Slightly better than JB $1274 deal which was a few months ago now. I might be tempted if they put it back to that price + cashback on top. But I am still considering mirrorless camera for the size advantage and I would like 4K when spending this sort of money..

Purchase the Canon Portrait Starter Kit for $168 + Canon Deluxe Bag To Suit EOS Range for (a ripoff) $59 to claim double cashback of $200. Or you could replace the bag with a spare battery for an extra $10 (rip off $69).

    Total spend: $1358 + $168 + $59 - $200 = $1385 (essentially you're getting the nifty 50 STM for $127)

Sell kit lens & bag for even more savings.

If you're lucky that they actually will price match. And also lucky enough to own an AMEX. BTW it's $100 off not $50.

I am actually really interested in buying this. Just made an account after a month of spectating.

That's a really good idea. The portrait starter kit is not in stock, though.

      • Get the non-kit version then with no lenspen and whatever guide they have for $1 more ;)

Or you could replace the bag with a spare battery(thegoodguys.com.au) for an extra $10 (rip off $69).

That is not the correct battery for the 80D. It uses an LP-E6 or LP-E6N battery, neither of which I could find on TGG website.

      • My bad. Thought it shared the same battery as the 6xx/7xxD. It's a rort regardless ^^

        • All good, and yes, I agree. Unless you really want that 50mm lens, I'm not sure it's worth spending the extra $200 to claim the additional $100 back - TGG's prices on most of the Canon seem pretty high.

  • Anyone succeeded in price matching with Hardly Normal?
