      Is that a good thing?

      • +6

No, why would you do such a terrible thing?

  • +2

Nice, plus the $25 voucher will make it even better :)

    • Is anyone else having problems with the voucher I got mine today had a look at it and went and did something else ,went to open it again and it's gone ,I didn't delete it checked all my gmail folders but not there.

      • Vouchers don't arrive with your email. It comes in an SMS sent to you from TGG

        • Thanks for reply ,how dumb am I lol I was overseas thought it was an email found it now.

  • 2.4GHz sounds like wishful thinking. Aren't these just a Snapdragon 410 running at 1.4GHz?

    • I'm not a tech-whiz so I can't really tell you

      • Well i can tell you. Moto G 3rd Gen has a Snapdragon 410 chipset running at 1.4Ghz and the GPU is Adreno 306.

        "Chipset Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410
        CPU Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53
        GPU Adreno 306"

    • This page shows $299. How to get it for $255?

      • You can price beat it at officeworks for 5% off, providing that OW hasn't dropped the price to match TGG's price of $269 yet

    • Yeah, I bought mine from OW on an ebay 10% off deal at $269 in August, very fast delivery time too.

Take it from someone who has owned one of these since December 2015 (I got it for $255 from Officeworks)… The Moto G3 is a GREAT phone. The battery life is great, it runs real smooth, and it comes with a nice stock Android experience.

Bear in mind though, Motorola/Lenovo have advised they will NOT be updating this phone to Android 7 Nougat. But Android 6 Marshmallow runs pretty well on it anyway.

    Easily worth $269 I reckon!

Yep, I've had one for a couple of months and not had any problems with it. Just whacked a 32GB micro-SD in the other day too, and am running Android 6.

  • I just got this phone delivered today from GG from the ebay special the other day.. was only $247.

  • same processor as y550 huawei

Not sure if this phone is dual SIM but if it is, it's only 4G/2G

  • What is the exact model number of this phone? I want to check if it works in a couple of other countries.

  • What bands and networks does this work with? My wife's on a Telstra contract and needs a new phone.

    • It will work fine for Telstra (NextG, 1800MHz, 2600MHz, 700MHz)…it only lacks Band 5 LTE from the Australian bands which is only used by Vodafone

      • +1

        Thanks.

  • This model does appear to be dual-SIM, but it's 4G/2G…so the 2nd SIM slot will become useless soon now that all 3 major telcos have announced closures of their 2G networks.

    • +1

Vodafone 2G shutdown is 30 September 2017 so 11 months is the maximum time in Aus?

    • What is an old dual sim mobile worth?

      Telstra closes 2g GSM 1/12/16
Optus closing 2G GSM network 1 April, 2017.
Vodafone 2G Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) network on 30 September 2017.
Waiting for better bargains on old dual sim mobiles and new chipset dual sim mobiles.

      • Older dual-SIM phones will just fade away and not be sold e.g. this G3 is already EoL… The G4 Plus and newer Moto Z Play support 4G+3G, same for imported devices like the Redmi Note 3 Pro International Edition etc…

With the dual-SIm capability unable to be utilised, this device won't vbe worth much I think…Snapdragon 410 is an old SoC and nowhere near worth $250+, even the Telstra Buzz or ZTE Fit are better in SoC regard…

  • Your introduction isn't correct. This phone's CPU isn't powerful unfortunately, with a 1G RAM, you would get a lot of trouble when you wants to play game or large programs or multi programs. Unless you only use your phone for call, texting, social media and occasional phone, Redmi Note 3 Pro is a much better choice.

    • XT1550 is 16GB and has 2GB RAM.

  • so which is better? this phone or the xiaomi note 3 with 3gb ram?

      • Thanks, looks like the xiaomi beats it on the camera, battery, screen resolution and processor

        • Moto G is Aus stock, waterproof and slightly smaller 5" screen. Note 3 shares 2nd sim slot with sd card. Not sure if you can buy note 3 locally? Maybe a better comparison is the new Moto 4G?

  • in the long run might be better to spend a little more and get the moto g4?

    • Yes I would say; 4g/3g dual SIM support, better CPU, much better GPU, much better camera, fingerprint reader, support for micro SDs larger than 32GB, and will get updated to Nougat as well.

The G4 Plus also supports turbo charging.

  • Purchased with voucher…

    Thanks op & TGG <g>

  • Another thing to be aware of, this device does not support SDXC cards…so be aware if you intend to use one of them cheap 64GB micro SD cards…
