    Minor thing, but be aware Pandora is unavailable on these (EU? at least French) models and Yamaha when asked stated it is hardcoded at manufacture (ah huh). The firmware world wide are identical so there is a flag somewhere. Not sure what will happen if Pandora launch as a full streaming service in EU late this year.

    Spotify connect works great however, switches on amp.

    Bluetooth headphone doesn't support silent cinema, otherwise great amps and better musically then my old TX-NR609 and way cooler operating (I have the V681)

        Yep, Pandora works perfectly on my RX-V681….though it was bought in Australia, so not sure about the Euro models.

    The Price thats been quoted for the 781 is now finished, Its now EUR 653.18 You are better off going for the Yamaha V681BL Music Cast AV Receiver titanium ( not available in Australia) or black for the same price for EUR 509.00 which you can pay in Aussie dollars at checkout on Amazon Germany.. AUD $769.00.The price starts at about $1077 upward in Australia for this unit. No exchange fees via credit card or bank charges on top.

    V681 has much better reviews, even though the 781 is the flagship of the "81" series. Also keep in my their is no overseas Warranty. So you need to pay Yamaha Australia authorised service centers if the av reciever does display a fault. In saying that I have had 4 av amps and never had a problem. Check out the reviews on the RX - V681 and it will give you more peace of mind.

      I'm nonetheless concerned that Pandora won't work as intended.
      I guess at worst I can bt the receiver to my phone and pipe it through.

      I bought an RX-V773 (I think same level as the 781, just older model) from Amazon Italy. Worked for a day or so then died.
      It cost me over $400 to ship back to Amazon (thankfully they reimbursed me) and they supplied a replacement, as they considered it DOA.
      If it had died after a couple of months, Id probably be out of luck with no warranty.

      Recently bought a Denon X2200 receiver from VideoPro for $950 delivered - 3 years AU warranty - very happy.

    7 channels! 95 watt per channel! "2 ch driven" .. How about with all channels driven like it will actually be used, sketchy deceptive bullshit. Even worse is the 160 Watt per channel figure (with one channel driven at 10% distortion). Preying on the ignorant, should be a standard to quote RMS power at low distortion with at least 5 channels driven, real normal use figures.

      don't worry it's plenty loud and crisp. I don't go higher than -25dB on the volume with my 7.1 speaker configuration (also Yamaha).

    I had ordered this and got shipping notice etc. Said it was scheduled for delivery around 10/11. Woohoo i thought !

    Wait, got an email today 7/11 from Amazon.de, obviously all in german.

    Google Translate basically translates it across as

    "Good day,
    They had ordered the item listed below, but the shipment was returned to us by the transport service. We have therefore reimbursed.
    You can find a list of possible reasons why your consignment could not be returned to us. If you are still interested in the article, please check your address and make a new order."

    And then got further emails saying my credit card will be refunded in 5-7 days etc etc.

    I checked the tracking and it was interesting to note that the last update was on Wed 26/10 and the item was scanned at Grimbergen, probably never got shipped out.

    Has anybody else had anything similar happen ?

      Ohhh I got the same email and a refund!

      I thought there was something not right with my address. To be honest my street name was in the Company field.
      Must have been incorrectly imported from amazon US account.

      Anyway I have inquired and got told there is nothing wrong with my address and they will investigate.

      I'm still interest in this item so I have re-purchased, this time I paid for the priority shipping.

      Obviously the price went up but amazon rep told me I will be refunded the difference.

      I wonder how many people got refund and what the hell is the reason for returns!!!

          I have contacted them via Amazon.de website.

          When I reordered I used priority shipping and it estimated that it should be here this Friday (I have ordered on Sunday but it got shipping notification just few hours ago)

          Finger crossed that it will come this time !
