Got an email about Virgin Happy Hour sale on now until 11pm tonight only. Noticed that $1000 LAX return flights were available again, some slightly cheaper. Other international/domestic flights are also available but they seem to be the pick of the sale.

Example Flight: Brisbane to LAX 6 Nov to 4 Dec 2016 $991.70 or Sydney to LAX 6 Nov to 4 Dec 2016 $996.40

        Air New Zealand is coming up $50 cheaper or so for many of the dates booked through STA (who has CashRewards) or Skidoo.com.au

          You'd have a stopover in Auckland though. I'd rather pay the $50 extra to fly direct.

          @NotWithoutACoupon: Can't overstate this enough - how much is 5-6 hours of your holiday worth, each way? I'd pay $200 premium for a direct flight so this is a great deal

    Just got back from BNE-EWR via LAX from the $900 deals in April, I wasn't impressed with VA's interior & AVOD setup, (plus the selection was woeful), the previous gen Singapore Krisworld beats it hands down… Virgin America on the other hand was much better, live satellite tv + wifi + premium AVOD in every seat.

          don't know if it was ever posted here, i caught it at on the Australian frequent flyer forum.
          website was Orbitz. Virgin flights i paid less than $1,000USD for 2 adults, 2 kids BNE-LAX return. flew in aug/sep.

          Yeah I totally wasn't thinking, I was busy trying to convince my wife we needed to go back to America when we were only a few days away from travelling to the US on the Qantas price glitch tickets.
