Anyone know if ticketing the "Up to 5% Off" coupon box will void Shopback cashback?

    • -2

Try it and let us know.

    • +3

I tried it and it tracked, about 2 weeks ago (but still not approved, waiting 18 more weeks). Terms said that coupons on the website where permitted, especially whose auto applied like that one (mine was 8%).

Solid machine, but be aware that it requires a 100w charger, so if you have multiple around the house, anything under 100 will charge it slowly.

Also, my portable monitor doesn't work like it did with my old lenovo yoga . With my old one, i just plugged the usbc cable from the monitor to the laptop and it would turn on and get signal. If i added external power to the monitor, it could also power my laptop (pd).

With this one, i need to externally power the monitor first, and then connect it to the laptop, and then power the laptop. I can't Pete the laptop from the monitor with PD, i assume it's because it might not support 100w pd

      • hey how long did you wait for the cashback to track? normally with shopback i get the successfully tracked email within a couple of hours but i've been waiting more than a day now since getting a lenovo laptop via shopback and still haven't heard anything. i only used the automatic Lenovo coupon code (EOFY) and ticked the "up to x% off" box, didn't use any special newsletter code or go through education store. also checked that i enabled cookies etc…

        • Can't remember exactly, sorry. I think i bought it at almost midnight, and it tracked sometime the next day. I would wait up to 2 days. Also, considering this is a big cashback (over 300$) i recorded the whole purchase on video

          • +1

@pichxlonco: ok cheers i'll give it another day or so, hopefully it hsows up. i didn't record video but i took heaps of screenshots to prove that the coupon was directly on Lenovo website and that i had Shopback open at the same time in the web browser

            • @k2k8k5: Good luck mate! Sorry, i just realised i used topcashback for my purchase

    • @gotyourback hi shopback rep can you pls help clarify?

    • Last Lenovo purchase I made with an auto-applied code (ie Lenovo had it already filled), the purchase tracked with Shopback and then was later denied.

How does this compare to the MSI deal posted earlier?

And also to the MBA M3 24/512?

    • +1

Very similar specs to the 16" 258V MSI prestige but the battery is much better in the MSI and the screen is larger. 100wh vs 70 in this one.

  • +1
    • Bigger battery in the MSI and larger SSD. Don't know about screen and graphics. The screen might be slightly better in the Lenovo. I just bought the MSI 16" version of the same processor. Mainly because I was looking for that sweet long battery life.

      • Thanks. Also, how good is the build quality for the 16" version?

        • I'd say it's decent but I haven't actually seen it. I did buy an MSI GE66 a few years back when it was on sale and it's been great. The only thing that started recently was the mouse pad buttons sticking which means I have to use an external mouse but after 3 years of heavy use I'll forgive them.

        • +1

OK, so not sure if you are still interested but I picked my up 16" MSI Prestige yesterday and had a little play with it and here are my first impressions:

          Build quality: Okish
For $3K or even the $2K sale price it looks a bit plain. The case is a light alloy metal which looks and feels ok but compared to other $2K/$3K laptops it just has nothing going for it looks-wise. The lid doesn't stay closed very easily and is very loose to the point that if you held it sideways in your arm it would open slightly on its own.

Performance: Really good for everyday use. Gaming - not so sure.
All normal applications like office and browsers run very smooth. I booted up Warhammer 40K: Battlesector and performance was not amazing even on low res and medium settings. I think less gpu-demanding games will be ok.

          Screen:
          Looks good - no complaints.

          Battery:
This is the definitely the selling feature of this laptop. The battery life is definitely the longest I've seen so far in any of my laptops. I don't know about 25 hours though that they advertise. If you turn the screen brightness all the way down, turn off sound, and were doing very light browsing etc then maybe you could stretch it to 25 hours but yea it's definitely longer than what you'll get in most laptops that's for sure. I played the 40K game on it for about 30 mins and it said there was still 3 hours of battery left so not bad.

Final verdict: I am still happy with it but only because I wanted that extra long battery life which it delivers but if you only need the battery for a few hours then you could try something else.

  • I got this recently with the i5, 32gb RAM and 2.8k OLED touch screen config for $1602 from the EDU store

    https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/yoga/yoga-2-in-1-seri…

Same processor architecture, battery life seems amazing and you can even play decent amount of games

The only downside is bad Multi-core performance and its not as light.

    • Got the i7, it's quite heavy. Searched online and processor was not that better to justify the price increase, but in my case my company was paying for it, so no issues.

Also, when i bought mine a few weeks ago, i was able to upgrade to 2 years of on site service for just extra 10c, so look through all the options when purchasing

      • Lighter options for new gen all cost too much so yeah, for me it was just a replacement for my 5 year old Surface.

  • $1,180.00 in Edu Store! Dang

    • That's the Ultra5 I think

      • Yeah it is :(

    • Do you have that link for me please ? Can't find it.

  • how about this one from jbhifi with touch screen? simular price and spec.

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lenovo-yoga-7i-14-2-8k-ol…

    • This one better

      • +1

        Which is 'this one?'

        • -1

          yes

    • +1

The JBHIFI is "proper" yoga, 360 degree hinge. The one on this deal is Aura which opens up to 180 degree and doesn't work with stylus

I don't know if it is true - it is what AI said. AI isn't always right, but instantly give you answer and are more often right than human. You should use it.

In terms of level of discount the two are comparable, discount at similar level (after shopback went down from 12.5% to 2.75% since a few hours ago)

Anyone know how this one compares to the AMD one or the Snapdragon one?

    • Would be interested in knowing if AMD slim 7 or this Ultra7 Slim7i which would be better!

    • +1

AMD one is more powerful but drains more power

Intel one is more efficient and battery life for the Lunar Lake chips are amazing, I believe the built in graphics chip is also more powerful

Both are fine for general use so get cheaper one if you dont care

I’d also avoid core ultra 7 or Ryzen 7 the 5s perform almost the same within 5-10% in games too

    • +5

      My understanding is…

Intel Core Ultra AMD Ryzen AI Snapdragon X Elite
      CPU Single Core
      CPU Multi-Core
      GPU
      Battery Life
      Software Compatibility

Do note that CU7 258V has Intel Arc 140V graphics, which is quite a bit faster than the Radeon 840m/860m in Ryzen AI 340/350.

      • +3

I have laptops with an Intel 258v and one with an AMD 350. You can notice the difference in speed between them when side by side. The Intel has a noticeable lag when loading applications and games vs the AMD.

The AMD driver support for games is much better than the Intel. I notice graphics bugs with the Intel laptop on new and old games which doesn't happen on the AMD. If you play a game that is CPU intensive, the Intel CPU bottlenecks and you can't get past a certain FPS. Try playing a game such as Tarkov and you will notice.

Battery life is not as significant as some people make out. I get up to 16hrs of productivity on both for my workloads.

The AMD is about 22% faster than the Intel. You can refer to Pass mark as a reputable site for benchmarks.

        • +2

Do you notice any difference between the two in regards to how often/loud the fans run?

        • Thanks for this mate!

    • The snapdragon one has 16GB memory, to me this is the biggest difference.

  • I wonder why the huge discount: stock clearance for a refresh / new model? Can’t seem to find any news about an upcoming refresh

    • +5

Lenovo always has high RRPs with exaggerated discounts.

      • Because that full price goes to business sales

    • It's been this price for over a month. I bought mine around May 16 and it was supposed to be a launch price as the ultra 7 processor is quite new

  • This would be perfect if it came with a haptic trackpad.

Can’t go back after using Macs.

  • Pulled the trigger - hope the cashback tracks!

    • Which cashback did you use?

      Shopback says -

      "You wont get cashback on:
      - store promotions, discounts or special deals, unless otherwise stated"

So i assume this wont count towards the cashback?

      • Shopback list the EOFY25 code so cashback should track if the 5% off checkbox isn't checked I would think

        • Fingers extra crossed now, ticked the 5% on my end

        • where does it say it? I couldn't find it to screenshot it
edit: where does it say EOFY25

          • @benchman: I can only seem to view it on shopbacks desktop site.

  • +2

I got this same spec but its the 15.3" version, can say it runs absolutely so cool and i never can hear the fans switch on, screen feels like I got a pair of new eyes instead, lol! plus the battery really last long, maybe comparing to my old 2012 macbook pro, but switching back to Windows after 15 yrs is a bit of pain for me, thinking if I should get rid of this and go back to Mac …

    • That'd be a shock!

Windows has gotten a lot shittier over the past 15 years, and mac has been great since 2020.

Did you have any issues with the onboard graphics / Arc?

      • Havent install any games on it yet to test, but playing thru video files is perfectly fine, as I said coming from a 13 yrs old macbook, anything will be a big jump for me, lol!

    • Oh my god, the screen! Every other screen feels flat and dark now! Also i love the fact that it is touch. I always thought that to be a useless feature, but have found some situations, like scrolling on 2 word documents side by side to compare them where it has made life so easy

      • Yes the 15.3" is so bright and clear, indoor it only need like 1/2 the brightness bar and is way more than enough for my eyes! Pity a touch screen not allow to use stylus …

  • +1

FYI The ShopBack cashback is 13.2% for Lenovo until midnight

This will give you a net price $1,630 (excluding GST), presuming the discounts/vouchers are valid and it's approved

(I was asking myself this question for the length of the comments)

    • Is that definately only till midnight? I didn't see any countdown timer?

    • "You won't get Cashback on:

Store promotions, discounts or special deals unless otherwise stated
Any Gift Card, Voucher or store credit purchase
Purchases made with Vouchers or Promo codes not featured on our platform"

      • I wouldn't roll the dice on this one, personally…

  • Just 12mb cache for 1800?

  • I got the slim 9i for about $2600ish , I know its battery life isnt as good as 7i and webcam is poor but boy is it a looker. Best looking laptop ever made and a headturner in the library or starbucks.

    • Is that the blue glass one? Tossing up between that and the x9-14

      • yeah best looking laptop period

        • How do you find the curved corners of the screen? Don’t they cut out a bit of the picture?

          • @evasive: not that I have noticed. Even my macbook pro has the same curve

            • @munty: Yes however I think MacOS handles it so nothing gets chopped out by the turns?

  • +1

I wonder if this is the normal price? Not sure if it's the same, but I found this for $1799 https://www.centrecom.com.au/lenovo-yoga-slim-7-14-wqxg-oled…

    • +2

Yeah it’s the same unit and yes that’s normal price it seems as it’s also on Amazon for $1797. OPs post isn’t really a deal at all.

  • +2

i notice that the equivalent spec in the 2 in 1 format is around the same price. any reason someone would get this slim version over a 2 in 1?

    • I debated the same when buying mine. I ended up not picking the 2in1 as i was afraid the hinge might break at some point, and for my needs the extra features (e.g. stylus) were not a must

  • Same spec is cheaper on Amazon at $1797…

  • Does anyone know if this link from harvey norman is the same product?

    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/lenovo-yoga-slim-7-14-inch-o…

Looks to be the same product specs, but different part number?

  • Comes to $1,949 now. Did they increase the price already?

    • Tick the "Up to 5% Off" coupon box to bring the price down to $1852.46.

      • I must be blind. I don't see the "Up to 5% Off" Coupon box anywhere…

  • any chance this could game and play things like overwatch or gta 5? if not does anyone have a rec for a similar laptop with a dedicated gpu at a similar price point?

  • +1

Current topcashback promotion brings this down to $1574 after cashback

    • Just ordered and topcashback tracked including the extra 5% off. Great value laptop for this price.

  • This is AMD Yoga Pro AMD?

  • +1

Does everyone think this will be the best laptop deal for EOFY sales with the new topcashback promotion? As I do need a new laptop.

  • Seems like they dropped the price even further, to $1,709.96 after 5% off. At this price it's great value. I still opted for the Yoga Pro 7i Aura Edition (14”, Gen 10) for $200 more though, as I prefer the increased performance over the battery life (albeit a bit heavier).

    • Not as good as with the topcashback promotion. Came to $1,574
