  • These apps any good? Looking for a good window management solution for my 32"4k screen. Not used to this much desktop realestate.

      ultramon

      working fine here x4 24in

    • +4

      Directory Opus is highly regarded.

      • +5

I used to use Directory Opus on the Amiga 1200. Brilliant.

      • If this was the pro version of Directory Opus Id get it in a heart beat even on the $15 pack.
But as it is I may as well as stick with QtTabBar, much better value for money.

    • +2

Directory opus is awesome. Not sure what you lose in the lite version vs the full version.

    • +14

I use LastPass (premium) already and it is fantastic, highly recommended

      • ABSOLUTELY 100% second that.. Wish could renew with this but anyway,, get it while you can for 1 year this is bloody cheap.

      • Me too. Makes life so much easier.

      • If you were to compare LastPass with a password vault like KeePass, is the main difference that LastPass will automatically fill password fields?

        • +1

Basically, but the design and simple use of LastPass pits it far ahead of KeePass also. I use KeePass at work (basically that is what they had in place already) but use LastPass personally and you can't really even compare the two. The auto fill across even my Android phone apps/logins make it invaluable to me. Sharing facility as well I have used, for example send my old man my Netflix account details.

      • +1

Note that Lastpass has just recently increased functionality for the free version of LastPass, so consider whether you need the paid version. https://blog.lastpass.com/2016/11/get-lastpass-everywhere-mu…

That being said, I'll continue to pay for what's an awesome product.

        • I also will continue premium, do not want ads in my password vault :/

        • +1

@Infinite Monkee: yeah can you imagine the ads my usual password of "chunkylover69" would generate.

      32"4k screen

What kind may I ask? I used my old 32" FHD sony as a defacto screen since 2010 and its been great but I was looking around to see if tv brands make small form 32" 4k screens on the cheap and it doesnt seem to be.

      • I would love to know as well if you dont mind sharing

      • +1

you're looking for a TV as a monitor? up to you but I'd suggest (as will most recommendations) getting an actual monitor instead of TV, they're not built for the same purposes

  • +4

I've been looking for display fusion and fences for a while now. Thanks

  • +9

Display Fusion is amazing, and a must have for anyone with multiple monitors.
LastPass is really good too, shame I can't use the code to extend my current premium :(

    • +1

Can anyone confirm that we can't extend lastpass? Would buy it if lastpass gets extended.

      • +3

People have tried. You can't use it even if you've only ever used the 14-day trial.
        Link to reddit thread

        • That's a real shame. They could convert so many users. I for one won't go for it.

        • +1

@zfind: To be expected given who now owns LP (which is why I left them).

        • +2

@Mic Cullen: Where did you go to, and is it as good?

        • @Mic Cullen:
Going by Wiki LogMeIn paid $125 million, wow.

What issues/reasons have you had with using LogMeIn?
          Just curious.

I use Dashlane (was a beta/alpha tester, loong ago), so nearly all of Pro features for free.
And as a backup (but not for awhile now, need to find a password file and match it to 1 of 3 backups), I use Password Depot 6 (via bitsdujour free).

    • Can DF allow you to play full screen games and be able to go to the second monitor without it minimizing your game?

Actual Multiple Monitors can do this. You can lock your mouse from scrolling into the second monitor or unlock it.

This would let you play games and have gamefaqs open in a browser. I find it useful with AMM.

Great bundle, been using Display Fusion for months on the work PC.

  • Oh, hey, can anyone see anywhere if they are offering bitdefender for Mac as well? It doesn't say anywhere obvious if we can choose versions…

    • +2

Hovering your cursor over the little key, under each one, will tell you what platforms are available.

    • +1

I'm torn. It is hard to pass up the extras for $15, but on the other hand it still irks me that bitdefender also peddles internet security software, yet I have several unsolicited emails from them over recent years containing my plain text account password and personal details. I really didn't want to give them any more of my money - even if it's only a dollar or so.

But it is a great value bundle, so I think I'll make the exception. Feeling dirty though.

      • I wouldn't use them if that's what happens, thanks, I will avoid them.

      • +2

I got rid of BitDefender when they started popping up adverts for their own products from my system tray. I thought we had antivirus so crap like that wouldn't happen? Acronis is worth it though.

        • Agreed. The day my antivirus software starts spamming me with popup ads for other products is the day my antivirus software stops being useful. It was doubly offensive that the bitdefender popup spam was for their "leading internet security" software at the same time they were sending me my plaintext password and contact info in a subscription renewal reminder email…

Acronis software looks well worth the full bundle though. Just a shame that humble doesn't give you the option to choose which developers to give the money to. I wouldn't hesitate to pay more if I knew that BD were getting none of it. :-(

What even is this deal ?.

    • +5

      Productivity and security tools

    +1 for LastPass!
    Good App!

    • I see Lastpass auto-fills passwords, but can you just see what the password is?

Just wondering if I install the free version on Android cellphone I can use it to extract my passwords if I need them on other devices…

      • +2

in the Vault you can see the password yes

If you are using it on the pc, you can view it in the vault you can copy username or copy last name, providing you have accessed with your master password first.

  • Anyone used Dashlane as opposed to LastPass?

    EDIT: LastPass it is!

  • Another Pro Tips: Use Everything apps to find the desired file (like google) much more efficiently.
But be careful if you have random stuff.

Also XunLei / Thunder is another good software for torrenting if uTorrent is blocked by your landlord/ Internet Provider

I couldn't live without Fences and Display Fusion

    • I do like Fences, used it 4+ years, I still need to play around with some of the features, from the last few updates.

  • +5

I've used Directory Opus since v4 for Amiga (~1992?), and I still use it (v12) on Windows. That's 24 years of DO use. I couldn't live without it. I'm an addict.

v12 Lite is a steal at US$1. Fences is a great bonus.

    • +1

Agree, amazing deal. My A1200 is still set up with it and I use it plenty. My Dopus purchase from the early 90s is probably the longest I have ever (and likely ever will again) used the same piece of software. Talk about value for money!

      • Can I come over? I can bring my joystick…

  • +4

Display Fusion is one of my must installs along with Steam and usual drivers. Even with my current setup of just 1x34" ultrawide, I still find it invaluable.

All this talk about Directory Opus is making me curious. Might just cave in just for that.

    • +1

Haha I'm the same with Display Fusion… all this talk made me curious!

    • What do you use it for your ultrawide?

      • Its not that useful on a single monitor. I only use it to rotate wallpapers and change my resolution profile (for streaming remotely).

        Maybe im missing features?

      • Purely to auto-rotate through my folder of wallpapers. Keeps my desktop fresh!

        • Is it something really fancy because that can already be done by right clicking your desktop -> personalize -> desktop background. It can change the wallpaper from every 10 sec to every 30 minutes.

  • Display fusion is fantastic and this is a great price. Everyone at work will want this.

  • Hmm what will BTA gonna be?

  • Great find OP! I've already got a LP subscription but it expires in a few weeks so I'll just create a new account and transfer my passwords over :)

  • Anyone know how many computers you can use Fences on?

  • +1

Wow!! This is awesome… I'm still using a super old version of Fences from when it was free. Definitely picking this up

  • +2

Shame Acronis and Ghost are subscription versions :(

  • +1

Fences looks like the real deal

  • Does anyone know if CyberGhost VPN works in China?

    • You can just Google your question and you'll get an answer.
      Spoiler: it's no.

      • +1

I did a quick search. Nothing conclusive. Although it hasn't been mentioned in articles for VPNs in China for a while. Thus why I asked.

  • +4

What is everyone using Display Fusion for exactly? Used to use it a lot with Windows 7 (esp. the separate taskbars on each monitor) but that's integrated into Windows 10 now…

Which begs the question, what features are you using?

    • I'd like to know this too.

Anyone know if i can get a taskbar clock on my 2nd monitor with this?

      • I'm looking at my monitors now and I have a taskbar clock without Display Fusion installed (although I have a full license key)

        • I…. wat? You have a taskbar cock on both monitors without display fusion?

        • @cheesecactus: Yeah. I've got the clock on both monitors but only the right (main) has the notification icons. I've got the start menu and cortana on both too. No Display Fusion installed.

        • @Yoz:

Yeah mine also has start menu and cortana on both. But no clock on the secondary monitor…… Googling returned nothing.

Not to insult you, but screenshot?

        • @cheesecactus: Check link: http://imgur.com/1lm8L2N
Hopefully this is what you mean.

        • @Yoz:

BUT HOW!?!?! Maybe it's something with the anniversary update (hasn't been pushed to me yet)

        • @cheesecactus: I'm pretty sure mine's always been like that. Alternatively, check this link it might work: https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3gcows/taskbar_c…

        • @Yoz:

Just had a read of that thread, nobody in there has a solution, everyone just said it was impossible. No idea what the heck you've done on your computer!!

        • @cheesecactus: Who knows. It's a fresh install as well. Only thing that could potentially be playing with it (if not Windows settings) would be the Nvidia Control Panel but I highly doubt that.

  • Is there any difference in getting a steam key or a non-steam license key for Display Fusions? I just bought it after reading all this here :). Does the non-steam licence key last longer / as in can be used indefinitely for all versions? Or can they both be used forever?

    • They both last forever. if you use steam then you have to install it via steam but afterwards you won't need steam to run it. But the good thing is that it's now permanently on steam so you won't need to worry about it afterwards. If you choose to install it without steam, it'd still be fine, you would just have to re-enter the key if you were to install it on another computer.

    • +1

I heard/read somewhere that the steam licence means you can have it on multiple computers ?

      • The reason why i ask is it states on Display Fusion that once you have it purchased / licence, its a lifetime licence. So you never have to purchase it again and can use it for all future versions even major upgrades/ new versions. I am just wondering if this applies with Steam as well or just the non-steam licence. As I am not sure how Display fusion is on steam, it may be version based?

  • Just paid $8 US via PayPal for the BTA simply wanted Cyberghost premium one year deal. I must have had my head in the sand for years to not have known about HumbleBundle before, thanks OP. My Cyberghost subscription (Which I got half price last year around $50ish Aus) was due to expire/ renew on the 3rd Nov (tomorrow), so I cancelled my renewal then close my account totally this morning, thinking that the 57% off Cyberghost premium deal was still running (DUH, not running now, I didn't check the expiry of the deal), but getting this same premium one year deal for just under $11 Australian is amazing. Half expect that the key they gave me will not work :-)
When they say for new users on software within the HumbleBundle site under each software link/ image, are they referring to new users/ account of Humble, or new users with the software you select (New email address with Cyberghost, not an email they have seen before)? I intend on using different email for my Cyberghost setup anyway, but just asking if one of you regulars know the answer please for my single brain cell to try and remember?

  • Breezy looks very useful. I type absolutely everything in Notepad first and dump it into everything afterwards.

Too bad I have DF, Acronis and a good antivirus already. The money will just have to go to the charities :)

  • Cyberghost deal not available for Mac users apparently :(

    • I was reading their writeup at torrentfreak, said available for Mac there? At the very least, you'll be able to set it up to run with OpenVPN.

  • Anyone here used KeePass as a Password Manager?

  • Anyone know what would happen if I bought this twice? Want a second licence for DirectoryOpus and I guess the otherstuff as well if it's anygood. Have a laptop and a desktop and really need it on both…

    • You can buy it many times, GPSoft will send a separate licence for each product token BundleStars is giving you.

  • I am curious whether the Last Pay key stacks with a new user 1 month of premium available when you sign up.
Has anyone had any experience with this scenario?

    • +1

Apparently not. Once you've had premium, including the trial, you can't use the key.
      However, this just happened.
You can use LastPass on your mobile without premium, which was the main reason a lot of people paid for it.

  • Any bad issues or reason not to use CyberGhost VPN?
I wanted to play around/learn with a free (but good) VPN option, as I've never used VPN before.

Also, what happens with your passwords/account when the year expires?

This is a awesome bundle, thanks OP.

  • +1

Very much appreciated @theguyrules for your response.

  • So any issues with using Lastpass/Logmein?, as another member mention not using them any more.
As I'm thinking of giving Lastpass a go.

Dashlane is ok, but can be slow to login sometimes & is now having a issue (3 sites so far, recently started) of not auto fill/login in a field that gives the option to enter either a email account linked to it or site name, like OrbDaggerZ as an example.
2 of these sites have recently changed from enter email name (only) to also site a site name and/or mobile number, thus this has not been fixed in Dashlane so far.

  • If you want to use cyberghost with p2p, dont bother.

    VPN|Ping|Dl|Up

    Purevpn|89|43.4mbps|2.3mbps

    Cyberghost|930|0.46mbps|0.27mbps

    Tested from same internode server

Edit: Jesus even testing fastest aussie server vs fastest aussie server.

    Purevpn|12|43.75mbps|2.3mbps

    Cyberghost|111|39.01mbps|2.17mbps

  • Picked up the $15 bundle. Too good. But found that buying Deskscapes is not enough ! You also need to subscribe to Wincustomise other wise there are only a few video/dream wallpapers you can download, and then you have reached your quota ! Am I missing something ?
