Even worse, it's only a semi-smart charger, which charges batteries in pairs only. This means that it is very difficult to avoid overcharging your batteries.

Also, it won't fully charge AA Eneloops or the Aldi AA batteries. To charge a 2000mAh battery, you have to put about 2800mAh into it, as charging isn't 100% efficient, and some energy is wasted as heat. This charger can only suppy about 2200mAh before the timer turns it off, so your batteries will only be charged to about 1600mAh. Perhaps this is good, it's less likely you'll overcharge your batteries as often.

These batteries aren't LSD and won't last for more than 20 cycles. Not recommended.

Yes. Pre-charged, "ready to use" and "low self-discharge" all mean the same thing.

duracell have a japanese lsd but the japanese ones are higher current than the ones listed in this add, so add is wrong or they have 2 types of rechargeables.
Would the battery charger be suitable for Eneloops or the Aldi rechargeable batteries?
