A Standard Equipment List of OzBargainer

After the meeting with Scott an hour ago, I came across a idea of standard equipment list of OzBargainer. The equipment does not have to be in physical. It can be an online account or something else.

Let me start first.

    • I was waiting for a 6D mk ii, but they took too long to release it, so just went with a 6D…
Never the less, you should add Sigma 35mm f1.4 to your list :) best lens I have ever had

      • how much was it? I have a nifty fifty, love it, but lately I've grown accustomed to 10-18mm wide angle.

I thought of going for 6D as well but decided against it and got a drone instead ;)

I took OzBargain lifestyle to heart, I have 12mths supply of protein bars, enough batteries and cheap LED Flashlights to get me through a zombie apocalypse and the next 2 years worth of clothes/shoes I bought all on sales, only problem is the protein bars are now getting out of use-by date :( and I ate so much the sizes of clothes I bought now don't fit! Needless to say I've started going on a diet and try to dodge all the pizza / Hungry Jacks / Guzman&Gomez coupons on this site ! :)

just closed my 28 Degrees, Coles (rewards card with annual fee) and bankwest platinum (no annual fee) also have not international fees.

I didn't like that they introduced a $0.95 fee for paying your account with Bpay ! Only way to pay without fee is cheque or via a direct debit using there site.

Stupid move for a fee free credit card. They even tried to stop me by saying "is a fee free card" (other than a fee to pay it) LOL

Doesn't seem like much but if you only use it every now an then its a pain. e.g. $1 ebay US purchase then $0.95 extra for a payment fee. Upto $11.40 a year

    • I get around on going fees by dropping lump sums on. $100 and let it dwindle down, then top up once it's low again

      • That still incurs a $0.95 payment fee. I have been thinking about cancelling mine too vanleeuwen.

  • isn't the coles mastercard as good as 28 Degrees card?. I found not many fans here..

    • The one with zero forex fees has an annual fee, 28 Degrees doesn't, Bankwest Zero Platinum is also an acceptable option.

    • Get the rewards one, they charge the annual fee at the anniversary of the account, so a few days before just switch to the no fee version, then switch back again after a while. You get 1% cash back (as groceries) and overseas purchases don't attract Tx fee. If you cancel the card you'll lose the price protection (as its 24 months, if you buy a phone for example you'll claim a lot back) so it's better to hold onto it.

I feel paying the annual fee negates the benefit of the card…

Edit: it appears that the method I described no longer works… they now charge the annual fee on the first purchase… :(

  • A few unopened boxes of Eneloop.

When I first saw ozbargain a few years ago, I was instantly amazed by how many posts there were for Eneloop batteries… So I figure everyone must have a box of them by now
