      Doesn't have to be a new item, though does have to be a bargain. eg: Given that these can be bought for $79 brand new, a second hand bargain would be no more than $50

  Was given a pair of these new as a present, before I'd purchased a PlayStation. Fired them up 12 months later, they worked for a month then died in the ass. Looked it up online, happened to a bunch of people. Too late by this time to locate receipt, chase up warranty etc. These might be the repaired ones……
