Heineken 650ml Bottles Fully Imported $1.90ea or $24.90 Per Case (12) @ Dan Murphy's (Best before 31 Oct 2016)

1100

Last time Dan's was clearing stock of the 500ml cans, this time it's the 650ml bottles. Note the best before date is 31st Oct 2016.
I bought 1 case of the cans and it had a similar expiry date but it tasted fine to me. It tastes different to the Heineken that is brewed in Australia but I'm not all that fussy when it's less than $2 for a 650ml bottle.

My local store has heaps, I checked a few other stores around me and some had only 6-8 cases left but others showed no 'low stock' indication so with any luck there will be a reasonable amount of stock around the place.

Don't forget cashback!

      … but just as flavoursome!

      • +1

….yeh its definitely not my fave but at this price…meh! :P
the way i see it its cheap 'not bad' beer for when beer-o-clock hits

  • +7

got to smash a case in 10 days…

    challenge accepted

    • I failed the challenge with the recent deal. Meh, I'm sure out of date beer is ok!

  • +1

    Case of 12 not 24 ….

    • +2

Equaling roughly the same net amount as a regular carton.

  • +7

    It's actually cheaper to buy them 1 by 1 rather than a case… $1.90 x 12 = $22.80

    • +2

Yes but when I added 12 Bottles to the cart it came back with $24.96. So I just bought 10 for $19 :)

10 in 9 days, pfft anyone can do this

      • +1

It will still be drinkable on the 10th day and even the 43rd day.

        • Hahaha won't last me any longer

    • I tried adding 12 and it rounded it up to the $24.90 case price.
Edit: someone beat me to it!

      • +2

        Get 11 for $20.90 :)

        • +1

Get two orders of 11 bottles each.

        • Or 3 orders of 10 each.(no dis).

        • went this option…thanks TA and and thanks bonezau for the deal ;)

  • +1

    Tightarse is correct.

My local only had 11 bottles so cost me $20.90 for click/collect.

    Cheers OP

  • A case of these (12 bottles) equates to $28.73 for a 24 x 375ml case.

    • Heineken usually in 330 ml bottles though.

      • Not sure if joking.

  • +4

    Really odd cart counter…

    $1.90 per bottle

    10 bottles $19.00
    11 bottles $20.90
    12 bottles $24.96
    13 bottles $27.04
    13 bottles $29.12

Best value is to buy 11 bottles.

    • I realised after I had placed my order for a case then posted this bargain that it was cheaper to buy 11, so I placed another order.

23 bottles before the end of the month is doable but I'm sure it'll last a bit longer than that.

        very late oktoberfest

  • +5

Thanks OP! Grabbed 6 from my local. Expiry: 01/2017!

    • +1

3 from my local in boronia, now out of stock. The website said 31Oct and mine are Jan 2017. Maybe they discounted the wrong stock? The staff didn't care to check

      • Normal ones were $4.50, colds $1.90. Grabbed the normal ones and scanned at $1.90 still.

      • +2

DM wouldn't have difference prices based on Best Before.

    • +3

Just picked my 23 bottles up from Morley in Perth, Jan 2017 expiry too. I was going to ask how many more they had in stock but decided 23 is enough and I should leave some for others.

      Score

  • Good one again. Many thanks for the Maths TA. At last, a practical application for those years Of Maths.
    Stunning Summer bevo.

  • +12

The problem with all of these "discounts" is that i'm now spending more money on beer than ever. I'm no longer a casual drinker. Please stop OzB/DM !!

  • Thanks OP. I got 6 bottles and a case of Karl Strauss Pintail Pale Ale for $41.30. Combined with the AMEX rebate (now expired).

The Pintail apparently expires 31 October but worth it at this price!

  • +6

Seems to be a lot of beers going up for sale at discounted prices lately at DM with the best before date approaching. Heck I don't mind especially with the craft beers! But perhaps this is highlighting these beers are over priced in the first place. Cmon DM , drop your prices & give us fresher beer, god Dan it!

  • Best Before or 31st October on the website is probably November 2016 on the bottle. The bottles usually have just a month for BB and I take it as the end of the month.

  • None near me. Bet they were raided by someone off here without an account.

    Edit: forest hill does. Woo.

  • +3

Crap I've already got 3 cartons of expired beer from other deals and I'm still thinking about buying some of this >.<

    • Same. I figure as long as it's not something like Expired Mayonnaise, we're on a winner :)

      • +4

I just used some expired mayonnaise with lunch😃

  • +1

Picked up 2 cases from marion in SA through click and collect and they were all loose in wine boxes, date was jan 2017 so I wasnt complaining at all!

  • I was tempted to do a click and collect order from ballarat dm but decided I couldn't be bothered driving 45 minutes to pick it up. I have been getting 6 packs of Hahn super dry from bws for $10 using a woolworths docket deal so will stick with that.

  • +1

cleaned out my stores near me

    1 order of 11 bottles
    another of 7 bottles
    another of 2 bottles

    11+7+2 = drunk

    • +1

cleaned out my stores near me

It's ok, beer will clean you out soon too

      • i'm not giving myself a beer enema sheeesh

  • +3

Thanks again bonezAU. Just picked up my C&C order of 11 bottles for $19.86 using WISH card. Was going to get more in-store, but shelves cleaned out.

Best before date for the lot is Jan 2017. Happy days :)

    • +2

I didn't think quick enough this morning to use a WISH gift card. I get them at 5% off (instant delivery) through a company we use at work for salary packaging. I have however just come home from doing some shopping at Big W and Woolies, and I didn't forget to buy a WISH gift card for that lot ;) Having an ice cold Heineken now.

  • +2

Ordered 2 ctns, couldn't care less of the drinkable before date. Still have a ctn of the becks tallies left from earlier in the month

  • A brewer recently told me that stored out of the light beer will last much longer than use by date. They set a limit to reduce complaints from people who have stored it incorrectly. This beer is good quality not the cloned stuff. Thanks got 18.

    • +1

Toss the food out and keep in the fridge for an even longer shelf life.

  • +1

Thanks OP! I saved another 10% for buying 4 or 6 beers or something… so I paid $18.81 for 11 with Jan 17 expiry!

  • If i do click and collect it says out of stock and collect in 7 days, does this mean i will get new stock with a different best before date?

    • sounds like a lot of people are getting jan17 use by anyway…

    • Think they will just cancel your order

      • thanks, I think I mis-read it. It says delivery within 7 days, maybe they have stock, I ordered 11 anyway.

        • +1

Worth a shot mate you'll either get it or your $$ back

        • Same here 123. No stock, unless I collect in 7 days time, and so I doubled my order in the expectation that I can drink it before it, or I, expire. hehe!

        • @peck: After the first one you won't be able to tell the difference.

        • @onetwothree: Mine arrived 'in-store' and ready for collection ( ~ 4 days wait)

        • @Peck: mine too, got an email a few hours ago. Enjoy!

  • so for $38 i grabbed 20x 660ml which is equal to about 40x standard 330ml bottles…pretty good as a case of 330ml (24) of this is usually around $40.
so….by my drunken maths = 16x free bottles of beer! hic!~

  • Picked up my 10 Bottles and they all were March 2017 ;)

  • Thanks Mr Buswell, now don't drink and drive :)

    • C'mon, it's saturday! He's not driving any school kids in his bus today.

      • +2

It was a reference to Mr Troy Buswell, the former state treasurer who crashed on his way home from a wedding

He was also known to sniff chairs (Google it) and had an affair with another policitian (who looks a lot worse than his wife).

  • I'm confused. I like heineken more than any of the india pale ales or hoegaardens ive bought recently. Goes down like water.

    • What's to be confused about? That you like this beer?

      • +1

Maybe more surprised. I guess more expensive doesn't always mean it will suit your tastes better. India Pale Ales are interesting and complex, but much more bitter and not as carbonated. Hoegaarden tastes like sweet flowery champagne type beer. Heineken reminds me of being at the soccer and drinking an easy to drink mass produced lager you can throw down easily.

        • +1

Because Heineken is a mass produced beer..lol

India Pale Ales aren't to everyone's taste buds..But I swear IF you get the right glass it can really change the experience of the beer. My Dad hates IPAs in general so I handed him my IPA glass with an IPA beer which I knew he didn't like..After a few sips he was truly amazed that the beer was better (not fantastic but better).

I used to love Hoegaarden but not so much these days as there are better wheat beers out there.

I'm actually drinking an IPA at the moment..It's not a fav..but I let it settle and warm a little and that bitterness has gone away slightly..It's from Magic Rock Brewing in the Uk.

        • @pikapika:

What are some better wheat beers? Hoegaarden after awhile just tastes too sweet. It's a bit better after some spicy food though because it's so bright and fruity. But on its own, sickly.

As for IPA's. I do enjoy the darker orange colored deep bitter taste and the seaside sailing branding brings about visions of pirates and the east india company. I tried Sierra Nevada Torpedo's and didn't think them much, Pintails were good yesterday and the Shelhaven Thistles tonight tasted creamier than they were yesterday. I reckon the lesson is that all beers taste different under different circumstances. Might taste great with dinner on a warm night, might taste terrible on a cold afternoon.

Anyway, international craft Beer is good fun to taste and try out.

        • +1

The pintail IPA that was on here as a deal is a great beer.

    • +1
      • Interesting. Some of these IPA's would be better suitied to certain types of food I think. Bitter IPA with a bloody steak etc. I think it's just fun to try different styles and flavors and experiment. I've certainly enjoyed trying the 4 beers on special this week on ozb. I'm not much of a fruit person, and these ipa's and ambars and pale ales seem to be aiming to bring out fruity and floral notes into peoples beer aftertastes. Just drink a beer and eat a piece of fruit if you want that! But either way, it's nice to see some variety, but the full price is not worth it.

For me, the best tasting beer ive had are porters. Zywiec Porter is amazing. Dark chocolately bitter beer with a creamy head on it. Maybe more of a chocolate person than fruit.

Anyway, as for mass produced beers, at least now we're mixing australian with european beers. Would be terrible if we were stuck with VB, XXXX and CUB.

        • Just drink whatever tastes good to you. Trying new beers certainly seems to help me appreciate beer.

Btw, the mango xxxx lager is terrible.

  • Got 11 for $18.81, Jan 17. Not sure how i got an extra discount. $1.71 per bottle aint bad.

    • I think if you get 4 or more singles from Dans you get an extra 10% off, makes 'em even better value eh.

  • I can't click and collect from anywhere

  • Expiry on mine is Oct '16. Had one, it was very nice and tasted fresh.

  • Picked up 3 cartons happy days love this beer.

  • My 11 have Jan 17 expiry.

  • Mine have 7 day delivery wait - no stock left at Casula, NSW.

Picked up my Sol today. 9 Nov expiry. My Becks order was cancelled.

  • -1

Have to say that I regularly get Coles dockets (from their receipts) for buying 6 beers (Heineken, Jame Squire Swinder Summer Ale, Bundeberg Rum etc) for $10. I prefer this than this deal as there are more variety. I still upvoted this deal though.

    • +1

      Those are usually 330ml bottles which equates to $45.45 for a case of 24 x 375ml, this deal equates to $28.73 for a 24 x 375ml case.

  • Put my Click + Collect order in for Glen Waverley store on Saturday @ 12pm. (I also ordered 3 more for delivery as well!)
By Sunday 12pm I called the Customer Service number who then said the store had no stock and sorry they should have called you…
They said they should get new stock in by Tuesday/Wednesday so they should then call you after that….

  • My 2hr 'Click and collect' is finally in!

  • My local store who had completely sold out looks like they have got more stock in. I was just able to place an order for another 11 bottles via C&C ;)

This time I used a WISH gift card (5% disc) plus CashRewards.

  • +1

Got March 2017 expiry on my lot. Should have paid more attention to the pricing as the per bottle rate was cheaper than the case, so $2 each instead of $1.90 - not complaining though as still a great deal, particularly with discounted gift cards and cashback! :)

  • +5

oct 2016 on mine….half my order was missing manager was not impressed.
    gave me 40x fresh 330ml instead of the 20x oct16 660ml
+ let me have the 11x oct16 that were there on the house…. ;)
so…$38 spent = walked out with the equivalent of 62x 330ml (40xstubbies,11xlongnecks)…cheapest beer ever! :P

oh and drinkin the oct16 right now ….its fine :D
