Anova Precision Cooker Bluetooth $174 | Bluetooth+Wi-Fi $194 Including Shipping @ Anova Culinary

740
GOBBLE65

No idea when the coupon code expires. Anova are now offering free shipping to Australia, so I think this is the lowest price it's ever been for Australians. With the exception of targeted offers some may have received. They've also dropped the base price of these units by $20 so it's a pretty decent deal.

They've been dropping price a lot lately. I speculate they're either going broke, feeling the pinch of competition or setting to release a new model. Will they continue to drop prices? Anyone's guess. It's probably a good buy for those wanting to get something for Christmas for the chef in their lives.

        • Using a Coles Mastercard - same price protection deal as the 28 degrees card but 12 month claim period instead of 6 months

      • Would the 28 degrees price protection cover this? They seem to cover only Australian based businesses, though it's not exactly clear.

        • You are right - generally it's fine as long as there is an ABN on the invoice. Saw that Anova had an "au" in the website but didn't realise they weren't Australian based…

    • Did you check the website to which you linked? They show a comparison. Believable? Anyone's guess. They don't tell you the Anova has bluetooth and wifi options, a complementary app, a track record and an existing community of users. Which would I choose? The Anova.

    • same principle…
lesser known brand, no BT/Wi-Fi or app

  • Would buy as an xmas present at $135. Not so much at the $195 price.

    • still better than RRP though thus this current post..?

      • +1

        That's true.
I just signed up to the mailing list. Maybe later they'll send out the better prices again.

$159 for the bluetooth and wifi with the black friday code.. think thats a better deal now ;)

        • @prankster:

I missed out again.codes have reached their limits.

Well I guess it's a sign I should save my money.

          Cheers anyway!

  • FYI: I signed up to the newsletter 3-4 weeks before the offer began.
I emailed ANOVA asking why i didn't receive an offer.
I also asked if i could be given a code in light of this with immediate payment to be made.
They agreed. Purchased bluetooth + wifi model for $154. i'm going to assume that price may drop in the following months to possibly $130 or so, but this is a win in my books!
    Happy days.

    • Lucky you!
I emailed them a few days ago about this and I was told no despite having never received one email since signing up to their mailing list since the start of this year.
      :(

    • hey mate which email did you send it too?
I emailed '[email protected]' asking them as well too but no reply lol

      • Hey,
I sent it to the same email address. Got a response within 48 hours.
I also sent them a facebook PM, but had no luck via that avenue.
        Good luck!

Mine turned up this morning… Can't complain about the shipping time

    • When did you order yours?
Question: Can you recommend any high quality BPA free bags to use?
I don't have a vacuum sealer and from what i read it may not be necessary (I have also read many a review of how frequent vacuum sealers break down - any comments on this? Didn't matter if it was a $70 or $300 they all seemed to break down in a year or 2 or were intermittently not sealing).
Also what do some of you use as clips for those that don't have vacuum sealers? By clips i mean what do you use to clip the bag onto your pot? Wooden peg? Stainless steel clip?

      Thanks.

      • +1

I use a vacuum sealer, so probably not much help…
I have used normal zip lock bags once or twice, but buying vacuum seal bag rolls in bulk is cheap enough to not bother..

My vacuum sealer has been working fine for a couple of years, and it's a Luvele brand..

And I don't use clips, normally the packages stay submerged anyway, otherwise I'll just rest a kitchen spoon or something on top to help it stay down

        • Thanks for the reply. Which model of Luvele are you using?

        • +1

          @bullettime:

I think it's called the Luvele turbo.. They look like they've changed colour (mines black), but the functions and buttons seem to be the same

        • +1

Ha! I have a Luvele too! This one. Works well. I like that the roll sits inside and has a cutter integrated. Makes life a lot easier if you prefer to buy rolls instead of prefab bags.

      • If you're planning to cook sous vide with any regularity I'd recommend a vacuum sealer. I've done water submerging before and it's a pain in the arse.

    • Mine turned up Monday. 2 business days after order. Insanely fast.

  • Just received an email for countdown to Black Friday sale.

$100 AUD - email sign up for notification. Not sure if you need to be on the emailing list but might be worth it at least for the sale period.

  • I got an email from Anova that there will be $100 off too.

  • +1

    It's $90 off.
You can buy it now as sale has started. No code necessary.

  • I have a question for those who have purchased and received the WiFi model: does the sticker on the back of your precision cooker say 800w or 900w?

Even though the website says it should be 900w, the sticker on the one I received says 800w. I contacted Anova to clarify and I got this response:

We are very sorry for the confusion, as per update, we are looking for the AU model with 900W to be available by December. I do understand the disappointment you have when you received the 800W instead.

    • You're dead right! Good pickup! I never bothered to check. I too thought it was going to be 900W and it was a part of my decision making whether to get it or the Bluetooth. I feel a bit ripped off. Their comment is a bit crap. 'Oh well, sorry'. The 900W would heat quicker and I thought that was enough of a benefit to buy the Wifi version. I'm going to drop them a line and see what the go is.
