Not to mention Atlassian is a great Australian software company to support.

This is a great deal for great software - and what wasn't mentioned clearly is that the ENTIRE $10 goes to charity.

  • I've been looking for something to help remote users update shared documents in real time, I wonder if this can do that, I'll have to read up

      Yes, it (confluence) can.

This has been around a while.

The best thing about it (and I think Atlassian knows it) is that due to its price you can bypass all the corporate bureaucracy in terms of buying software licences and introduce it to your team anyway.

My team (a java development team) just got $10 out of our beer kitty and went and bought the licence, rather than spending 6 months and filling out god knows how many forms and approvals trying to get an expensive licence. Now that we are using it, we could easily justify forking out for a larger (more users) licence and we could wait for all the approvals since we already have the software running.

As for Confluence, the software is brilliant. It has completely changed the way that we work.

  • :( Got charged $11 for GST, stupid howard!

  • +1 for great software from an Aussie company. I use the personal license at home, and our work has a corporate license from way long ago.
