  • coolant is showing 7.49 for me (VIC).

    • Be careful! Coolant only recommended for vehicles before 1994 (incompatible with alloy heads?) Any thoughts?

      • the description also says "Not suitable for those vehicles where Anti-Freeze/Anti-Boil coolant is recommended" - So I would not recommend to use it :)

it does not suit my cars anyway, just wondering why the price has not been updated yet as per their promo ;)

My 1981 XD Falcon has an alloy head. It uses green coolant.

      • +2

It's a type B coolant, and has no anti freeze/anti boil chemicals added, is mostly water, and is not suitable for any modern car.

Modern cars have alloy heads and cast steel/iron blocks (plugged with brass Welsh/core plugs) , and aluminium radiators. The large percentage of water contained in type B coolants permits electrolysis to take place, corroding your engine.

Supercheap should not be selling it.

Stick with the manufacturers recommendations regarding the percentage of ethylene glycol in your coolant.

        • Thanks Tony,
Interesting. So the color of the coolant does not mean anything?
My car is a 2009 Suzi GV, and has a green coolant and always has. I haven't check the manufacturers recommendation, will do now.
          Cheers
          D

    • Same, running red coolant in my car anyway

  • Sweet, is there a limit on how many you can get?

A box of 20 should do it, I go through almost a can everytime I clean my motorbike

    • Limit 6 per customer

Edit: But you can buy 6 from each store in your area

    • Dumb question, but can you use degreaser to clean your motorcycle chain before you lube it?

      • I do.

All my friends do, but We all could be wrong lol

      • Could be bad for the O/X rings. I would not use degreaser on a chain. I sometimes use WD-40 to clean my chain.

      • +1

Kero, or diesel. Drop it in that, good to go.
Lube up with a high quality chain lube.

      • I thought this was what everyone did?

I would use a different degreaser though

  • $1 degreaser is something we haven't had in a long time. I'm going to buy a box or two!

  • +6

Bought degreaser at standard price last week - looks like they've already given me store credit for the price difference. Good to see businesses being proactive.

  • Sca 5L radiator coolant showing $3.50 now…

  • Degreaser is corrosive rubbish IMO. Got 11 1/2 cans sitting on the shelf of a 12 can box that was "on special".
Peerless Jal Cleanshop degreaser from Bunnings is so much better and equally priced.

    • Brake and part cleaner is worth a look at this price though.

    • Do you have 11 1/2 cans of Export degreaser or another brand?

Are you saying Peerless Jal Cleanshop is rubbish too?

      • I have 11.5 cans of Export degreaser, as per this promotion, currently sitting on my shelf.

"Peerless Jal Cleanshop degreaser from Bunnings is so much better and equally priced".
No, I use the Peerless Jal product for everything, it is amazing. Degreasing car parts, engine bay, upholstery, carpet, bikes, BBQ… etc! :)

  • Those are not multi-fit oil filters, they're multi-fit pod filters. ;)

  • +3

    Stay away from pod filters.

  • Those filter are air not oil.

    • They are oiled air filters.

      • Multi fit oil filters $16.99 (40% off)

I need this degreaser for my oil leaking car engine. Especially when getting my pink slip

    • This wont fox your problem! Maybe try fixing the oil leaks. Start by tightening the tappet/rocker cover if that's where its leaking. Then spray with high pressure hose. Water hose on jet blast should do it.

  • Coolant - "Not recommended for alloy engines after 1984" - lol thats handy….

    Sorry - good deals tho

  • -1

Degreaser - use washing up liquid -way cheaper - 1 litre $1
