Have just bought an Apple iPhone 6s 128GB for $950 from Costco in Auburn today. I think it is a good deal as I have been looking to buy one for a while but eBay has been selling it around the same price but warranty from Costco is second to none as long as you are a member. You can also get GST back from TRS at the Airport within 60 days of international travel from the date of purchase so you will only end up paying apply $860 - grab a bargain before it goes.
firstly, $950 and $1000 is a $50 difference.
secondly, iphone6s is still fast and pretty sure you will enjoy it without any lag in the following 2 years!
thridly, approx $90 tax that can be claimed.
so what you are actually paying is just $860, with apple 2 years warranty. take it to any apple store to fix/replace, if anything goes wrong in warranty period.
I think the price is quite decent!
By the way, i just upgraded to Iphone7 plus matt black. My one year old iphone6s 128G space gray was just sold for $800 with cases and tempered screen protector.

true, at least you don't have to beg for warranty, very annoying that you have to pay for a product then beg for warranty, with Apple the extra bucks really worth it

My iphone7 plus works smoothly. if you are not happy with it, take it to local apple store, they probably replace a brand new one for ya.

Not to mention the excellent resell value of all apple products.
I am not a great fan of Apple's high prices and find it really hard to spend 1k+ on a phone but there is aspect that iPhones do hold their value quite well so when the 8 comes out you could probably manage to flick this one off for a decent price to upgrade because discount + TRS.
Really don't think you could do this with a Pixel or LG.

Good phone with great warranty but I'm with you….not that far off $1K for >1year old tech is a bit steep in my eyes.

Should have paid with a card and then no rounding up or down! So .96 and .97 become .95, .98 and .99 become 1.00.
