Make sure you check AOC pricing in case it's cheaper to just buy via that than muck around with Cashback.

But this cashback allows Education Store so it's extra 6% bro

Except the AOC store isn't the Education Store and is normally exclude.

AOC is cheaper than the Education Store.

Link literally says au_edu bruh what

@marshmall0w2: It’s an education store. But not the “Education Store”. It’s the “AOC AU Australian Education Union Store”. They are not the same thing. They have different prices. AOC is normally excluded from cashback.

Not sure how else explain it.

Thanks for this. Cashback only eligible on non-gst amount.

Comparing m4 Mac mini with 32gb and 10gbE at 1554 at edu versus 1491 at AOC -

      (1554/1.1)x0.06=$84.76 potential cashback

Best case with cash back 1554-84 ~= 1470

Risk/reward For a 21$ possible saving with cashback route doesn’t seem worth it like you sugggested.

      • Yep. The “6%” really isn’t that great when you compare it to AOC pricing which is available every day.

        • What is your threshold for the risk/reward evaluation? Contemplating whether to risk it for a possible $52 on cashback with AOC, or just go with the pricing on the Education Union store…

          • @CluelessHedgehog: In above (1554-1491)=63

So I would be putting $63 on the line to go with edu+cashback-route to make an extra $21 more hoping cashback comes through. If it did not, I’d have lost 63.

            • @mshanann: Yep. Not saying it is or isn't worth it Just wanting people to know.

Not sure if anyone is interested but I made a shortcut to calculate cashback, should work for most scenarios — https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/398936a82c494af590ce5221f84ce990.

    How it works:
Input the purchase amount (e.g. 1554)
    Input the cashback % (e.g. 6)
(Shortcut removes the GST and calculates the cashback)
Displays the price after cashback (e.g. $1469.24) and the cashback (e.g. $84.76) you'd receive.

  • don't forget to use gift cards as these are eligible too. if you bought them last week they were at 10 qf points per dollar via the qf store. They are still available now at 3ppd.
