      Ok I got it back to front, I was remembering comments from this deal. The longer they've been on the shelf the less likely you'll get a full crop.. So what was worth $25 could now be worth $5.

      Still would be a fun project.

  Tried this once. Got green fungus instead of mushrooms.

    There is a bunch of white fungus all over the compost. Is that how yours started too and then it went green or had issues from the start?

    I'm not even a huge mushroom fan. I just thought it'd be cool to grow mushrooms with my son. Hope it works out.

      I've tried with 3 kits, 1st was a success and I got 3 batches of mushrooms out of it. (Pick the big ones and leave it to regrow more)

      2nd and 3rd time I failed and got zero mushrooms.

      The kits are a little more sensitive than you would think and need the property conditions of darkness and dampness to properly germinate.

      Greed mold suggests overwatering I think, white mold is good though.

      For $10 it's a bit of fun, but considering mushrooms are $10/kg at the supermarket, you aren't doing it for the cost because I can almost guarantee no-one is getting 1kg of mushrooms out of one of these kits.

  Don't buy too many of these or you won't have mushroom left in your cupboards for other things!
