Following the free offers for iOS and Android, Minecraft: Story Mode - Episode 1 is now free on Windows 10 PC and Xbox One as well. Credit goes to Lauren Relph of Windows Central. The free offer for Xbox One has been mentioned by Mal68 too.

  Doesn't work on my Win 10 laptops.

  Says it needs Direct X 11, even though I have it.

  They've taken longer than I thought they would have to just make Ep 1 free for everyone as they usually do. It's the reason I'm holding out to try their new Batman thing. Anyway, I'd have preferred a few free trophies, but since I'm mostly in it for the game, this will do nicely on the Xbox, cheers OP!

  Put it this way, my kid likes Minecraft but hated 'story mode'.

  The 'story' apparently sucks.

    I've done four chapters with the kids today. Enjoyable and actually quite good humour in parts!
