexible space for whatever you want it to be - an area to relax and stretch out in, or for the kids to use as a play area. It’s like having your very own couch on the plane.

          http://www.airnewzealand.com/economy-skycouch for 2+1 / 1+2 families only though

  • Good prices, I was hoping to get to Vancouver but it's an extra $500 or so for the same dates as LAX/SFO.

  • Have flown to LAX from MEL on AirNZ every year for the past 3 years, one of my favourite carriers. Great service/foods/drinks/entertainment/etc. Treated well as a VA Platinum too.

  • Flew AirNZ in 2004 and it was great!
