          @noodlesfordaddy:

I'd just ignore him now. He's an admin of an EB Games hate group.

He probably works for JB HIFI where they work on commission and is just trying to raise sales figures ;)

        • @Kugz: Haha I know, it's truly bizarre. Did you see all his copy-pasted essays about how much he hates EB games? Runs hate facebook groups and stalks the EB facebook page to find things to complain about. I have no idea. Most people that don't like a certain store just don't shop there and don't need their opinions validated by others

    • i'll sell ya mine for half that ;)

      • Thanks, EB Games is selling pre-owned for $57. :)

    • because they can't be found in stores

  • Shame my local store has no stock, but 6.95 postage flat rate? Heck yeah.

Bought two guides for a buck each and a second copy of Pokemon Typing Adventure for 4 bucks. The keyboard it comes with is super nice and at that price, totally worth it.

    • i was trying to buy Pokemon Typing Adventure, it processed but then i got refunded :(

      • Aww. That sucks!

  • +1

Some DS games are also $1.

Brain Training, Clubhouse Games, Professor Layton, etc. are perfectly good software that does not particularly benefit from being 3DS native. In fact there is not a good solitaire game on 3DS that I could find apart from Clubhouse Games.

    Edit:
    Elite Beat Agents is $4!
    Pokemon B/W/B2/W2 are $5.
    Rhythm Heaven is $5.

They have a charger for the DSi (same as 3DS) for $9.

    • +1

Those Pokemon games were snapped up fast. Just missed out on W2.

  • Cheers OP, picked up a few game guides to set aside of Christmas and some for myself. May have outdone myself tho judging by how many i got.

Honest question, what is the appeal of game guides to people?

There's video walkthroughs, wiki's, etc available for free online.

      • I just prefer physical copys to looking online, nostalgia I guess. Also because my parents bought them for me as a kid whenever they got me a new video game.

        • +5

          Dude your parents sound awesome!!

It was hard enough getting a game out of them when I was young lol

      • +2

Older gamers who grew up with these as one of their only sources of information.

    • +1

I selected 3 guides and they wanted $19 for freight. Quickly deleted the checkout items.

  • Thanks. Got the collectors edition guide for Dragon Age Inquisition.

  • +1

Guys is Arkham Origins a good game? Never played any of the batman games, only just got Arkham City yesterday

    • +3

      its great, very underrated!

    • easily the worst of the series (and not made by the original developers)

      • Also Made by the same studio who "Ported" Arkham Knight to PC

        • +1

Finished all of them and I prefer Origins over Asylum.. but I like vehicles.

        • Is that the batman which crashed horribly on PC that they issued full refunds to everyone and ceased sales for a period of time?

        • @Blitzfx: yes

    • Sadly not. Dunno how they managed to take City, reskin it and make it run twice as bad, but they sure did!

Glad I paid like 4 bucks for it. Didn't bother playing very long. An utter disappointment. Just a quick cash in by WB Games, trying to ride Rocksteady's cost tails and failing miserably.

      • +1

So I'm guessing it's not even worth the $9 on site (arkham origins)

Cheers, deleted it from the cart lol

        • Sadly not. :P

Apparently Origins: Blackgate is decent though. Better developers for that. Good if you have a Vita, don't think the 3DS is as great. Certainly not visually.

Either way, avoiding Origins is a good idea. No problems with sticking to the actual Rocksteady Trilogy.

    • It's not perfect, it's not the best in the series, but to be fair to it, the other entries in the series are really (profanity) good. Being second best to an absolute champion isn't a bad thing.

I've personally only played the Wii U version, which you'd think would be the least updated and supported version, and in fact it was, now that I remember it didn't even have multiplayer (not that I've have played it anyway), but anyway, I played it on Wii U and I thought it was a treat. No Arkham Asylum, no Arkham Knight, but I honestly (I'm gonna get killed here) thought it was more fun than Arkham City.

Better? Not necessarily, but I had more fun with it.

Is this for the PS4 Pro, or is it just a 'pro' product?

    • Probably safe to say its for the previous model, considering I found a video of it from 2015.

Although not sure how different the stands are, but from the looks of the two consoles they're quite different.

        EDIT: Pulled the trigger!

        • I felt the same way at first, but then checked booko and it was still significantly cheaper even with shipping, so I pulled the trigger too

    • +1

I just put through my shopping and I chose express shipping on checkout however AFTER payment it shows that the items will arrive via standard shipping!!! Oh well it still arrives in 4 days rather than tomorrow.. I won't be dying on the weekend so it's ok :D

    PS3 exclusives:

The Last of Us new $9
Journey (preowned) $12 ($23 in the PS store)
Ni No Kuni new $9 (not in PS store)
Heavy Rain (preowned) $9 (or apparently $1 if you can get to Elizabeth store in SA)
    Read Dead Redemption (preowned) $15

Just some I found for us PC gamers who got a PS3 cheap recently and want only console and/or PS3 exclusives.

Ico and SoTC was more expensive than PS store. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 was $9 too but no stock online or in any store.

Got through everything I wanted to buy and 2 things were out of stock, took them out and went through the payment process and another 5 things are out of stock…

Guess I won't be buying anything now, seeing as the main things I wanted are OOS, you would think they would have a holding system in place for when you are processing a payment.

    • +1

i got this too. i wish there was an 'x' option beside each item in cart on the final checkout screen. not having to go all the way back to cart

      • +1

There is an edit cart option but it does take you back to the cart.
luckily it holds all your info so you don't have to type it in again.

      • +1

It was moreso some things that I preferred over the others and I was alright losing a couple of them but to go back into the processing thing and losing another 5 items, that sucked.

I guess the more popular things sell out quicker but I still think if you actually get through the cart without losing things the second time then they should definitely put a system in place for you to checkout the payment process with your items on hold.

        • I agree completely. Also that happened to me too the oos then removing items then more OOS. It's an unfortunate system to have in place. Also I read on Reddit they just got a system in place where new titles are available to order from physical store locations instead of just the warehouse. Thus all the new vita games stock being "available".

I'm guessing a large portion of peoples orders will be cancelled due to accepting to many orders and people buying games before employees can pull stock as employees are not going to prioritize online sales.
Or just drop everything when an new online order comes in. They'll probably get a sheet of orders everyday at a certain hour to gather like JB employees.

I wonder how hard it really is to implement a live stock checker and hold items in reserve once in cart.

        • @Scaregdearimasu:
that doesn't sound good. i bought a LoOOooT of shit

        • @Scaregdearimasu: From a factory it should be fairly straight forward by just using their online system
from instore it will be super complicated due to walk ins.

Anyway I managed to place an order for a few things I really wanted in the end, certainly narrowed down my spending thats for sure.

  • the confirmation took it's time to load

  • +8

    I just bought

    27 games

    Total cost including shipping 187.75
    Saving off 474.30

    F**K YEAHH!!!

    • +1

I had 18 items total cost of $93 including shipping and saving $563 before I went through the process of having to remove items that became OOS everytime I went through the checkout!

Just goes to show how people will flock to the big $$ savings

      • Happened to me too

I had to remove 4 games in total :(

        • Mine got to 8 deleted so I just restarted and only picked what I really wanted from my original list (that wasn't removed as OOS), managed to shave the shipping down in the end so it was still worth it.

  • +2

Another idiot store that doesn't reserve stock while you're in the midst of paying. Fail.

    • I can confirm that most of my recent orders have been fulfilled from a physical store rather than their warehouse. And the stock system is not real time. You can actual confirm how much of the item they have in stock by adding the max qty allowed. Sometimes it will give the message only x amount in stock.
Also for those keen on having their items shipped in pristine condition, it is usually the floor stock so there is a few wear and tears and games won't come shrink wrap.
Like to hear other people's experience if it is the same.

  • Thanks for the post!! Totally just saved $205 dollars on a ~$105 order. Excited! :))

  • Ugh, just went through my entire order, submitted and "Sorry something went wrong" and it cleared my cart >_<. I then went on my PC and it did the same thing.

    :edit:

Got it working on IE and what I wanted was of stock. FFS. Oh well.

It'd be really nice if this specialized gaming retailer would specify whether the PC titles were redeemable on Steam or otherwise.

  • Just got Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D 3DS new for $1 (pick up only), but $4 preowned & delivered.

    • +1

      Great game.

But make sure you're playing it on New 3DS. Without the second stick, it's not going to be fun.

      • +1

I quickly looked up reviews before buying didn't seem too positive, but for $1 couldn't lose. So glad to hear, however I don't have the new 3DS might have to get this and take advantage of the preowned sale.

        • +1

It's my favorite RE game post-RE4.

It's not perfect (none are), but it's very good, especially if you like old school RE before it went all out action.

        • @lostn:

I think you're confusing RE Mercenaries with RE Revelations. RE Mercenaries which youhuiquan bought doesn't take advantage of the 'new 3ds', nor does it support the circle pad pro, so buying it would be pointless. I also don't see how it could be your favourite since RE4 as it's just the mercenary mode.

        • @manbearpig: Got an email today to say that they game wasn't available anymore at the store I was picking it up from. I then checked it to reorder to the same store and it says still in stock, so they're not updating.

        • +1

          @manbearpig: Oh my bad.

I was indeed confusing Mercenaries with Revelations.

Revelations is the awesome game (and my favorite since RE4). Mercenaries I haven't played.

You probably can't go wrong with it for $1 though.

  • +1

    Amazing deal.

I missed out on a few items that were OOS when I went to check out. Still got a few faceplates.

Missed out on the gorgeous Zelda MM faceplate unfortunately. :(

I mean, I know they probably never sell for that, but still…

  • +1

It has been over a couple of hours now and some of the things that were out of stock when I attempted to buy are still listed as "in stock" must be frustrating for people having to go in and out of the cart when buying.
